Melancholie der Engel (2009)
Watch if you dig deep real deep, gore, depraved, philosophic stuff
This is the perfect example for a movie that is trascendental, controversial, and at times, provocative for the sake of it, and at first glance, many watchers would label it as pretentious; but there is acrually something else behind that layer. There is real and truthful artistic inspiration and purpose. I don't really care if nobody else ever reads this. I just wanted to state the fact that, despite being among the most disturbing movies you can ever watch, the feeling that this film gives me is not nearly the same as most of the greatest disturbing movies, it is indeed something else; a combination of nostalgia and, of course, melancholie. Something that you can only find for yourself by giving a real opportunity to this piece, Marian Dora's masterpiece and future underground cult classic.
Big Hero 6 (2014)
This should've been the new standard
I don't give it a perfect score, nor do I give it a bad one, the reason is because this film was indeed very important to a lot of people, including me, and the fact that there has never been a sequel released, makes me understand a lot of reasons why Disney is failing in today's entertaiment industry.
This right here, could've perfeclty been the start of a franchise. I dare to say that the world this movie proposes is a lot more original than we usually see. Also the characters are very memorable, and the development of such is satisfying, since the script and narrative is good enough to keep you watching through it all. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes superheroes and motivation stories. It is one of Disney's post-modern classics and it should be remembered. And for you, Marvel fans, this is basically a nice blueprint example of what Disney would later do with Marvel's licenses.
P. S: The main song by Fall Out Boy ft. Demi Lovato was a big hit at the time, and it fills me with a lot of nostalgia and joy everytime I listen to it. Long live rock n' roll!
Wreck-It Ralph (2012)
For all you guys who grew up with this movie
Warning: This is a comment full of nostalgia. Why? Oh well, let me answer: Because this is one of the best 3d animation movies made by Disney, apart from the name of Pixar, this is one of the first and most important big successes on 3d animation by Disney. And it is made for both families, children, and gamers.
This movie is so good it almost feels like it's made by Pixar, much like Frozen and Zootopia, this is one of the very bests of its time. I would even dare to say it has more depth than Zootopia and Frozen, mainly for people who are gamers; since there are so much easter eggs and carefully added details in this movie, that it's almost crazy.
This movie paved the way that, in the future, movies like Sonic The Hedgehog, and Super Mario Bros. Movie would follow. I personally will always carry the experience in my childhood's heart, and the choice of playing Owl City's "When Can I See You Again" at the end is a magnificent sensation. I don't consider this last sentences a spoiler, since you have really watch the movie to experiment that feeling.
P. S: The villain of this movie is in fact, one of the very best we've ever seen in any Disney movie. Fight me.
Me Before You (2016)
Movies that make you think are good
I am currently in a stage of my life where I no longer judge books, music, or movies by its cover. If any work of art ever catches my eyeby any reason of attraction, I always try to save it for later and make my own mind about it. And this one, in fact, is one of the first movies to make me realize there is a lot more to the romantic genre than catches the eye. This is a marvelously told tale on the subjects of time, space and love, which unravels with the care and subtlety that any romantic movie would love to do. It becomes at times more of a philosophic statement, rather than a romantic tale, and it makes you wonder what other amazing adventures are there to discover, both by yourself in real life, and in movies... The answer? Infinite.
Shameless: I'm the Liver (2015)
One of the best episodes I've seen to this point
Incredibly funny, yet clever and trascendent. The comparison between Debbie and Fiona at the end of the episode just hits you down to the marrow. And those hauntingly beautiful guitar notes left me feeling one of the charmiest voids I've ever felt.
This is probably the realest tv show I've seen in terms of teaching you to be street smart. But more than that it teaches you empathy and instrospection into the very deep waters of human nature. And it is so damn successful at that because if you take this show even lightly focused, you will learn to connect with each developed character, and then you will see how they reflect different parts of you, and everyone you know, with some nurturing realism.
