Habitual (2019)
If you're looking for terrible this is it
This movie was absolutely terrible and I gave up after an hour. Most of that was overdone by a plug-in that somebody bought for after effects to mimic being on Molly. It gets very annoying after the first 5 minutes. People were slashed yet there were no slash marks on their body. People were shot but there were no gunshot wounds on the body. I'll never understand even the lowest of budgets you have to at least make it some relatable. This was complete trash and a waste of my hour. Normally I give a movie 10 minutes to get my attention and it did that but 10 minutes turned into 30 and then I felt invested so I went to an hour. Save yourself the time and energy of watching this low budget flick. For that matter don't waste your time reading this review either.
Tuff Turf (1985)
The best of the 80s
One of the eighties classics with Morton Downey Jr and James Spader. Brings back from memories of a memorable decade complete with clothing music and crimping irons!
Malignant (2021)
Total Flop
James Wan says he felt his audience was ready for something new and exciting. Not here sorry to say this film opens up with no story and digresses from there. Nothing is believable about this film and the acting is wretched!
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Didn't See That Coming!
Wow! Just WOW. What a mind trip. Thank God that Eve Hewson went against her parents wishes and became an actress!
Crucible of the Vampire (2019)
Purely Lockdown Material
I would be embarrassed to be be associated with this film. It suffers from a personality disorder in which the film does not know what it is. It seemingly starts with a purpose and that purpose is fleeting after 10 minutes. Isabelle is the only competent character throughout. But even she could not save this pile of dog dirt.
Assimilate (2019)
Invasion of the Video Blogger Snatchers
It actually wasn't that bad. But it's a new take on Invasion of the Body Snatchers which has been done, true. But it seems each generation remakes it and puts their own twist on it.
The Canal (2014)
A Psychological Masterpiece with Gore
Despite some of the poor reviews I've read here, I found this to be a completely coherent and excellent psychological Thriller/Horror movie! Yes you will see some themes borrowed from other films, but let's be honest every movie does that. The cinematography was amazing. The score was arranged with a lot of attention to details and made it perfect backdrop to the film. Transitions and shadows were creepy and eerie. About the only thing that annoyed me what's the editing in which the way the editor wood chop out frames causing a time jump effect. This worked okay as a transition but awful during actress dialogue. All in all it was a great movie.
Awaiting (2015)
EXCELLENT PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER!
I had never heard of this movie until I saw it on my Hulu list last night. I figured it would be another straight to video sleeper. Much to my surprise this was a excellent movie! The only reason I give it a nine is because I wanted to see Lauren get away and find a normal life.
Hayride 2 (2015)
HORRIBLE AND UNINSPIRED LIKE THE FIRST
This movie is just bad from the get-go. The tries to borrow from Halloween 2 but does it unsuccessfully. Every scene is predictable. The lighting and camera work it's so bad none of the settings on my Bravia could help it. This makes me want to give Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem at 10 out of 10 Stars.
The Executioners (2018)
Great Revenge Chick Flick
If you like B movies, and revenge movies like 'I Spit on Your Grave' don't offend you; then you will love this movie! The people who gave this poor reviews know little about low-budget B horror films. The acting wasn't the greatest, this much is true. But the story moved along quickly enough that it wasn't a problem. I've seen much worse. Special effects and Gore were up to par although we would have liked to have seen a little more! Especially in the film like this! But again, that's where the low budget comes into play. There were many twists in this film and there were parts where the director could have spent more time unpacking the story and making it more tension-filled. But for what it is, this is a great film.
