The Lodge (2019)
It had hope. Had being the debatable word.
The one star is the producers very kindly killing off Alicia Silverstones character early on, so we do not have to endure her acting.
Suspenseful it is to a certain degree - but if you're anything like me you will just be pissed off when this is over. A ton of unanswered questions led by a very poor plot overall and it's a shame as it DOES have potential.
As for those young kids... you wouldn't be stupid enough to perform the actions they do throughout the film. I mean, why on earth would you wind up someone you know to be a complete psychopath?
Very forgettable and you definitely will not be wanting to watch this again. Especially that ending.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Take the blue pill.
To the people who were quick to criticise reloaded and revolutions as 'bad'... how about now?
The concept was kind of there. Sadly it just lacked an anywhere near acceptable execution. What a way to destroy a quality trilogy with some horrid, horrid writing and casting.
The end verdict? Save your money. Accept the fact the Wachowski brothers are the only ones capable of making a matrix film without it seeming wayyyy too money orientated.
Take the blue bill because you do not want to see how deep this rabbit hole goes.
Who Killed Captain Alex? (2010)
Life changing
That is all.
Now please stop reading this deprived sentence of complete nonsense and get your life changed. Now.
Thank you.
ARK: Survival Evolved (2015)
Ark - swamp flu evolved
AI Average
Melee painful
Servers Okay
PvP rage at the highest
PVE very poor
Inventory painful
Story short:-
If you are a new player you don't stand a chance in pvp, forget it - there is no fair margin.
There will be raging players level 75 or above who have been killed by another pro and want to take their anger out on you, deliberately giving you swamp flu or killing you for no reason. Standing around for the sake of it.
'Dude it's a survival game' Yeah okay, I totally get that, but an infection which is impossible to cure until later stages? not cool and painful. So painful. They need to seriously address this among even allowing high levels to spawn in the noob zones. PVE is a bore with no real purpose. Single player includes in this argument - waste of buttons.
Save your money. Buy dayz.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
When you give up an amazing book franchise for a money spinner
Weak from the start - a painful remake that we didn't need. Tbh it all started when they allowed Harrison Ford to kill his character off and that was bad enough.
Let's hope when Disney sell on the franchise they put this trilogy in the 'joke legacy' archives.
George - I appreciate you selling your old horse mate but we need you now more than ever.
Your sincerely - the fans with brains.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
Good but no more money spinning sequels
Again another 'heart string' moment towards the end as Pixar always does which again was a lovely end.
4 is understandable as it gives you conclusion as to what happened to Bo beep and a follow on from the usual gang.
They DO need to stop though with sequels - especially now they have essentially moved a main character 'on' but I thought they done well considering 3 didn't need a sequel.
A prequel before 1 Perhaps as we did hear woody have a chit chat about raising 'other helpless toys'
Still this is Disney and they can not leave things alone. Take Star Wars for example.
Taken 3 (2014)
Well, what the hell were you expecting.
well lets face it, we all thought the film was pushed forward anyway - number 3 came out a lot earlier than expected.
Anyway - alright film, lacked a little action for my liking. Got sort of bored of the... 'im going to save my daughter again' sort of thing. Makes us future dad look like aload of poo.
Some of the stunts will leave you mythed. For instance. They cover their tracks by showing viewers how brian escaped a car rolling off the hill but never showed how he escaped an elevator blowing to S**T.
I got bored of him saving the day with a 9mm as well. He enters a highly controlled Russian apartment with ease with a 9mm and leather jacket. Felt like he took tips from Max Payne.
Predictable plot.. We all knew his ex-wife's partner was the killer. and oh... He's hijacked his pals and stole his daughter again. Great.
I've enjoyed the Taken series but I think its time to knock that one on the head.
I really like Qui-Gon Jinn and I know Obi-Wan misses him, so I gave him a 4.
Gone Girl (2014)
Some interesting twists, intriguing storyline - but the ending?
its a good 'couples movie' and the story will keep you watching all the way through. Although some parts felt somewhat predictable, other parts will leave you surprised.
Ben Affleck plays a good role in this - sort of want to feel sorry for him and hate him at the same time.
My score is mainly to do with its not a film you could watch more than once. Its one of those films IMO that if you know that's going to happen already (duh) then your probably fall asleep. Another downer for me was the ending - bit of an '...oh...ok..why?' ending (without giving anything away)
