Avengement (2019)
Muddled mess.
Seriously, a good set of actors all thrown together with a terrible script, lots of blood and over the top violence. Thomas Turgoose ask Shane Meadows for another role. Your worth much better than this rubbish.
Glass (2019)
McAvoy makes a movie stand out
Short and sweet. If you haven't seen the other two movies in the trilogy you shouldn't even be reading this. James McAvoy puts on a majestical performance and really does deserve way more credit as an actor and hopefully some day the closed circle that's called the Hollywood Elite will realise this. Good trilogy and a good film. MNS has redemption from stinkers such as "the last air bender" by pursuing this trilogy from start to finish etc etc. Free the beast and head wig obviously etc.
Aknyeo (2017)
Korean movies just continue to get better
This is a quick and none pretentious review for the Asian and intelligent action movie lovers out there. It seems most of the negative reviews are from wanna be Mark Kermodes!!
It's a great flick with many twists and turns with a heavy helping of ultra violence. The Cinematography is excellent and it takes inspiration from several highly rated movies over the last few decades (I won't say which as it will spoil your self discovery of such influences).
That said Tarantino has built a career on a similar path throughout his wonderful movies over the years. So hey, even the finest writer/directors are inspired by previous works.
I think this film will become another Asian cult classic like old boy, lady vengeance etc.
Go into it expecting nothing and this film will punch you in the face from the very start.
It has its flaws, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely watch again.
Escape Room (2019)
Do you want to play another game
Jigsaw meets the cube. Watchable and quite enjoyable. Don't expect something new, but all said and done it's ok.
Marrowbone (2017)
A little hidden gem of a mystery horror flick
Well, after trawling through the usual on demand offerings, I stumbled on this movie. It's well written, well acted and has some lovely twists and turns. It's perfect score and suspense (not predictable) filled moments had me from start to finish. Please search this movie out, it's a real hidden treat.
Serenity (2019)
Been there done that.
Looks good, MM acts well, but it's the most ripped off film I've seen. Trueman show, west world, Jacobs ladder and so many others. In the words of Freddie Mercury, is this just real life, is this just fantasy. Worth a watch just so you can frown and shake your head.
The Joke Thief (2018)
A raw honesty about life and how you live it.
Well. I will start by saying it's more of life observation that a movie. It's honesty touched Me and I really engaged with Simon (the main character).
Life is short and keep trying to make it or reaching for something you always wanted is never impossible. A small budget, but big on hope and honesty. You will switch off in 10 minutes or fall in love. But hey, that's life.x
Bloodline: Part 32 (2017)
WTF? How to destroy a TV box set in easy steps.
Ok so Netflix decided they were killing the show off at the end of season 3, so clearly, whoever produced, wrote and directed the last few episodes had to try and wrap it up ASAP and boy they did a shocking Job. Pure ridiculous rubbish.
