Solid Action Movie
6 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Definitely Recommended! A solid Jason Statham movie.

PROS: There was A LOT I enjoyed in this movie! It's a BAD A** KICK A** Action Packed Movie. The story was complex and good, a lot of moving parts.

CONS: The only things missing, were a few times the story didn't flow as well as it could or wasn't easily followed. With so many complex aspects to the story, it needs to be delivered seamlessly. Then on the visual side, some of the action didn't look natural. As for a few pieces of the story (I won't spoil too much) it wasn't my favorite direction (which would have gotten it an extra star had it been different).

Great Story!
17 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wow! What a Great Story! So close to ranking in at a 10 / 10 ! My only reason to not rate it as a perfect movie, is because I wish the cast had resembled the actual people (at LEAST closer), other than that I have NO complaints. HIGH ENERGY! If you love racing, this movie is for you! The sound of the engines is amazing throughout the entire movie. It definitely feels long, but I didn't want the movie to end. I feel most great movies are longer than the average. Ending on such a high note leaving you feeling like you're in the celebration! I don't know much of the original story, so I hope this movie stuck to it closely. The acting was great, the scenes were great, overall a Great Movie! 9/10 Recommended.

Warning: Spoilers
When I watch a movie, I want to be entertained. This movie was disturbing. I'm not a fan of movies about cheating. It's a negative movie with no room for redemption. The girls are psychotic and disturbed in many ways. Evan Webber's mistake unlocked the door to Hell. Ana de Armas and Lorenza Izzo's have good chemistry and truly become a pair. Sexual nudity/scenes in movies are unnecessary and can easily be done without. It's a cheat sheet to create an audience. The movie quality is up to standard. While Evan was undoubtedly in the wrong, so were the girls for tempting & forcing themselves onto him. It's takes 2 to tango, or in this case 3. Do yourself a favor and don't watch this movie.

The Menu Needs To Be Revised

Warning: Spoilers
Most movies don't achieve points for "X Factor" in my watch history, BUT (despite my low rating) this film does! It's different and interesting. Aside from that, there wasn't much else I enjoyed about it. Like a dish, where the appearance was the only factor focused on, where in the flavor and experience lacks. The cliche of a cheating partner is over-used in modern films and is boring. In the setting of high class and sophisticated, "Margot's" low class personality came off as corny and didn't fit the movie's energy. There were a lot of loose ends in the story that left many questions. Overall, the movie was not well-writt.

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't know about Sheryl Strayed, so I was surprised the movie was based on her & that it was a "True Story". I will always be a fan of True Stories. That being said, I wasn't a fan of her story (personally). She had a hard life, which lead her down a darker path. From a film perspective, I'm usually not a fan or sexual-nudity or "sex scenes". Very easily that could have been insinuated (to keep with the story) and not shown. I'm not a Reese Witherspoon fan and this movie pushed me further from it. I didn't appreciate her showing her body or movie lines speaking down on God. I'm not one to usually enjoy negative movies, but at least it ended nice. I did like the attention to detail in this movie, from what I can see they kept it close to the true story. There was an entertaining sense of adventure § survival. It does give you a perspective of self & your own journey. Overall, I would recommend this film to fans of Sheryl Strayed or any of the actors, hikers, travelers, survival-movie enthusiasts, & hippie-minded people. Mostly if you don't find yourself in that category, I wouldn't recommend the movie.

Warning: Spoilers
It could have been sooooo much better! I hate that it wasn't. The basis of the story is so good and Taylor's acting is captivating!

I guess it's easier to list what I actually did like from the movie, so here it is:

  • Taylor Schilling's acting is captivating
  • The over-all acting in the movie is good
  • The movie was filmed well (as far as angles, scenes, effects, etcetera.

  • The story itself. It had a great basis to work with (and in my opinion COULD'VE been a CLASSIC) and the storyline's plot twists/etcetera were pretty interesting

I'd definitely watch a Part 2 if one was released, I would just ask that they live up to the movie's potential.

Togo (2019)

Such a good movie!
14 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There was so much I loved and enjoyed about this movie!

  • The fact that they found one of Togo's descendants to play him

  • Willem Dafoe looking similar to the man he was playing

  • The use of that indigenous woman's language/song

  • The relationship between Leonhard and Constance Seppala

  • The ending was beautiful

  • A good wholesome movie is always good

  • The fact that Togo got his credit in this movie

  • The whole story was so enjoyable

Disney has another classic with "Togo". Something I feel everyone should watch. I know there will be some that will enjoy this movie over and over again.

Survival Movie to the MAX!
8 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Definitely entertaining to watch, especially if you like premeditated survival themes. (As with most movies) I felt there could have been some better areas, but over-all I felt that this movie was a solid 7/10. I loved the concept, the gore, the master-like skills from the old man & the hard core vibe. Things I didn't like in this movie were:

  • The fact that he was a rapist, I'd prefer a different story line, but hey.. I guess real life doesn't always work out how you'd want it to, so the film reflects that.

