A Christmas Princess (2019)
A disgrace for either cooking or Christmas movie genre out there.
"I've watched a lot (and I mean a LOT) of this type of movie, but this is easily the worst. The story line is not believable, the characters are caricatures of themselves, and it all just lacked cohesion and chemistry".
I totally agree with xeroxoul review here.
Furthermore there is something actually disturbing in the main character.
She, her fake eyelashes and her fake complaints at the hotel for the dinner with their parents are just unbearable.
You tell me a chef in the history of cinema who didn't even dirty her hands with any cooking. I guess just this one.
And what about her overall lack of professionalism?
This movie is a disgrace under any point of view.
Small Town Christmas (2018)
I didn't deserve this.
I'm a specialist in Christmas TV movies.
Here just for a quick "How the hell is possible that this has a 6.8 rate?!".
Just the worst Christmas movie ever watched.
Just so wrong that I don't know where to start.
Awful plot, flat characters, wrong town, very bad dramaturgy is enough I think.
Non sono un assassino (2019)
I love this movie.
I read the previous reviews which left me kinda astonished.
Read the disapprovals about 1.the editing(concerned about the complexity of the script/plot) 2.the easy understandable ending (really?!).
Given the facts that the idea of complexity is quite personal and that a trial has two possible main endings, even if I don't see how one can dislike the last 10 minutes, I declare that this idea of the ending as the usual final term of judgment is often just appropriate in the ordinary american movies and to the endings that seem groundless or specious, created just to justify the whole film.
A movie is journey.
And this one was particularly precious because of the very elegance in which it filled the holes of the story.
I loved every minute of it.
Ending included.
And the acting, the story and the plot.
But above all the ending.
PS: How do you justify european cinema to Americans, who would never have those cockroaches scenes.
Tommaso (2016)
Not a fan of the actor/director and I hate the character. Loved the movie.
The movie is a journey into a someway sick and not evolved mind with no dramatic stratagems.
No tricks here.
Only a fragile man who is too troubled, too perfectionist and with a too intrusive mother to exploit life at most.
Very believable characters .
Some impressive actings and characterizations throughout the process.
Not spoilering the end.
Completely into it.
The 6/10 is an insult for such an insightful and though fluent and enjoyable film.
The Way Back (2020)
I'm sorry. Just not good.
The story is awfully weak and banal like only some real lives can be.
Yet I don't know if it's based on a true story or not, but no good writer would have left it like that.
He's an idiot like only addicts can be, so not being an addict I cannot relate to that.
Not telling if in the end he will find his way back or not, just telling there's a very recurrent way to occupy the film.
At least, maybe it's... no, this movie is not open to many interpretations.
It's just very bad and boring.
68 Metacritics? Are you joking?
Inferno (1980)
This goes directly into nightmares.
You have to learn a story. The story of young italian teenagers and Dario Argento's cinema.
As born in the early seventies I have watched the most famous Argento's movies on tv. Not on prime time obviously.
These movies are in our nightmares.
We have all watched them and talked about them.
And no, Suspiria was not a masterpiece for us.
Not scary enough, all of it made you think "This is cinema. Not scary enough when they made you think it's not natural". Expressionist art, yes.
Too intellectual for us.
And it has never been a topic as most of the people I knew didn't accomplish to watch it until the best part, that is the end.
Our movies were "Deep red" as the best thriller so scary that it was difficult to bear and "Inferno" as the best horror which made you fear your fears.
Talking of cinema among families, some guys I know revealed they begged their cinéphile children to bypass Argento until the age of 14 remembering the strong impact those two movies had on them.
Fear and mistery in Inferno are always close to you, they will never make you feel alone.
And still, despite I watched it at least 5-6 times over the years, approaching Inferno gives me always a strong emotion.
If you want to color your nightmares, forget Suspiria and watch this. Alone.
Shivers assured.
Ti ricordi di me? (2014)
This 6.3 is awfully wrong.
I'm Italian and I'm not tender with Italian cinema.
There are peaks of course but there is often the feeling most directors too many times talk to themselves about themselves instead of talking to people about life.
Or to hearts about magic.
This movie is instead a miracle. A pure pearl.
The acting is moving and totally involving.
I laughed and at the end I cried so much for the magic of the script and for that acting.
Get this trip to life. Watch the movie in Italian.
And then check the Edoardo Leo's solid filmography.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Absurd reviews obliged me to write one.
I checked some reviews just after I ended watching the movie. Kinda ten around one to three stars all in a row. All commenting how absurd it was that this movie was well rated, talking of it as rubbish and things like these, talking bad of DC superheroes and suggesting how little believable Wonder Woman was. Well, these all seem excuses to me.
They really seem to have been paid to say something against the movie. You just cannot say something really bad about this. You cannot. You can not like it, of course, but said like this, well, this is an insult to intelligence!
I never liked superheroes movies except "Logan" and the several Spiderman who have been produced over the last 15 years (I didn't watch the last one yet). But this, as well as the other superheroes movies I talked about, talks of humanity. You see people dying for some ideal. Action scenes are entertaining as you watch them with real passion.
And Gal Gadot is a pleasure for the eyes. I couldn't stop from repeating to myself how beautiful and perfect for the part she is.
Conclusion: go watch this movie to fall in love with this wonderful woman and humanity.
PS:sorry for my ridiculous English
