Orphan: First Kill (2022)
A less thrilling repeat of the first film
A lot of this film is simply a reiteration of the first film using different supporting characters. In the first film the plot functioned due to you not realizing Esther's real age, but in the prequel even if you hadn't seen the first one, it tells you at the start. Perhaps to make up for this, they added a sort of "twist" regarding the mother and son characters, but it's one already seen in plenty of crime series. My opinion is that a more original movie could've been made about Esther's time in the facility and trying to escape as I thought that felt like the most intriguing part of the film.
The Legend of Vox Machina (2022)
Tries too hard to be funny
Tries too hard to be funny, but the jokes are written by a 15-year-old high school boy. The characters are all eh. If you're really a fan of fantasy, you might endure it just to see the plot happen though.
iCarly (2021)
Kind of funny but also cringey
Spencer is carrying this whole show. New characters are terrible and annoying, and even though they're capitalizing on nostalgia they're trying too hard to modernize the show.
Zombies (2018)
Hilariously bad
I enjoyed this movie because I couldn't stop laughing. It was so bad, exactly what I expected and needed today. The acting is eh, the plot is super cliche, and the setting is nonsensical. The music was really bad though, even worse than other Disney movies. I also felt they didn't go far enough into the "worldbuilding." Like things keep getting brought up, like the "Z-Band," and nothing about it is explained. And why are the zombies practically just pale humans with green hair, rather than like, corpses?
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Cringey
The dialog, the scenes, it's all very cringey. And somehow in this story about an imperfect family learning to understand each other through living through the apocalypse together, nobody once utters the phrase, "I'm sorry," for all the toxic things done at the beginning of the movie and the eighteen years of the girl's life prior to the "happy ending."
We Can Be Heroes (2020)
What was the point?
This was an extremely lame movie. What was the point of making it? Sharkboy and Lavagirl show up as background characters, I guess... to draw in people who've seem them as children? But they barely do anything. The main character is the daughter to some random superhero we don't know, so why waste Sharkboy and Lavagirl? What was the point of any of this?
Warrior Nun (2020)
Most Annoying Main Character Ever
I think this may be the most annoying and unlikable female character I have ever seen in my life, and no, there is very little character development.
Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020)
Mediocre Show, but Not Star Trek
If this were just some random space show, it would be okay. Not great, but mediocre. But labeling yourself Star Trek means you have a lot to live up to, and this does not live up to Star Trek standards. I can't imagine who would really love this show. The human is high school style, somewhat inappropriate but somewhat childish, not suitable for either adult or young audiences. The science part of science fiction is pretty much thrown out the window. There is no philosophy or anything to be learned or thought about on this show. There are so many random references to the original series, which I never watched, but even if I did, I would probably still think the references are stupid because references are not funny.
One Day at a Time (2017)
Okay but Lots of Leftist Pushing
Some of the jokes are quite funny, and I like many of the more emotional episodes, including the episodes about immigration and a friend's parents getting deported, but I also don't appreciate a lot of the unnecessary leftist stuff being pushed, like the "non-binary" character. But what I don't like the most is how the characters get special treatment from other people. Now, a lot of main characters in a lot of shows break the rules and get away with it due to plot armor, but this show turns it into a race thing. The main characters are canonically allowed to do things that other people wouldn't be because they're Cuban, like breaking the visitation rules at the hospital. Now, some of these jokes are funny, but I don't want my kids growing up thinking they should always be playing the race card to take advantage of other people.
Black·ish (2014)
Okay Show
This show is just okay. It sets itself apart by being about black people, but it has all the issues of modern Americans sitcoms, including an episode normalizing teenagers having premarital sex.
Black·ish: R-E-S-P-E-C-T (2018)
Writers Should Remember PG Rating
Last time I checked, this series is rated PG. If I ever have kids, I'm not letting them watch American shows like this. High school teenagers who aren't in stable relationships let alone married shouldn't be having sex, let alone their parents being fine with it.
Modern Family (2009)
Inappropriate and Awful
I used to like this show a few years ago, but the recent seasons are filled with jokes about sex and marijuana. Are the show writers saying modern people are losers with no hobbies outside degeneracy? I can't believe this show is rated PG. It's also quite formulaic after you've watched multiple seasons, and many episodes bring things up that are immediately forgotten after the episode ends, so there is no closure.
Shazam! (2019)
The worst superhero movie
One of the worst superhero movies that I've ever seen. Boring characters, rules for powers that keep changing. Weird premise of children and teens turning into superheroes and when they do, they also become adults? What does this add to the viewing experience? Also some of the worst humor I've ever seen.
The Dragon Prince (2018)
Similar to a Video Game
The plot progression is really flimsy. There were a lot of things that didn't progress organically in the plot, where I felt like the writers simply added stuff in because they needed to progress the plot. Also, stop comparing this to Avatar. Avatar did not beat children over the head with its characters verbally saying the theme out loud a hundred per season.
The Good Place (2016)
Worse jokes I've ever heard
Plot was unique enough, but this show contains some of the worst jokes I've ever heard in my whole life. Also, this should be rated TV-MA for portraying cocaine in a comedic light, and all the other dumb stuff that happens on this show.
Up (2009)
Boring and unmoving
I didn't hate the movie, but I don't get why everyone thinks it's so good. There wasn't any part of it where I was emotionally touched, and I think it's because the kid was too annoying for me to like it, as a person who doesn't like children. The old guy is sympathetic, but I can't relate to him much as a young person, and those are all the characters that there are...
The Addams Family (2019)
Ruined the Characters
Plot is bland, very similar to many other kid movies. The characters, however? They're unrecognizable. I remember the old family being happy and united. This version is angst-y and cliche, Wednesday especially. I don't remember Wednesday ever being this cliche teenager-y?
Paranormal Activity (2007)
Worst horror movie in whole world
There are videos on YouTube more convincing than this piece of trash. This movie is just dumb. I should be paid to watch a movie like this. Nothing even happens. The characters are flat, like they're people picked off the street instead of actors. The plot is nonexistent. The movie is just about a few idiots and a little paranormal thing happens in the last ten minutes. It's not scary. It's not funny. It's stupid.
Dnevnoy dozor (2006)
Confusing yet boring
The plot is so inflated with useless subplots and it's hard to understand what's going on. There's many things that could be cut out and the story wouldn't be any different. Not to mention the film itself is directed poorly, with flashing and confusing scenes. It's hard to know what's going on. And the idea of good versus evil had been done a million times. This isn't better than those others. And there's not a single likable character. The characters are actually quite despicable, for example, Anton, the main character, while inside a female body, entered Sveta's, a woman, shower without permission then when she orders him to leave he kisses her, all without her consent, and the movie portrays this sexual assault as romantic.