  • At times, the "bad guys" came off as cartoon-ish and not fully believable

  • I also felt that some of the scenes could have been done in more easy-to-look-at places (more interesting to look at)

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly.. disappointed. Was expecting a potential Horror Classic! But it immediately began showing signs of a corny movie.

My Rating: 5/10

+ I liked some of the choice in actors for the look of this movie (i.e. Alyssa Sutherland, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies and Nell Fisher)

+ Good to Decent Quality through-out (Acting, Camera-work, Effects, etcetera)

+ Enjoyed maybe around 90% of the gore (a few scenes were poorly done or corny)

+ One of my favorite things about this movie, were some of the phrases from the demons. Some really cool lines!

+ Good "X-Factor" in the use of the turn-tables, the secret vault, the "Staffenie" scenes and the books imagery.

A Halloween Gem
14 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Like other comments I've seen I agree that I'm surprised I've never heard of this movie before, I definitely believe it's underrated. A movie (that in my opinion) is damn near close to a Perfect 10 Star Rating!

My reasons I took away stars:

1 - The story at times didn't flow smoothly or seemed a little forced to work.

2 - The amount of dumb things done by these kids was aggravating! The amount of weapons left behind?!?! Why did she walk towards the gun instead of crawling towards it?? I hate when people in emergency situations stop & talk or hug as if they have time!!! So yeah, for that continued annoyance, I subtracted them another star.

I rated this movie 4/10 stars

Stars for: * Jennifer Lopez * The beautiful and aesthetic scenery * The visual quality * The black and brown representation in the daughter and her adoptive family

No Stars for:
  • The script didn't make sense
  • Not any great role models/moral to the story
  • No "X Factor" setting it apart from other films
  • Because of the script, many scenes came off not believable and corny
  • The feminist undertone
  • For some reason Hollywood hasn't mastered the art of casting a tough woman that doesn't come across as a dyke, like a woman playing as a man, a woman can be tough and rough around the edges without acting like Rambo.

Warning: Spoilers
I've seen this movie twice now (several years apart) and haven't changed my opinion much. Not a horrible movie, just not one I feel everyone needs to watch. I loved Dan and Charlotte's chemistry in the beginning of the movie and wish they would have worked out (maybe a Fan Fiction idea). The end either felt rushed or boring, but it didn't keep me as interested as when it started. A prequel showing the usage of the basement would be cool (if done right). Also, I felt that most of characters weren't always believable (which is needed to really get into the movie).

Star Breakdown: ⭐ Charlotte's character ⭐ The house features (cool concept) ⭐ Story Concept (good concept, potential not met) ⭐ Dan Cooper's character.

Looked Bad
25 January 2022
I had seen this title a few times and finally figured I'd give it a try. I mean after all it's a movie about Brooklyn and Ice T is in it. I couldn't get through more than a few minutes before turning it off & throwing it away. So if you're looking for a review on the story, I didn't see it. But for what I did see, it looked bad.

Big Names, Bigger Letdown
25 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Thought it would be better due to the names starring in the movie. I'm a big Mark Wahlberg fan and it's not his acting that disappointed, but the storyline itself. It lacks an interesting plot and enjoyability. It's also a movie that targets Christianity and makes it to be something weak and superficial. How can I enjoy this while my beliefs are being disrespected right in front of my face? Bad marketing move.

Is it your type of movie?
13 November 2020
I'm starting to think that Quentin Tarantino movies are just not my thing. I appreciate the quality and technique, but it's not my style. I like the story, the action, the extreme and uniqueness of the movie. A decent part 2 in my opinion. The beginning was a little boring, but picked up pretty quick. A cult classic!

Started Weak Ended Strong
13 November 2020
It took a while to get started, but when it did, it was pretty good. Another good Bruce Willis movie. I'd watch it again if it came on, but wouldn't say I liked it enough to put it on. The special effects were very 2000's and not in a good way. The beginning of the movie was dry and some of it pointless. But there are some good relationships between characters and good scenes.

Catwoman deserved better!
12 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When I was younger, I think I overhyped this movie. Watching it again I was disappointed. Some of the graphics weren't realistic enough or were just corny ideas. The "villains" of the movie were boring & had an ugly relationship. It also started very slow, I understand it takes time to build a character, but it could have been some differently. The coolest scene was when she first dresses up and steals the motorcycle! I also liked the relationship between her and the officer. Halle Berry (as usual) played her roll well. I did also like the general aesthetics in the shots. It's disappointing to have an okay movie for such a cool character (like the Batman movies).

12 November 2020
Slow paced and too widespread. Starting I thought it was just extremely slow, but that the story would pick up. But an hour in I realized that was the pace. It's also all over the place. Not something I would recommend.

Equally comical and dark. Very entertaining movie. Good actors and interesting story. There were a few times where I lost interest and other scenes I felt took away from it as a whole. I wouldn't see myself wanting to watch it again, but I could see it being a cult classic.

A lot To Be Missed
11 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Long movie. It just seemed overacted. In the last hour I had run outta interest. In my opinion, not even Brad Pitt could save it. The first fight scene was the best, after that my expectations continued to be missed. The key Trojan Horse scene seemed to be moved past quickly and moved straight to the battle. #MajestikReviews
