What You Wish For (2023)
Surpsingly good and unexpected!!
I just saw this get added to the streaming site I use, so I really had no idea what to expect. I read the description and it said something about a chef who was down on his luck, and that it was also a thriller.. so I gave it a try!
Its very dark and unsettling, and its like your watching the movie through the eyes of the main character because he is in nearly every scene.
I loved how it just kinda jumped right into it and it never lets up, the ending has a really nice twist too! If you like thrillers and you're looking for something fresh and entertaining, this will absolutely do the trick.
3 Body Problem (2024)
Awesome series!
The Chinese Government is most likely the ones downvoting this series into oblivion, I think they're mad that they're being exposed and Netflix for once is actually allowing it.
Very unexpected for Netflix to come out with a show like this, controversial, epic, and mysterious, yet both people from the Left and the Right enjoy it, and for good reason!
Im on episode 5 and havent been able to stop watching. The cast is superb and the story keeps you wanting more after every episode. Excellent blend of drama, sci-fi and thriller.
I am looking forward to many more seasons of this to come!! Great job Netflix.
Beef (2023)
Very unexpected
I came into this series completely blind. Never saw the trailer but knew it was going to be Asian American centered. I thought it was going to be a comedy since Ali Wong is in it! I was very wrong.
This is a gripping drama about two people living parallel lives in different circumstances. Money, status, and mental health are key topics covered in this series with a unique Asian American cultural twist. Yeun delivers, as always, but I was also very pleasantly surprised by Ali Wong's performance! She did excellent in this serious role.
I loved watching the unraveling of the two main character's lives as their lives become increasingly worse. Of course, they have been miserable for a long time, but the collision serves as an effective catalyst for these two who have completely "had it" with their lives. They have met their match in each other and use each other as punching bags as an outlet, even though they're experiencing similar issues. Something as trivial as a road rage incident evolves into worse and worse situations for the both of them.
The writing is effective and well-paced. The viewer gets a great sense of why these people are the way they are. There is no clear cut hero and villain archetype but rather two humans dealing with more than they can manage - something everyone can relate to.
Cocaine Bear (2023)
LOLOLOL
LOL!!!! Where do I begin? I didn't watch the trailers or read any reviews. I saw a poster & title and thought, "yep.... definitely watching that." After seeing it, I can safely say with confidence that it is exactly what a movie named Cocaine Bear should be.
Aside from being an extremely fun and outrageous thriller, this movie is hysterical. So many parts are the perfect combination of memorable and hilarious. It knows exactly what it's doing. I was laughing nonstop.
The other thing that made me happy was seeing a studio have the courage to allow the filmmakers to actually go all out. I truly had a blast with this movie. If the title or premise intrigue you, you will definitely be pleased.
Outlast (2023)
Good premise... horrible contestants!!
I love these Alaskan-type survival shows.
However, in this series - the contestants, especially on the Alpha team (most notably Jill, but Amber as well), are downright disgusting.
I think Jill is a psychopath. She may need police protection when more people view this series. I could easily see a public doxxing in her future! I'm very disappointed that producers and cameramen did not reprimand her and her group.
Are they really going to allow theft of sleeping bags in the wild with sub-freezing temperatures? Many contestants dropped out early who saw the writing on the walls.. and good for them! I would have done the same thing.
If by any means this psychopath is among the winner, I will not watch another season. There's too much craziness and back-stabbing in the real world to waste time on this.
Peacemaker (2022)
Do ya really wanna, do ya really wanna taste it
This show is hands down my new favorite 'superhero' show.
It's hilarious. The action is great, they dont hold anything back. The characters are great and the story is fun.
My favorite thing tho honestly is the intro theme song/dance for each episode.
Santa Inc. (2021)
WHY?
The only question im left with after watching the 1st episode... is WHY?
WHY would ANYONE make a show like this??
Secondly, WHY would they even think making a show like this would be entertaining to ANYONE regardless of your gender/political view???
Theres a perfect explanation as to WHY this show has a 1.1 IMDBrating after 9k reviews, the answer is watch the 1st episode and experience it for yourself (if you can even make it through the full episode).
This show is a crystal clear example of everything wrong with Hollywood and the current state of our MSM news media in 2021.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Just wow
I never played League much, so I went in without any knowledge of the lore or story going on. This show is amazing and deserves to be watched by everyone, whether you're a gamer or not. I am shocked by how good it is, the character development and side stories are great, and you really start to like many of the main characters right away.
The Walking Dead (2010)
Great show
I really hate that they turned Michonne into an ultra-cringe character with every decision she makes after season 8, but the show is still a solid 10. Sure some filler episodes here and there, but absolute must-watch if you like the post-apocalyptic/zombie genre.
Take Me (2017)
I really hope they make a 2nd one!!
I had no idea it would end like that, holy cow lol. Acting was top notch, plot was excellent with a great twist at the end!
The Dry (2020)
a hidden gem
This movie was more of a slow-burn for the first 45-60 minutes, then the last 45 minutes is all thriller/suspense. One of the best movies ive seen so far in 2021.
Orange Is the New Black (2013)
great show, when the producers politics arent being forced on you
Great acting, great story, ridiculous political narratives. i enjoyed watching it most of the times, but its a shame having to cringe multiple times throughout the later seasons nearly every episode..
Bloodline (2015)
Do not let the 'bad ending!!' critics ruin it for you
It simply didnt end the way that they wanted it to. The ending is fine, it may not be anywhere near as great as the other 28 or 29 episodes, but it still was worth watching.
Need I remind you of how Game of Thrones ended??
How about Westworld??
Just watch the show already, you will not be disappointed.
Run Hide Fight (2020)
Shocking but also amazing
Some of the parts were hard to watch (its a bit graphic), but the actors did such an amazing job. The story is as real as it gets.
10/10 would watch it again.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
What the hell did I just watch
The first 15 minutes was good, but then I cant explain the last hour of the movie. Watch it for yourself if you dont believe me.
Shameless (2011)
Absolutely hilarious
I'll be honest, I stopped watching Season 8 because it got a bit too political for me. I gave it another chance tho, and am very glad I did. This show is great, if you can get past the political/cultural crap that they cram into some of the episodes.
Kevin and V are the best characters. Without them, this show would be a 6 or 7.
Upload (2020)
Ignore the 1-stars
This show is a 10/10.
The acting is awesome and the story is great. It's actually really funny too
Community (2009)
My new favorite show
The cast is perfect. The punchlines are always spot on.
Abed is hilarious. The whole cast does a great job though!
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
Peak cringe in 2020
Usually when you watch a good comedy, you just laugh the whole time.
Sadly for this movie, I cringed more times than I laughed. Not funny at all, especially the Holocaust prank.
American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules (2020)
Im honestly even not sure what to say here
This movie was absolute garbage, dont waste your time.
