Norbit (2007)
2/10
Have you ever made a really big mistake ? I did...
27 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
By watching this film, The film is funny for the first two times you see Resputia but then as they keep using fat jokes as their punchline. Seeing a fat person jiggle around of screen for an hour and 30 minutes is not funny, sorry.

The movie starts off with a baby being adopted by a Chinese man. The Chinese guy in this film was extremely annoying and repetitive. Back to the movie, he adopts the kid and raises him as if he is his own son. The baby grows into a boy who gets bullied and beaten by some two boys. To the rescue comes a HUGE girl named "Resputia". She fight them off, Norbit and her become a couple. They later get married and all is right with the world, right ? Nah, Resputia is a controlling woman who would stop at nothing to keep Norbit in a strangle hold in their relationship. Then into Norbit's life walks a beautiful woman, this woman was good friends with Norbit in the daycare. They even got married(fake). The thing I hate about this movie is the constant fat jokes. It seemed that was the only material they had. No one else in this movie was funny at all. The movie was very predictable even for a comedy. The jokes were also very crude and racial to the point where it just wasn't funny. The only thing I can say that was half funny was the "How you doing ?" by Resputia. It was just the way she said it that made me chuckle. Unfortunately, one quote can't save a movie.

Eddie Murphy, what the hell is wrong with you, man ? You put on a good performance with Dreamgirls and turn around to make a lame movie like this. That's too bad because this movie might have screwed up his Oscar chances. I warn you all to please stay away from this film. Get Netflix, rent a movie, watch porn, babysit your little cousin. Do anything but watch this trash movie. I wasted about an hour and thirty minutes of my life with this crap fest, don't let it happen to you. The best part of the movie was the credits because that means "we can leave".

Scream (1996)
10/10
Best slasher in years....
19 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Hands Down! Scream is a parody in itself filled with laughs and scares. The movie starts off in the very dark and atmospheric home where young innocent Casey Becker(Drew Barrymore) awaits her boyfriend's arrival. What she does not know is that he won't be coming at least not in the way she predicted.

What I really LOVE about this scene is the suspense of the first scene. It actually ran chill bumps down my back. Drew was terrific in this scene and so was Roger's menacing voice. I also love the part where she can't talk but she's like 10 feet away from her parents. That's what movie creativity is all about my friends. On the sad side Drew ends up getting it, she gets it BAD and so does her boyfriend. I do believe this is one of the best opening scenes in horror movie history(behind Halloween and Black Christmas'74).

Later in the film Sid now realizes that the guy who killed her mom is the same guy who took out Becker. Another thing I like about this movie are the characters. Never in my viewing of horror movies have I said "I like everyone in this movie". Tis true, Neve Campbell gave an amazing performance and was a great heroine. Skeet Ulrich was great as the red herring boyfriend. Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy added that comedy spice to this film that I love. Rose McGowan was terrific to as a hot best friend of Sid. Even the Kenny The Camera man was cool.

I also enjoyed the very creative death applied to this such as Casey's and Tatum's garage death. The ending is still one of my favorite parts. I craved to know who was the killer in the Randy and Stu scene. Then we find out the killers. That's right there's more than one folks, it's Billy Loomis and Stu Macher. Billy Loomis was all ticked off because Sid's mother had an affair with his father causing his mother to abandon him. Stu Macher....well....Stu was just out of his mind. I like these two as a combo. I found Stu to be hilarious and Billy looks really psycho. I really like the Norman Bates line revealing Billy is the killer and I liked Stu's as well.

Buy Scream on DVD. It has twists and turns that will leave you filling like you've just got off a roller-coaster after it's done.

