Hacks (2021)
Funny, sweet, touching ~ can't wait for Thursdays!!
Got to this party a little late - binged everything I could last week & subsequently looked forward to Thursday!! Just a fun show with people you want to love - (Jean Smart was adorable and FUNNY in Designing Women & is just as adorable and FUNNY in this, Hannah Einbinder is PERFECT in this role, adding Laurie Metcalf to any series ups the quality immediately - she kills me in every role she's ever done & is killing it so far in this as well!!! All the additional casting is just superb!!) What a pleasant surprise amidst all other 'not so great' stuff going on. Again, can't wait for Thursdays!!!
And Just Like That... (2021)
Really wanted to love this show :(
I am one of those who tried and tried to love or at least like this show & sadly, ended up devastated at how horrible it was. There were so few good moments that all I'm left with is shaking my head. I'll leave it at that with only one specific opinion about the absolute worst character ever on any show or movie I've ever seen and that's Che ~ I literally had to go back to some early Grey's Anatomy episodes to see Sara Ramariz in a progressive lovely role so I could unsee them in this one. I understand what the writers were shooting for but the writing made Che such a self centered unpleasant person that it was impossible to believe that Miranda would've fallen for someone like them. I'll look for Sara in another role in some other show that uses their amazing talent to play a character that's at the very least likable and relatable ~ they were neither in this show. One can only hope that 'if' there is a second season the writers will learn from the overwhelming negative reception of the first season. Sigh.
Immigration Nation (2020)
Less than 15 minutes into it and had to stop!
I 'may' try to watch this documentary another time but within the first 15 minutes I was so disgusted I had to stop. What kind of people actually make conscious decisions to do this type of 'work'? I had read that it was a 'fair' depiction of both sides but I didn't see one 'officer' who struck me as anything but horrible. With all that is going on right now probably better to put off watching despicable people carrying out dispicable direction from a dispicable president.
