Cringe at its finest
18 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I had only watched the first one. I put this one on as background noise but ended up watching it simply because I could not believe someone gave this the green light to be an actual movie. Is this what impresses teenagers now? An even lower budget, non-vampire rated R version of twilight where the main "hero hunk" is always brooding and lusting over a girl he lost because of...the fact he published a book without telling her? And all he had to do the entire time was simply apologize? But instead we get a movie where he needs to go travel and make amends from his past life, lead another girl on while fantasizing about the girl he lost literally every 5 minutes, gets in a fight, apparently find himself that way and THEN goes and apologizes. So...dumb. I lost brain cells.

Again. Total cringe.

Scoring it high bc of the dumb "it doesn't support feminism" reviews
17 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Good lord I've had it with over the top feminists who find the need to only look at the surface of shows and movies to find what angers them and type about it.

"Cole is the typical toxic masculine male." Yep. But you know if you actually watch the show longer than episode one, it begins to break down most of the Walter boys, what they've been through and why they act the way they do. And wow would you believe by the final episode, Cole has really chipped away at that super cold exterior of his.

Some of the acting isn't great in places. But I enjoyed it overall. I really liked the storyline with the ranch and all the relationships going on and how uncommon bonds between some of the enemies like Erin and Jamie were formed. If you're someone looking for a show to not take too seriously and get angry over fictional characters...I mean I'd recommend it but I'm also not a raging feminist apparently.

Yep. Watch it
15 September 2023
I'm sure everyone else has said all this before me. Such a well made film with some of the best high quality footage I've seen in a while.

I'm a Chiefs fan who started watching the New Heights podcast on YouTube when it came out and continue to. It's so easy to respect Jason just as much as chiefs fans respect Travis. His wife is an incredibly down to earth and I really enjoyed how their family dynamic was portrayed throughout the documentary. I was also shocked to find out that his family had to pay for Super Bowl seats - I figured that was a perk!

Final thoughts - if you don't at least tear up when Jason finds his mom after the Super Bowl and cries, are you even human?

Meh
6 June 2023
I'm not a fan of blood/gore so obviously it immediately gets a low score from me. But I had watched it in hopes it would prove to be a good horror film as films about possessions intrigue me.

To me, there's nothing special here. Another plot seen dozens of times before with the same typical possession walking, low demonic talking and scares.

If you are a fan of blood and gore, I guess I highly suggest it because that seemed to be more valuable to the film than an actual plot. How bloody can we make it even when there doesn't need to be blood.

Horror movies are getting less and less creative and it makes me sad.

How is the score so low with no reviews?!
26 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this movie. Been a Bert fan for 5 years and he honestly surprised me at how natural he was on camera. It was like watching him on podcast or on a comedy special...with explosives.

The entire cast hit this out of the park and they did a great job with adding on to the Russian mafia storyline. Mark Hamil was an amazing choice for Bert's dad! I think the only one I didn't like is the actress playing his wife. She did a good job, it just didn't feel like the Lianne that most of us know and love. Although LOVED seeing Lianne in the movie!

Highly suggest seeing this and just having a good time. Our theater was wild with guys taking off their shirts before it even started 😂 any Bert fan will like this movie. Oh, and don't miss the graffiti under the bridge ;)

Ignore the high horse movie reviewers
21 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, is it realistic? No. But if you're expecting that from this franchise still, maybe don't watch it.

I was highly entertained the entire movie. Jason Mamoa added so much and I didn't expect him to be The Joker of the Fast world. And it's also (in a dark minded way) refreshing to see a villain that does win by the end of the movie. And his tie in to the franchise was well done.

I will say, I hope they decide to only do one more part to this movie rather than 2. It was a long movie that did drag in some areas and could have been cleaned up a bit. I'm hoping the next movie will be the last piece that brings everything to a close. Then again, I don't think there will ever be an official "end" to this. Lol.

