Leslie Charteris will be spinning in his grave. Did anyone involved with lamentable production ever read the books?

The Spy Who Loved Me
(1977)
Final film we showed at Odeon Lowestoft
27 June 2019
It is one of the best of tbe Roger Moore Bonds...overtaken only by Golden Gun. For me this film was ruined by the appalling "acting" of Mrs Ringo Starr, Barbara Bach. A beautiful and handsome lady with absolutely zero talent as an actress. I have seen church pews with more talent. I have to say I scored this an eight despite Mrs Starr and as it was the final film before we closed our Odeon it holds many many bittersweet memories.
Waking the Dead
(2000–2011)
A Brilliant Series
14 March 2019
Well acted and sensitively portrayed characters. Storylines were excellent. I do not recommend watching the series at a binge sitting... I did not notice during the first weekly viewings...but the character of Spencer Jordan....portrayed by Wil Johnson comes across as a spoiled brat...throwing tantrums if he did not get his way..or even if he disagreed with the actions of his boss. If he was working for me he'd have been out on his ear... The portrayal by Wil Johnson was sufficiently strong for me to want to turn the programme off on more than one occasion.
Other than that excellent. Without the spoiled brattishness it would have been given 10 stars rather than 9.
Bones
(2005–2017)
Excellent cast - good stories - until series 7.....

......which frankly started to put me in mind of a Mothercare advert. Too much goop about babies...
Not at all what I was expecting having read most of Kathy Reichs' work, but enjoyable and well served by an excellent supporting cast, notably TJ Thyne and Michaela Conlin. Even the terminally irritating characters of Sweets and Daisy became less annoying with time.
It's unusual to see a programme in which there are no main characters you can't connect with. In this case they are all easy to like sympathetic characters....even the interns. Good job fellas.
Midnight in Saint Petersburg
(1996 TV Movie)
A Second inferior offering from Harry Palmer.

All that needs to be said is do not try reliving the good times if of the past....it's never as good...and so it goes with movies. IPCRESS, Funeral in Berlin and to a lesser degree Billion Dollar Brain were masterpieces of their time. This and Bullet to Beijing are mediocre straight to video type films...nice workmanlike films...but you can never recapture past glories. I hope that Harrison Ford takes this on board when he thinks of reprising Indiana Jones..
Demons
(2009)
Purely for Holliday Grainger
19 November 2018
Ms Grainger was the shining light that lifted this from utter mediocrity. The young male lead must be utterly thick and tasteless not to fall for her.....which made this whole programme even more unbelievable. I gave it 8 stars....7 of which are for Holliday Grainger....
