Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)
Pretty Good
I never played the video game, but I found this movie to be a good one. Though there are some minor plot holes, this movie does a very good job of keeping the viewers' interest. The story moves forward in a very desirable pace.
The action is a bit unrealistic so people who are very critical of realism will probably not enjoy this movie, but that shouldn't be too big of an issue. There is a great deal of violence for a PG-13 movie so keep that in mind if there are any kids present.
There are some parts of the movie that are difficult to follow, but it's not horribly difficult.
I paid $10.50 for this movie and did not regret it.
The Descent (2005)
I don't recommend it
This movie had great previews and seems to be getting really good reviews. I don't know exactly why this is happening.
I had wanted to see this movie for a long time. I see the previews and it looks like an awesome horror movie. Last night, I finally saw it. First off, the movie started off really slow and didn't make much sense. Next, the girls all go in a cave. I still have no idea why they went into it in the first place, but they did anyway.
Eventually, the entrance crumbles shut. They realize that this is not the right cave, and some stupid ditz mentions that she was hoping to discover it, which is apparently worth risking your life for. The weird unknown creatures start attacking and killing the girls. There is no explanation of what these creatures are or how they got there.
As they go on, they just get themselves more and more lost and one by one, the girls start to die. One of them even kills one of the others by mistake. At one point, on the girls says not to trust the other and requests to be killed.
There was a great amount of time that I had no idea what was going on, who was still alive, and if this movie was ever going to end. Towards the end, the sole survivor escapes the cave, gets in her car and drives off. Then she opens the door and throws up. A flash of her fallen friend appears and it is shown to be only a dream and that she is still trapped in the cave. They then show her hallucinating of having cake with her (deceased) daughter with the creatures surrounding them, probably meaning that she will die very soon.
The beginning, middle, and ending of this movie made absolutely no sense to me and it looks like someone wrote the whole story and script in 5 minutes. Granted, there are some pretty cool parts, but I don't recommend wasting your time and money on this crap.
My rating is 3 out of 10 and I think I am being a little too generous.
Sonikku adobenchâ (1998)
The Greatest Sonic Game!
I am a huge Sonic fan, and after all the fun Genesis games came out, I thought that they couldn't possibly get any better. I was wrong. The debut of 128 bits of graphics on the Sega Dreamcast was the greatest.
The action stages were amazing and I loved the fact that they had adventure fields, so I could run around and talk to people just for the hell of it. There were also different objectives for different characters in the action stages, which made it that much more interesting. Also, the story lines conflict with each other perfectly.
One huge drawback is Big the Cat. His story was awful. His missions included fishing for his friend, Froggy. The fishing was tough and not much fun. Another thing that bothered me a little was that every character (not including sonic) had only 5 action stages or less. They were fun as hell, but I wish that they were longer.
Overall, I recommend this game. If you don't have it, you are missing out on one of the greatest Sonic games ever to be made. I've gone through it five times and it's been loads of fun every time. I give it a 9.5/10 (Only reason it's not 10/10 is because of Big and the fishing)
Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001)
Another cool sonic game!
This is one of the best Sonic games out there. Great high speed action, great adventure, and amazing storyline. The game was fun, but challenging. There are levels for speed (Sonic, Shadow), levels for shooting (Tails, Eggman), and levels for hunting (Knuckles, Rouge).
Some of the drawbacks include Tails in a walker instead of on foot. It's still fun, but it bothers me that you control him in a slow walker instead of very fast and flying. Also, there are no adventure fields in which I liked in the first game.
When the two stories are beaten, there is a final story to complete with an awesome storyline and awesome game play.
Overall, I strongly recommend the game. I enjoyed the first one a little bit more, but this game is loads of fun and I've gone through the game three times already.
Dave Chappelle's Block Party (2005)
Absolute Garbage
Last night, my friends told me that they wanted to see a movie. Then, they mention that it's Dave Chappelle's Block Party. I remember him for being somewhat funny. I went to see this movie and I hear the worst and crappiest jokes and I see that nothing is funny, yet everyone in the theater seemed to laugh. I was expecting some kind of storyline or at least stand up or SOMETHING! What I got was completely horrible.
Most of these were rap/r&b performances and I guess I didn't like it because I don't like rap. Maybe if you like rap you might like this movie, but I recommend to most of you people out there to avoid this movie because it was not even close to worth my $9. I want my money back and two hours of my life back.
Edit- Okay, 3 out of 12 found this comment useful. Though its not a good rating, but I know that if I saved at least one person $9 and two hours of their life, I've done my job.
Sonic X (2003)
Very disappointing!
First off, I don't want anyone who reads this to think I'm some kind of sonic hater. I have been a sonic fan ever since the old genesis games and I am still a sonic fan.
A little over a year ago, I hear that there is a show based on Sonic the hedgehog. Knuckles coming into the show along with other characters seemed very exciting to me. I was thrilled to hear about this. I watched the show from week for a week for a couple of months. I was initially disappointed, but I was hoping that it would get better. It never did.
For starters, Sonic and the gang are not supposed to be from another planet that got stranded on Earth. This was never discussed in any previous shows or games. Why is this suddenly a fact? I have always been a Tails fan and I was disgusted to see what his role was in Sonic X. He normally just does nothing except for occasional mechanics. He doesn't even fly or hang around Sonic like he has done everywhere else. He had no purpose. Before this show, he was seen as the cute one. That's no longer true because of Cream. I believe that the only reason he even had a part in this show was because in a Sonic show, you pretty much have to include Tails.
Anyways, the story lines made no sense. Such story lines as that race-car driver who always wants to race sonic were simply pointless. Dr.Eggman could have had a good role as the villain, but the writers managed to screw that up as well. I remember one episode he had a chance to kill Tails. He said something similar to "Don't kill him. If you kill him I won't have anything to do." What kind of sense does that make? I've also seen the final story of SA2 repeated into the show, proving how lacking of stories these writers have.
I have always loved everything Sonic-related, but I am absolutely disgusted with this lousy excuse for a show. AOSTH might not have been the best show in the world to watch, but at least it was funny. Sonic X was neither funny or exciting.
My advice is to avoid this show like the plague. It's a disgrace to the Sonic series.
