It was so boring that I needed a pause or two. It has some nudity and tries to be an erotic thriller without any success. It fails also at being a thriller.

It has some "inovations", some scenes more close to real life, things done different than the majority of the stream productions of these days but fails to win any point because is still boring.

As of 2023, this has 3.8 point that I thing is about right.

Really cannot relate with any of actors, maybe they try their best but cannot feel anything, even in the tense scenes is still something missing, but al least some real life situations are present: dating struggles, how attractive are the money without effort, etc.

Some pointless actions in this episode, the story builds but some side stories makes no sense or the decisions/reactions of the participants are hard to believe/understand.

Everyone wants to have now in shows powerful women that take leadership but then are only masculine archetype, cannot manifest the masculine and then the feminine behaviour in a few seconds, that will destabilise a person, but we live strange times....in a decade we will see this and we will dismiss as propaganda, the same thing happened with the comunism, and many others before....

1. great music 2. very good looking male and female main actors 3. good chemistry between two main protagonists 4. shows you how a man with masculine energy and a female with feminine energy conquer each other. 5. a lot of people seems to hate this movie :) 6. from what I asked around mature women with feminine energy are loving this movie - ask yourself why?

The music is perfect! This movie is a perfect exemplification of a lot of real behaviors in the old Europe, yes, from my experience - even if I assume the book/scenario is fiction - the inspiration was on real facts/desires/behaviors.

You do not like it? For comparison, watch Lauren Bacall with Humphrey Bogart in "To Have and Have Not" 1944 and compare the sexual tension, femme fatale archetype and the "game" with the same from this movie. If you are not convinced then continue with "The Big Sleep" 1946, "Dark Passage" 1947 and "Key Largo" 1948. Then take a look at the more modern one, like "Basic Instinct" and ask yourself if is a problem with this movie or with yourself. If you are a man, ask the woman near you what she loves, hates and get arouse from these stories/archetypes - then draw your own conclusions. If you are a woman and the man near you needs some guidance maybe you can learn a few tricks and help your man to become a better one for you.

Watch this movie to learn about seduction, power of a strong woman, respect to a woman, love, passion, the price you pay when you go too far, respect of a woman for a man and the passion of a man for a woman - more about the pain and the suffer but also about the victory of conquer and love and be loved.

In this movie is so much psychology and human behavior than I asked myself who wrote this? from wikipedia: "Lipinska worked as a therapist-hypnotist. She enjoys sports and fitness as well as sailing." Do you need more to understand from where all of this is coming?

In these times, in Anno Domini 2020, such a movie cannot be done anymore in USA, not even in France or UK. It has been done in Poland, please ask yourself why? This is a painful lesson than we need to pass to our children!

I did the mistake to not read the reviews, man! what a mistake! So this is a 6.9 as of Dec 2017, it should be 2.9.

So this is the movie where Jennifer Lawrence decided to reveal her breasts, really? For this piece of crap? Why?

Sure, has a nice beginning and some nice technic but after 45 minutes you understand that is too long, it just dragging and dragging to an WTF end.

Analogies, symbolism, metaphor, art? No... just crap.

I won't be surprise if this will become a cult movie and tone of people will explain to us how incapable we are to understand real art! Good luck with that!

The idea is good, the actors are great but the rest is not so good. As of December 2017 this show is rated 8.4 with many of 10. I do not understand this because this show lacks a lot of things, it is a constant run to a final destination that, we will find out, is not final! I suspect is inspired by some real facts and events, this is good and informative. I like that the show goes against the political movement of the moment and is anchor in reality but seems very unlikely that a 'family man involved with drug money' can have the time and energy to do all that things. Very unlikely!