So many plot holes but still entertaining
14 March 2023
As someone who grew up with the original, I pretty much watch all of these whether I want to or not. I will say this was wasn't as cheesy as the last few have been. It just always cracks me up when a character gets stabbed on their side and in the stomach and don't have to go to the hospital or anything.

The killer was a cool twist. I had guessed it partially but was actually thrown off with the entire reveal of it, so that was cool, and the entire cast was enjoyable.

It's a decent movie, but I do hope they actually stop after this one. The same plot pretty much every movie tends to get a little boring.

She deserves a break
1 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I grew up around the Pam and Tommy era, but never actually understood what was going on behind the scenes. You always heard gossip about Tommy's body and of course Pamela - but like she gives mention to in this documentary, the fact people thought a sex tape was fine and "on brand" just because she had been in playboy is not ok. Being in Playboy was a choice - having a personal tape released without consent is very much different. It was devastating seeing all of the late night and talk show host focus specifically on her body and not take her seriously for anything else. We forget that celebrities are human and that we only get a glimpse into what the media wants us to see of them for the most part. Especially back then when you couldn't go online and easily defend yourself like you can now.

She's obviously stumbled because of this both in personal life and professional, so I was happy to see at the end her success on Broadway which I had no idea about. Good for her! And her sons seem like they have grown up with a lot of love and good heads on their shoulders. I hope the rest of her life treats her well, i earned new appreciation for her beyond all I thought she was.

Some people are too busy trying to be critics to simply feel it
24 December 2022
I loved this movie. I actually didn't know a bulk of things going on behind the scenes of her life, so it was very eye-opening to me and heartbreaking. You could see almost from the very beginning, unfortunately, how things and people in her life would build up until she was torn down.

For everyone that keeps quipping about the actress not looking like her - please stop and watch it again. This actress studied ALL of Whitney's body movements, facial expressions and actions. There were a few times in the movie that she came pretty damn close to looking just like her. And she was brilliant.

I hope all the Whitney fans and those who grew up with her music and life will see it. It's a very enjoyable movie.

Violent Night (2022)

My favorite Christmas movie of all time
20 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously! I can't say enough good things about this movie. Paying homage to Home Alone and just pure violence and comedic genius all the way through!

The only reason I did not give it a perfect score is because of the dad's finger getting broken, and then magically being just fine throughout the rest of the movie. And of course, Santa can take out an entire team of trained security guards (who apparently never thought to just fire off their guns) but when it comes down to the final showdown, one man almost takes him out.

However, I'm not a lame film "critic" who has to pick movies apart for small stuff like that. I thoroughly enjoyed this and can't wait to watch it again!

There's two sides to every story
17 December 2022
For the past several years I have read the gossip columns about the Royals, mainly about Meghan and her temper/the way she treats staff.

However, like my title says, there's two sides to every story. After the second part of this documentary came out, it truly gave me Princess Diana vibes with how they had to deal with the paparazzi and how she really wasn't treated the best. None of us actually know what happens behind closed doors, but I honestly have more sympathy for the two of them than I started with.

Final note - for those giving reviews about them whining about everything - Meghan wasn't brought up as a Royal. I can't imagine how hard it would be to fall in love with someone and have your world and the way you have to behave and do EVERYTHING turned upside down. And then the backlash received...heck I'd be a little whiny too.

This is why legitimate ghost hunting gets a bad rep
28 October 2022
Sigh, I always get excited for shows like these in hopes that they're actually going to go unscripted and do actual investigating. This was staged from the moment the "psychic" sensed the building she was about to go into in the opening of the first episode. Also, if she says "Jeremy" one more time I'm going to throw a shoe at the tv.

It's clear acting, which is unfortunate because a few of these guys are actual paranormal investigators that have created a name for themselves, but now to do something this clearly staged just really put a dark cloud over them for me.

Most people think the world of paranormal investigating is fake as it is, and this definitely added to it: right up there with Ghost Adventures.

Stupid

Warning: Spoilers
Oh so we have to write a minimum of 600 characters now? Super.

