Cute but not always believable
9 April 2024
I'll start with the positive: it takes place in the Alps, so the scenery is magnificent (especially the hot-air balloon scene). Kristy McNicol is just adorable in this movie. You can't help rooting for her. And the overall message is quite positive ( you have to accept yourself the way you are and other people will love you for it)

But...the first 45 minutes of the movie are a bit useless. She has 3 love interests who bring absolutely nothing to the rest of the movie. She's a concert flutist, but she could have had any job that would bring her to Europe. The script is pretty cheesy overall.

But it brought me back to the mid-80's, when I was a teenager...the hair, the colourful clothes, the synthesizers... nice little movie!

Epic movie but....
20 August 2023
Don't get me wrong, this is an epic movie. The scenery, the large crowds, the battle scenes,etc... The actors for Gandhi and his wife were excellent, but the rest of the cast sometimes made me feel like I was watching a soap opera. And the movie is very long and, let's be honest, pretty boring. I also felt like some of his life was glossed over (was he really that saintly??) And what about his children? They were seen as little children in one of the first scenes, never to be talked about again. But it is a must watch if you are interested in learning about this man who played a great role in modern history.

Wonderfully absurd movie

... but if you're a little faint of heart like me, may I suggest you skip the Live organ donation and Fat man in the restaurant sketches....

What an awkward movie....

Warning: Spoilers
The chemistry between Monroe and Olivier seemed false from beginning to end. It's the first movie I see with Olivier and I can't say I'm a fan. Some scenes were incredibly drawn out. The story was charming though (showgirl prevents a European war!). And I always like a nice ball scene.

The way he treats his wife...
8 January 2020
After watching 3 episodes, I can say that I love the wit and the dark humour...BUT if my husband were to blast an air horn in my face or dump a glass of water on me while I was sleeping he would get a black eye!! I fail to see what's cute about that...

The moral of this story
21 September 2019
I watched this episode with my 19year old son. At the end I asked, what's the moral of this story? Always answer when your mom calls!!

Good movie, but pretty gross

Too much bodily fluids for my taste. But I liked how the characters interacted with the camera.
