The Gray Man (2022)
I guess everyone needs a paycheck sometimes
I assume no one associated with this movie read the abysmal script. It seems someone strung a bunch of philosophic euphemisms together with a few gun fights and, voila, a script.
Rene what's his name is better off remaining silent and brooding like his character in Bridgerton. Speaking is not an uplifting attribute. Chris Evans looks like a rejected extra from Dick Clark's dance show. Billy Bob couldn't look more bored and underwhelmed. Gosling is tasked with making this abomination just slightly palatable. He fails.
The shot locations are fantastic.
Ragdoll (2021)
Confusing psycho-babble
What was with the time consuming, unnecessary psychological flashback scenes? It confused the plot development and was unclear. Turned an otherwise good show into a rollicking mess. And, why was there an American girl? Is she married to a producer?
The Thing About Harry (2020)
Ummm
Wow, that was terrible. Superficial, stereotypical, and boring. That's just describing the characters.
A Place to Call Home (2013)
Excellent "high drama"
A great show especially if you're fond of the 80s evening soaps like Dallas, Falcon Crest, Dynasty, The Colbys, and Knott's Landing. True ars artus gratia.
The Sinner (2017)
Well, I'm not gonna get that time back.
The only sinners in season three of The Sinner are the writers for grifting a paycheck from the producers.
Stage Mother (2020)
Lightheartedly entertaining, not perfect
Great movie to make you happy. And, sometimes, you'll cry. Just watch it and have fun.
Searching (2018)
Nerve racking!
Hreat premise and cinematography. the integration of modern communication, electronic interaction, and technology is elegantly executed.
Upload (2020)
Sloppy
I lasted 10 minutes. Sloppy acting, trivial premise, poor execution.
Never Have I Ever (2020)
Hmmm...all this rings a bell.
Great show with a talented group of young actors. I'm happy to see Ramona Young in another role. Best line from Devi: "they use their dishwasher." It's something I have to explain to native Americans! Kudos to Mindy.
Love Wedding Repeat (2020)
Two bad movies in one sitting.
Phoned in acting. Terrible script. Then, another terrible script and worse acting.
A Simple Favor (2018)
Perfect diversion
A random choice turned into a delightful diversion. Entertaining thriller, romantic comedy, and satirical. Great quotable one-liners.
