Tenet (2020)
Highs and lows
Cool idea, amazing action scenes, horrible dialogues and the worst soundtrack in a Nolan movie.
Nolan confirms himself as a great director an ok story writer and a horrible screenplay writer.
Perfetti sconosciuti (2016)
A great positive sign for the Italian cinema
An incredibly well-written modern chamber play that submit us a really interesting question: What would actually happen if a group of friends that affirm to know each other perfectly puts the smartphones altogether where everyone can hear the calls and read the messages? Yes A big mess
The brilliant starting idea is developed in a wonderful crescendo that transforms rapidly the situation from a nice dinner with old friends into a bloody battleground that reveals the darker secrets.
The movie is both funny and dramatic and so is the bitter-sweet final (wonderful inception tribute).
Great cast, good directing and good cinematography.

Skypocalypse (2011)
A great idea for a low-budget series!
This is clearly a low-budget web-series, it doesn't have great dialogs, it doesn't star great actors, it doesn't have great cinematography, directing and mixing, but it has one genial idea: How can we shoot a zombie movie without zombies? There's no need of zombies, we just have to talk about them and put some audio effects in the film. There are many problems, but the passion that the authors have put in it is so contagious that the spectator will always be attached to the characters.
The movie starts with a great idea, but with absolutely no plot. By the way it will be built during the series and it will became more and more interesting till a great final plot twist.
The Big Short (2015)
Plenty of strokes of genius
This movie could easily be boring and incomprehensible, but the director and the writers managed to keep the viewer awake and make him pay attention to what's going on. A very lively direction and many good ideas (Margot Robbie, the cook and Selena Gomez above all) give the spectator the fundamentals to understand the story and a majestic cast with real good performances make the rest. The movie isn't perfect: it's a bit too long, the character portrayed by Christian Bale isn't really explored and some passages remain too hard to understand, but surely it's worth seeing it to have an example of how to turn a boring movie into something funny, brilliant and super-interesting.
