Irresistible (2020)
A very disingenuous political message wrapped in a mediocre film
I'm not here to comment on the artistic side of the film. It's average. But I see that lots of reviewers here are missing the point. The film is making a point about the voting system in the US and the campaigning side of American elections. Specifically it's making a point about super pacs. It ends by blaming 'the system' while failing to point fingers at the real culprits behind the system. The system is invisible, you can't really face/fight it. It's saying, it doesn't matter what your beliefs or principles are, it doesn't matter if you're liberal or conservative, because they're the same.
This Is Where I Leave You (2014)
Tina Fey sucks
The film is good, star-studded, jason bateman is amazing as per usual in doing both drama and dry comedy. Adam driver is so fresh. Janr Fonda is, well Jane Fonda. But Tina Fey is really bad at drama, really bad at crying. She can't cry, she doesn't know how, and she shouldn't even bother.
Whose Streets? (2017)
Excellent filmography
This film will of course hurt many people who think they're not racist but. I have seen it a few years ago in Sheffield doc fest and learned a lot about BLM from it. I am here today because of what happened to George Floyd and to urge people to watch it and share it and do their part in educating others, feel empathy for the oppressed and be aware of the privilege not to be one.