I struggled to see all episodes, again, the actors are great so I was hopping for a grand finale or something similar but no, the final is exactly as the rest of the episodes, dull and running to a destination that is not there. The problem with this type of strategy is that the public will be disappointed because makes impossible any end of the story or conclusion. Yes, the main character is smart, but how smart you can be until somebody else will outsmart you? I suspect the writers can do only one thing and one thing only. If it will go with the same peace in the second season then will become apparent how boring it is. There is no desire to see the next episode or to continue, I hope it will end with this one. Related to the characters: the wife is smart and dumb in the same time, sometimes hard to believe but we can buy it. On the other hand the daughter is the dumbest of all and in some moments the writers are trying to make us to relate with some of her drama - hard to do. Also it is an FBI plot, but again is a not very smart one and cannot believe that FBI lacks a proper management structure. And why a gay FBI agent? What is the drama here? What is the point to be made? Related to nudity and explicit scenes -> I had the impression that are more gay "action" scenes than any other ones, none are designed to impress you, simple boring ones - gay or non-gay, all are bored, why? Because are unnatural, implausible and lacks artistic value.

Do not loose time with this one, this is a case when good actors and acting cannot save a bad script with a lot of unbelievable and ridiculous situations.

Somewhere in the future, a couple have a romantic night and a swat team pay them a visit to kidnap the girl. The man, aka the hero, is receiving help by phone from a mysterious voice and leads him to a high-tech company. This hero is confused but focused, something that is hard to comprehend. Also, why in the future is still a need to use wiretap is beyond me.

The visuals are nice, but the movie is annoying with repetitions and image shaking. It is like the whole point is to make you confuse, or maybe the Director thinks that you cannot focus so everything needs to be explained. The movie main point is the identity but why confusing people when this subject requires a clear discussion? Maybe some money to be spend?

I agree, Sam Neil and Isabelle Adjani gave performances of a lifetime but it is not enough to make a movie good. As Oct 2017, this is rated 7.4, so for sure over-rated. Isabelle Adjani looks amazing in this movie but I think this is as far as it goes related to good points. Constant screaming made my ears bleed, I understand that the Director had some bad events in his life but what is my fault to suffer? It is a long movie, 3 in one, with a lot of irrelevant scenes and dialogue that makes no sense. It is visible that the people involved had some good ideas and talent but the final result is faulty. Don't waste your time in watching this, except you want to see Isabelle Adjani with some amazing green eyes. At the end you will very bored and disappointed because it should had been shorter and better. A very good plot for a "Twilight Zone" episode but ruin by the desire to make it a movie.

I have mixed feelings about this movie, it is not too slow, not too fast but somehow you still feel strange. Schuyler Haydn made just one other movie before he died in a plane crash, so this movie has also a historical value. Schuyler Haydn looks perfect in the role of psychotic folk-rocker. I think what disturb me the most is the nice-bad boy, in my personal opinion, the most shaking personification of devil in movie and in reality. The movie is doing a good job in showing the evil in such a way that you will never want to encounter such a thing in your whole life. The other similar nice but bad evil impersonation, that I found also disturbing, is Mark Pellegrino in Lucifer role from Supernatural series. Evil as bad is easy to understand but evil as nice is hard to comprehend. This is the feeling that I had during the movie and it is hard to believe it was done during the '60. It is not boring and somehow manage to have the same speed from the beginning to the end, showing how a life with bad decisions can end up in only one way. Of course, all with some of the era exaggerations in acting but will be easy to forget because are only short moments. The scene between the main personage and his father has some deep dialog. In current times, we see such a scene usually at the end of the movie so you may wonder what the movie has still to show after this point, I will let you to discover and you will not be disappointed. I think is a good movie that had never had a change to be a hit because of the nice evil personification, watch it not for entertainment but for having a meditation about evil in life and a travel to the '60.

We are in 2017, a movie with a plot from 2 decades ago is something that we should not see anymore.

Some actors are trying but the script is not helping. Do not lose time with this, just skip it.

A team of pro is re-joined to solve a situation, situation that it is very clear for the audience from the moment of entering in the building, you will be like "I know what it will happen, I know who did it". So it is no fun, no mystery, nothing new, nothing innovative.

I waste my time with this, just do not do it. Both actors are fine but is just not the right type of movie. Save some time and skip it. I am surprised by the R rating: "R for disturbing violent content, strong sexuality, nudity and some language", maybe technically because I didn't saw any "strong sexuality," and nudity is so badly used that you will not notice. Something is not working with this movie, maybe is the Director, Cate Shortland, or maybe the script but definitely is not a 6.3 movie. This is a bad movie, a nice try but clearly a bad movie.
