History of the World: Part II: II (2023)
Marco... Polo... this episode had me LMAO!
As big fans of History of the World Part 1, my husband and I were excited for this series to come out and it did not disappoint. Some skits are better than others and after watching all the episodes, I must say the scene where Marco Polo meets Kublai Kahn was by far my favorite, literal tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard. As far as the rest of the series goes, there are several different, funny actors and comedians used throughout that it was quite entertaining to see who would be playing which character to reenact historic events a la Mel Brooks - offensively funny in so many ways. Definitely for mature audiences, some references might be hard to get especially if you aren't up to date with some popular shows/series under the abc network umbrella.
Split (2016)
James McAvoy... Wow!
I watched Glass first not knowing Split is the prequel and now that I've watched Split, I was able to see the incredible job McAvoy did with the characters. Each personality had different postures, accents, facial expressions, etc. and he was simply amazing in his portrayal of them. This certainly was a great thriller. Plus, having watched Glass first, the last scene at the counter was a perfect segue. Now I feel compelled to watch Unbreakable.
Olive Kitteridge (2014)
Wow... just wow...
I just got done watching the series on the recommendation of a friend and I'm glad I did.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
A real "zing"er!
This third installment of HT movies ended up being very entertaining. Wasn't expecting it to be very good but it was much better than the second one. The music and storyline made it very fun to watch for the entire family. Also loved Chris Parnell as the fish guy.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018)
Such a cute movie!
Watched this because my tween daughter read the books and watched the movie so it made me curious. I'm glad I did! I love the reference to Sixteen Candles which came out when I was around the same age as my daughter. That was one of the movies that made me become a big rom com fan. Which is probably why I enjoyed this movie so much.
Insatiable (2018)
Hilarious!!! Just started watching it but I am hooked!
Dallas Roberts is fantastic as Bob Armstrong! I just love that character! The hysterical dialogue with both comical and dark situations just keep the laughs coming. Can't wait to see how this first season ends.
Santa Clarita Diet (2017)
Absolutely hilarious and well written show!
I don't usually write reviews but after watching Olyphant in dramas like Deadwood and Justified, then watching him as Joel Hammond was so surprising and refreshing to me, I had to write something. Who knew he had such comedic timing! Kudos to the writers who put the characters in some crazy situations and give them hysterical dialogue to back it up. It makes this dark comedy laugh out loud funny at times. The entire cast has great chemistry and I love Skyler Gisado as Eric, the nerdy neighbor's son who helps the Hammonds with undead issues. Don't stop watching after the first couple of episodes because it only gets better and funnier!