Unless you enjoy things that build and build and build on your interests only to go unsolved and have a dumb ending, don't waste your time. I don't event understand how this has 6 stars out of 10. This seems to be a big trend with Netflix shows lately - build and build and build and then have a terrible ending.

The characters are all interesting but you never quite figure ANY of them out except for the detective who died. The daughter is a huge s l u t who needs a major reality and privilege check. The family are gullible idiots who go along with any story they're told, Oh look, I made the minimum character limit. I'm done now. I just hate shows like this.

Thank the Gods for this addition to the DCU
23 October 2022
While it's hard to keep track of which universe of characters DC is in, this was a great addition to the "good" brand of DC films. It had dark with enough comedy to balance it out, and I loved the action sequences mixed with great music.

It definitely had a few flaws here and there, but honestly if you're not an internet film critic it's just an enjoyable film. I liked getting to see so many of the DC characters that aren't mentioned as much so far get introduced and all actors portrayed their roles very well. And the Rock - I don't know how you don't like him. I look forward to seeing the next Black Adam Movie - especially after that credit scene ;)

Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)

It belongs in 1993
1 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not a die hard Hocus Pocus fanatic, but always enjoyed the original. I was hesitant about this one because most sequels fail to live up to what came before, and sorry but this is definitely one of those.

Too many loose ends that are swept under the roomba.

I wish they would have found a way to work in the fact that they aged rather than just try their best to cover it with the original makeup. It didn't suit Sarah at all.

Kathy's character (Mary) was too focused on the overkill of her quirky lip look that it was all I could focus on with her rather than any sort of comedic performance .

The musical numbers were horrible except for the Witch Is Back credit song. Just cringy.

I did enjoy the Walgreens scene and a few other things. But besides that, definitely should have stuck with the original.

I needed this show
15 September 2022
I'm a plus size fitness instructor who is judged on a regular basis without people knowing my actual story. This show truly made me feel that I'm not alone! I cried almost every episode at the breakthroughs these beautiful women had and found myself cheering with them. It showcased so many different women that were all relatable and damn can they dance! I also love that it's considered a reality show and there was very little drama. Just goes to show you can have a successful project without forcing drama and conflict. This show was needed and I hope people continue to embrace it and us big girls!

I hate mediocre series with bad endings
1 August 2022
And that's exactly what this was. Way too many flashbacks too frequently - oftentimes I forgot she was even stranded because of the slow moving flashbacks. And then the ending? Yeah. Not a fan at all.

Absolutely go see it
16 July 2022
Please ignore the wannabe film critics in these reviews. It's an enjoyable film - actually my favorite of the year so far. Each actor does an amazing job of making you feel the emotions you're supposed to and really draws you in. It's not a fast-pace movie, and I actually liked that element. The only reason it gets 9 stars is because of the "much anticipated" Taylor swift song in the credits. Pass.

Good, but a bit all over the place
4 July 2022
All actors in this movie were incredible. Let's get that out of the way. And I learned things about Elvis and definitely felt the emotional connection to the film and characters that I wanted to.

However, sometimes it was so all over the place that I found it hard to follow. I wish they would have gone a bit more in to his drug usage and shown more of the iconic songs and performances such as Jailhouse Rock.

Overall, loved it and left feeling inspired by the music and emotions. It made me wish we still had music like that.

Disappointed that it didn't live up to the other films
13 June 2022
Overall it was decent and I enjoyed the old cast meeting the new. But it felt very underwhelming with the plot and action. I think more time was spent trying to do all the storylines rather than more creativeness and action.

All the memories came flooding back

This film is done so well. It fits Larson, it fits RENT, his legacy. It had me reliving all of the memories and feelings when I first saw the musical and fell in love with it and the movie adaptation. Thank you for this.

I've been so turned off of horror movies the past few years because they have lacked originality. This was a great change and has something for all horror movie types - suspense, jump scares, psychological, wtf is going on, gore, etc. I'm definitely a fan!