Titanic (1997)
5/10
Pretty Overrated
12 December 2006
Many say Titanic redefined the "Romance" genre of films, others say it's a masterpiece for our generation, I ask them "how" ? I first viewed this movie when I was a child of 9 years old. As you may have guessed I hated it. Now I know what you're thinking, what does a nine year old kid know about romance ? Funny that you ask that because I didn't know a thing about it. I was a child who still believed in cooties. Then at the end of November this film came on TNT, I viewed it and still hated it. I'm 17 years old now. The thing that I hate the most about this is it's crappy dialog, it's as if it was written by a 6 year old kid. "A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets", This is one of the worst quotes in any movie I have ever watched. "I'm the king of the world", um, who still says that ?

The other thing I had a problem with the actual story itself. To me, they James Cameron just took a true event, stuck a soap opera into it filled with mediocre acting and one dimensional characters, and said "hey let's see how much we can rob from the public with this". They accomplished their mission, they robbed 600 million from the public. I don't even want to go into the times where Rose broke her accent.

All the characters in the film can be described in a couple of words.

Jack: Poor Artist. Rose: Spoiled brat. Cal: Snob. Ruth: Snob.

etc.

See what I mean ? The only thing good about this movie is the visuals, they were surprisingly good. The ice berg looked cool and the ships sinking was over par as well. This movie could've been excellent if they just upped the acting alittle, made some deep characters. Alast this film was made the way it is. Every time I see it, I hate it alittle more...

Surprisingly Entertaining
24 September 2006
Tommy returns to the grave to make sure Jason is dead and accidentally brings him back to life. Now it's up to Tommy to stop Jason's mindless killing and put him back where he belongs.

My opinion OK this movie is a DEEP sequel and to tell the truth it isn't expected to be Great or even average to that but to my surprise I actually enjoyed this film more so than I did the first. The death scenes were sorta clever and Jason to me looked at his best. The 1st scene was a little stupid though coming back through lightening get real. From then on was kewl and Jennifer Cooke's performance was pretty good as well. I wish they showed her boobs though but sadly they didn't have any cleavage in this film . I know shocking isn't it.

Also the way they killed Jason was pretty original. Having little kids there made it even better. Although this is the best in the series in my opinion its still just another Friday the 13th sequel there nothing special about at all and to tell the truth it had it shouldn't have ever been made just like all the rest of the F13 films after part 3. To tell the truth like Freddy said in the features on the DVD Jason is very boring and slow. He just walks *Hack hack* and then your dead hes not ruthless as most call hes teddy bear compared to the other killers and how they torture their victims.

People really like Jason for some reason I don't know why but I can't stand him I'm more of a Myers fan thank you very much. Although I don't like Jason this film wasn't so bad.

Very Overrated
24 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is very overrated in my opinion sorry to all the Friday the 13th fan boys out there but this film isn't what everyone says it to be. Its nothing like Halloween as people compare it and its just a slightly below average slasher. Thats it there really nothing special about it. Just to say this film starts off with well some teens making out and then suddenly there off'd by a anonymous killer who the camera won't show. OK I'll give it to them here that very cool to me not being able to identify the killer right of the back. Something that really bothered me though was the girls death scenes they were so stupid didn't even try to fight back at all just running tripping over stuff and then with the girl throwing boxes at the killer acting as if the killer is really terrifying when you find out. That the killer is just some physcotic looking nanny with a Christmas sweater and yes it was Jason's mom. GET REAL!!!! shes wasn't even the least bit terrifying. It was annoying at the end with the girl and the moms final showdown and the chick kept knocking the old lady out and she'd keep coming back. KILL THE LADY DUMASS don't just keep knocking her out. Then at the end the chick slices the old lady's head off the gore whatsoever. I was little mad but it was all good the final scene of the move was incredible I think thats what gave this movie most of its credibility when the son Jason Voorhees who supposedly dead pops up as a ugly disfigured child and grabs here and pulls her under the water. KILLER I really didn't see it coming it was OK I guess but it had its problems trust me but it did make me yell "RUN BITCH RUN!!!!! as hard as it to believe thats a good thing actually meaning I was kinda into it key Word: Kinda. Although this movie is adored by a lot and I mean a lot of fan boys it may have cut it for them but not that much for me.
