Shattered (2022)
Don't waste your time
Lilly Krug is unfortunately another nepotism kid, who only got the role because her mother was part of the production. And it shows. Embarrassingly, this seems to be a common occurrence on her resume. Really makes you question the integrity of everyone involved. But hey, welcome to Hollywood where nepotism runs the industry. The movie itself is just as you would expect. Nothing one hasn't seen before a trillion times and on top of that, worse than something one has seen a trillion times before.
Supernatural: Let the Good Times Roll (2018)
Drop The Editors
I am sad. I am actually sad. I grew up watching Supernatural. This show is my absolute everything. And seeing it go downhill like this is like slowly watching your beloved cat die but having your mom desperately trying to keep it alive. You don't want the cat to die but you also want her to stop suffering. That's what watching Supernatural is like since somewhere around S10. Don't get me wrong, S13 is the best one we've had since it went downhill. But either the editing is good and the story is terrible, or the story is good and the editing is terrible. In this case, well ... let's just say I've never seen such a ridiculous looking episode in my life. And unfortunately we've seen a lot of those these last few years. I mean seriously, all hands on deck. Who is responsible for this? Who is editing this? We've all realized that the budget isn't looking good these days but what on earth was that? I've seen kids on YouTube do a better editing job than this. Not even a sixteen year old would've pulled off such a cringy freeze frame at the end. I can't believe someone actually sat there and thought this would look cool. Don't get me started on that whole church thing. I really can't find the words to describe how ridiculous that was. The most cringy trumpet music I've ever heard in my life while two angels fly across the room and ... slap each other in the face? The whole thing looked like a bad comedy scetch. The writing wasn't bad this episode. I actually liked it. But why did you have to ruin it with cringy music, cringy editing, cringy vfx and whatever the hell else there was? I really don't want to sound like an ass but for the love of this show, fire whoever is editing these episodes and bring in some new editors who actually know what they're doing. I love this show. But you guys have to start fixing it before it ends absolutely tragic and stop constantly bringing back old characters who have already died a million times. This whole killing everyone off thing and bringing them back over and over again as a desperate attempt to keep the viewers on edge is honestly turning into a joke. That's all I have to say. I'm looking forward to S14 with Jack. He really did save this season.
Supernatural: Advanced Thanatology (2017)
One of the best episodes so far
I gotta be honest, I'm shocked by how good "Advanced Thanatology" was. First of all, this episode gave me serious season one vibes. Everything fit perfectly. The writing, editing, music, vfx, the whole cinematography - all of it. I was really surprised, I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen! We haven't had such a good hunting case in a very long time. It was super thrilling to watch, I was on edge most of the time while watching. The comeback of Billie actually made sense and wasn't a low excuse to bring her character back. The dots were connected and that is something that I think we saw rarely these past seasons. The scene between Dean and Billie was absolutely amazing as well, who ever is responsible for it deserves a bonus. And finally - for once Dean didn't lie to Sam about what happened and actually told him. The ending with Cas was really well made as well. I'm impressed with most of the season so far! This is how every episode should look like. Hopefully it stays that way!
Supernatural: Patience (2017)
Dean's behavior - completely out of character.
The episode started out good. Bringing Missouri back was a nice touch, until the all so typical "randomly killing off characters for no reason" started again. Another desperate attempt to keep the viewers on edge which has always failed immensely on the show, but for some reason, the writers keep doing it. Spoiler alert: everyone is sick of it at this point.
Besides that, the episode was okay. The story continued with Missouri's psychic granddaughter, which was quite interesting and thrilling to watch. I liked her. It was nice to have Jody back as well, Kim Rhodes is an excellent actress (not sure how to feel about the whole Wayward Daughters idea though).
I really like Sam and Jack's relationship. I'm glad that Jack didn't just go batshit crazy and that he has Sam helping him now. Sam knows what it's like to be "the monster" and to not know how to channel his powers the right way. Jack is struggling and I'm really looking forward to seeing his development this season. Just .... please don't mess it up by making Dean be the one who's going batshit crazy and scaring Jack away with his super untypical behavior against Jack. I'm actually kinda glad that Sam finally confronted Dean about this. It makes absolutely no sense! We've seen Dean change his views against monsters a hundred years ago when he met Benny. Are we really just going to ignore his character development? Who is responsible for writing Dean's lines? I'm gonna be honest, Dean is really starting to get on my nerves.
