Man Vs. (2015)
Well Made... Bad Ending
This is a good movie but a disappointing ending for me. At certain points, before the alien appeared, I thought his colleagues were playing a joke on him (and I was hoping that was not true).
The acting and script are ok but after the last scene and before credits rolled, I said to myself, "No, no, no, that's it?" I would have liked to know what happened to his family and a little bit more information about the alien intruders. I get it though. Why dive into so much information about these creatures when the main part of the movie is one man's struggle against not only nature, but inhuman intruders.
Overall, definitely worth a watch.
The Haunting Lodge (2023)
Another Pathetic Attempt
Yes, another pathetic attempt to prove hauntings are real. They are attempting to make certain sounds and events paranormal when they are not.
And the pathetic psychic that comes to the house even suggesting animals when killed without respect, somehow threaten you in the afterlife (the boar).
It's so obvious they're trying to make you believe these events they're investigating are real and proving activity in the afterlife. I don't know how many times I hear the phrase, "Oh my God. Did you hear that?" "Did you see that?"
They are trying too hard to make us believe and that's why it's authentic crap.
Bedeviled (2016)
Face in my Palms... Just Bad
This was such a rip off from a lot of horror movies already made. There was even a clown and a red balloon!! Where O where have we seen that? An app that "feeds off your fear!?" You also have the typical character that doesn't believe it's actually happening and it's in everybody's head and they're just hallucinating. And they try to insert the fact of frequencies that are being received from technology as a possible culprit. Uhhhhh yeah right.
Bad acting. Bad script. The characters were just not believable. Just following the same old typical scenario that we see being pushed out in horror movies these days. My God even the killer's voice was a rip off from the movie Scream.
Come on people, can't we do any better than this???
Old Strangers (2022)
Why does every horror movie...
This movie was pathetic. First of all it's only 71 minutes long and 15 minutes of that is just people partying, making stupid jokes and having nothing to do with the plot. One of the three campers gets stung on his finger. Then, of course, he is now possessed by something. The origin of the evil is unclear. There is a lame chase at the end and flashbacks of the movie - which made it even more painful to watch. I just don't know who these people are that make these movies. And the sad part of it is that they think they're making a masterpiece. They are obviously funding their own movies.
The acting was bad. The plot was bad. The movie title is lame and music was cheesy. Just pathetic. It made me angry and nauseous.
The Swerve (2018)
Good acting, but oh so slow...
If you're suffering from depression, I would recommend not watching this movie. Not that it's so powerful that it will push you over the edge, but I can see in some instances during the movie where it could help make your condition worse.
With a lot of movies that are written and directed by the same person, they tend to try to be a little too dramatic and drag out scenes that have no use for it. Some of the scenes I had to literally fast forward as she's walking around a grocery store. I think the Director is trying to create something from nothing and it's just a waste of minutes.
Overall, good acting, but not a desirable movie to watch with friends.
