A Tyrannosaurus rex, King Kong and some scary stranger things!
18 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Wade Watts lives with ant Alice in Columbus, Ohio in the stacks, a vertical pile of trailers, a kind of slum, in the year 2045. Wade's favourite hobby is to immerse in the OASIS, a vast virtual world. As he thinks: people come to the OASIS for all the things they can do but they stay because of all the things they can be. Tall, beautiful, scary, a different sex, a different species, live-action, cartoon. It's all your call. Wade's avatar is a cool white guy with tattoos called Parzival and his best friend is Aech a person he never met in the real world.

The OASIS was developed by the eccentric billionaire video game designer James Halliday. When he dies he leaves behind his huge fortune and the control of the OASIS to someone who will find an Easter egg hidden somewhere in the virtual world. The spectacular hunt for the Easter egg begins and gets really interesting when Wade finds the first clue...

This movie is quoting the 80's pop culture in a fantastic manner. It is really fun to see a Tyrannosaurus rex, King Kong and the DeLorean from Back to the Future in one movie. The flick is also getting more suspenseful till the end. The film is based on the novel by Ernest Cline who says, despite a lot of critism by the fans, about the movie: but the heart of my book is there and the heart of my story and the whole theme and everything that I was trying to touch on is there but in a way that's cinematic and engaging...I tell people, it's like density. It's meant to be.

ménage à trois
17 February 2019
Eric and Martin, friends since childhood, visit the lake in the woods near their hometown every Sunday. They both fall in love with the same girl but it's Eric who starts a stormy relationship with Frenny.

Years later everything has changed. Now, Martin and Frenny are living together. Suddenly, Eric calls his childhood friend and wants to go with him fishing at the lake. First, they only talk about the past and what has destroyed their friendship but then things get heated...

The feature film debut of Max Gleschinski is very well written and stands out with great performances by the lead actors Bernhard Conrad and Florian Bartholomäi.

A cinematic experiment
14 February 2019
Nurlan drives his train every day through rural Azerbaijan and a suburb of the megacity of Baku. There is so little space in this slum that the residents hang up their clotheslines over the railroad tracks.

During one of these rides, a nice blue bra gets caught on the train from Nurlan. Who in the district is the owner of the laundry? Nurlan sets out on an unusual mission to find the woman and maybe love.

The film by German director Veit Helmer tells the warmhearted story in quiet pictures and without dialogue. A bold cinematic experiment, only visually we follow the Protagonist on his extraordinary quest - experiment succeeded - highly recommended.

How Han got the Millenium Falcon

Han Solo, a young man, makes dodgy dealings at the streets of Corellia but really wants to leave the planet and become a pilot, to see the galaxy. After he steals valuable coaxium from Lady Proxima he has the chance to catch a starliner at the spaceport. Solo is definitely a great Star Wars movie with breathtaking special effects. The cast is magnificent even the supporting actors. Highly recommended.

Imperial scientist wanted!
3 February 2019
Rumors are coming up in the galaxy that the Empire is building a weapon of mass destruction, a planet killer, a death star.

So Cassian Andor from Rebellion intelligence and Jyn Erso the daughter of the Imperial scientist Galen Erso, the architect of this weapon, embark on a mission to find him.

This movie is most certainly the best Star Wars movie ever, director Gareth Edwards has done a fantastic job bringing the Star Wars universe to life. The cast is magnificient and the visual effects by Industrial Light & Magic are breathtaking.

Highly recommended.