Supernatural: The Rising Son (2017)
First time in three years an episode actually gripped me
The Rising Song is the first episode that actually had me on edge since the Season 9 finale three years ago. This was, in every aspect, a really good and gripping episode. And that is exactly what the show so desperately needs nowadays. The last 3 seasons completely failed to impressed me. The writers completely took the excitement out of the show by randomly killing off one character after another just to keep the viewers on edge, which failed immensely. If you don't know how to shape an episode (or a season in that matter) in order to keep the story exciting and fresh, quit your job. Because that is what completely messed up the show over these last three years. Robbie Thompson was the only one, who was able to save some episodes with his genius writing. Which is why I was so genuinely shocked by The Rising Son. This is how every single episode should look like. This is the least of what this show needs. So good job on this episode, guys! You really impressed me and most of the fandom. Jack is the new favorite and finally brings in that fresh air the show so desperately needed. Same goes for Lucifer. Mark is an absolute amazing actor, every scene is on point. I wish I could say the same for Jared though. I know he is an amazing actor, we have all seen it in the earlier seasons. But the writers completely block him from showing his skills in front of the camera by always giving him the same lines that we already heard a hundred times before. But that applies to all recent episodes. Another thing that should really be acknowledged is character development. Which, once again, is being completely ignored. After Benny, Dean changed his views and was much more careful when it comes to monsters, angels and demons. But well, apparently that is forgotten? Dean's views and actions on Jack made absolutely no sense this episode and were far away from his character development that we saw years ago. But besides that, The Rising Son was a really good and thrilling episode that we so desperately need more of. Please keep it up!
Supernatural: Alpha and Omega (2016)
I'm overwhelmed
Before I get into the episode, let me just tell you that I've read the other few reviews and all I have to say about that is that you simply cannot please everyone. I'm active on every kind of social media and I know that a ton (!) of people enjoyed this finale, just as much as I did. Supernatural has gone through a lot of changes lately, referred to the switch of writers. However, the writing of this episode was brilliant. Everyone, who denies this does clearly not have a clue about these kind of subjects. We've closed one chapter (God & The Darkness) and opened another one. And as always, it's terrifying because we don't know what is ahead of us, but as far as I can tell from the cliffhangers, it is absolutely thrilling. In a good way! I'm not gonna lie, the end of the episode had me in more than just tears. And this is the kind of effect a good finale needs to have on the viewers. An emotional and thrilling one. And as far as I can tell (based on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) the connection was definitely there. Of course this finale was not the best one, you can't have one fan-favorite finale after another. That's just not how it works. However, that doesn't mean that this one was bad in any kind of way. It was brilliant. The fandom was on edge through every minute of this episode.
The finale was great and I can't wait for what's ahead of us. These two cliffhangers were absolutely extreme (again, in a good way) and this is what keeps an amazing show running. Good job to the cast & team! Just don't leave us hanging for Season 12 ;) It's been great so far!
Supernatural: Safe House (2016)
Robbie Thompson - An actual hero
I don't know what to say. This episode had everything any viewer could have hoped for. Why is it that every episode Robbie Thompson writes is an absolute masterpiece? Hands down, this guy is a genius. Everything was perfect. The time leaps, the editing, the screenplay, the music, absolutely everything. This episode was not only entertaining but also heartbreaking. I got chills all over my body when the trapped souls started disappearing and Dean saw Bobby on the staircase. What an amazing scene. I'm currently re-watching the first season of the show and I was just thinking about how much I miss the "old style". Scary cases but always a little humor and sensitivity to comfort the viewer (and, of course, the awesome background music). This episode gave me that exact feeling back and it was absolutely amazing. Almost like coming home.
I can't wait to see what happens next based on Castiel/Lucifer and the darkness. Good job!
Supernatural: Just My Imagination (2015)
10 out of 10!
I absolutely loved this episode! Especially the first minutes of Sam and Dean being introduced to Sully. This scene was really well written, I loved their reactions. The whole process of Sam waking up, going after his usual morning routine and finding Sully standing behind him was great. It's always nice to get a glimpse of the Winchesters lives in the bunker. The cast was absolutely amazing as always and Richard did a great job as a director. Jensen couldn't complete his role as Dean any better this episode. The flashbacks were both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Seeing the younger versions of the brothers is always a huge thing in the fandom, especially when it comes to Sam. Sam opening up to Sully about his visions and the cage really had me in tears. It was such an emotional scene, I think I'm able to say that this conversation between Sam and Sully really touched my heart. Dean being captured was definitely an unexpected turn in this episode. The conversation between Sully and Reese was very emotional. Both actors did a great job in this scene. I loved how Dean was kind of apologizing to Sam by talking to Reese. He was clearly feeling sorry for not being there for Sam back when they were kids. Season 11 is amazing so far and we're all hooked on what's coming! 10 out of 10. Good job!
