One of the Best WWII Movies Ever Made!
29 April 2017
I can't say enough about this movie. Firstly, your dealing with the people who (since day day one) always play the part of pawn, cannon fodder and war dog. Often found walking point, cleaning toilets, fixing trucks you find the black guys in the military. But when it counts in "the clutch" and lives are on the line it's when these men have often risen above the rest. So as the cream rises to the top this move is rich with STORY (you know lacking in most movies any longer).

Intertwined storytelling and excellent dialogue makeup the bulk of the acting scenes. The lighting, coloring schemes and overall appearance are lively and always seem to provide wonderful depth. Often I was surprised at how playful the soundtrack and audio was for this film considering rather dark content (no not the actors you racists).

But with high caliber props, thoughtful and expertly filmed action sequences (on par with anything I call a keeper for my collection), vehicles and WWII memorabilia. Enough eye candy for any WWII buff. The high points for me are literally too many to nail down. I am not lying when I say it was as "pretty" as "Band of Brothers" with the acting (spoken dialogue) of a top notch mafia movie; all executed so very well, bravo guys! I would honestly love to see many many more black guy war movies (IT'S ONLY FAIR Hollywood!)- Budget is important and so is teamwork. This film to me represents something that could kick off top grade future movies with heart, bravery and lovable moments. Time to find more moves by this director and team! Oh me? - White 40-50, Denver, Colorado, Pot Smoker and lover not a fighter :)

I watched it 3 times on all possible screens at the theater.
20 March 2017
I am 42 and a normal sci-fi loving fan. Not the comic-con or anal retentive prick (i.e. comic book guy) who loves Star Wars and has never had much issue with any of them and loved Empire of the first 3 releases.

This is a truly inspired film that (FOR ONCE) was made for the fans (by what I assume are fans) and some very fresh thinking on the telling of the story. Me...bored on Saturday morning went to Matinée and it was packed. I had no idea this even came out (shows how nerdy I am). I sort of remembered the last movie as being wicked fun at the box office but only OK back at home on 2nd viewing.

This had me so confused until the end but in doing so I was hinged on every moment trying to wrap my head around it all. Then as the end "happens to unfold in rapid succession" I literally broke out in tears!!! I was simply astounded by the gripping nature of the action (similar to Edge of Tomorrow) and depth of the story development. It had something that TROUNCED my sci-fi mind and all I can say is that someday an AI will be examining all things related to MAN and MACHINE. The AI will know I cried once at the death* of a machine.

All I know is that I am so often let down by paying to go the theater I hardly ever go. This is one stop I will never regret making and have now gone back to see it on IMAX 3D twice.

Sorry guys...
7 March 2017
Black Mirror, The Outter Limits and The Twilight Zone were among the legendary Science Fiction anthology films of all time. Substance and telling stories about human nature from new perspectives.

This on the other hand comes on strong and you really get the vibe from those legendary films but then falls flat after a peak midway through the series of short sci-fi short films.

I can't say much more without trash talking and pointing out that since it is an anthology they could really have tried much harder to perfect the selection (there are others out there that would have made this a top notch compilation of shorts.

Julian T. Pinder - A very very talented human being.
7 March 2017
A bit of background is needed here. I watch a great deal of documentaries and although I enjoy entertainment movies as well I specifically wanted to see this as it referenced many notions, experiences of my youth. I have not been to Yellowstone but I did grow up in this region. I also am an Investigation Discovery Channel fan. So seeing a legal documentary about a murder in an area I grew up in sounded like a worthwhile viewing. So this video appears in a search of documentary.

So now were into the film... no spoilers just remarks follow. Julian T. Pinder - This is straight up "True Crime" documentary and I am simply astounded by all I am hearing from the family and the "confession" by Dwayne Nelson. So far the film is 100% the real thing to me.

This is simply an excellent story. As with anything the story is the heart of the matter. I have to say without knowing a thing about this film I was masterfully told a deep, twisting story through the vehicle of a true crime documentary with 100% of the styling I like in those shows.

I also cannot call this anything like a "found video film." Those seem to suck a bit in my opinion for various reasons and I know it's more a generational thing to enjoy those types of movies but this film is made to be "the real thing" which by acting standards is a tough job. You really have to believe the people and especially in the aftermath of tragedy. The heroics, the sleuthing, the discussions, the players....shucks that is why I watch these crime shows so often and this film was like a very special presentation (of the highest order) as the story progressed. Was it over the top, hell no! It features everything I am used to seeing and very real occurrences that play out across the nation with murder.

So in a word from someone who watches endless hours of video (no one will hire me, been heading towards homelessness for 2 years now)....this film is Brilliant. Well acted through and through (maybe not the camera man?), the presentation is painfully spot on! I am very happy I knew what little I did going in and literally grinning by the credits. I won't give away my thoughts on the "tells" that gave way to the illusion of the documentary and making it start to feel like a movie, a work of fiction. I really didn't want to mention that as I stated this Julian Pinder guy is a rock star with this thing. It seriously blows so many big film budgeted movies out of the water easily and would be on par with - The Life of David Gale (2003).

Incarnate (2016)

A review from a 42 year old sci-fi fanatic
13 December 2016
I seem to be forced to write a review every now and then to counter the teens and 20 somethings that think they need to review every freaking thing in front of their heads. As an adult I can say comparatively speaking in regards to Exorcism, Possession, Evil doings and all things of the nether world this flick is worth the ticket. Aaron plays his role out fantastically (enough that I teared up at times) and until the end of the movie you will see the moments that hearken back to the decades previous releases but this one certainly offers a unique twist on the understanding of good vs. evil.

I found myself nodding early on as a former Catholic and someone who just read way too much to keep believing in Santa Clause or religious super heroes I will say that I have plenty of room in my mind for universe yet untold that retains the secrets of untold, infinite galaxies (Hubble has scratched the surface and soon a new version of Hubble will be hurtling around the Earth).

The cast is just fine and spot on with the sincerity in which they convey their emotional portrayals. I know full well there have been other releases over the last 7 years that fulfill most of the requirements of this genre but Incarnate has heart and an emotional connection I thought was somewhat left out or diminished in the other movies of this similar nature.

As we hear Aaron's arch nemesis character say in the movie "There are some things far worse than death"

The Unspoken (2015)

Perfect Scary Movie for The Normal People
2 November 2016
No torture porn, no gore fest, no perverted garbage. Just your basic scary movie with enough chills and frights to make you uncomfortable while viewing.

It was nice to see the girl from Dark Matter playing the lead in this film and to see her in a new light. I was hooked in the first fifteen minutes as you keep wondering why certain events are shown and certain rumors exist in the town where this takes place. In fact the ending even provides a nice albeit humorous twist as well.

So if you enjoy psychological thrillers and a fairly unique plot that unfolds quickly in the end then you may find this move as fun as I did.

Feel good tension with added war drama
13 April 2016
I have to say that I expected "less" going into this. But it was a cold day and gray outside. I felt that since it was mid day I would watch something I could easily nap to and not stress about missing the show.

No napping took place as the movie has a smooth pace and a tension filled, techy and problematic storyline that keeps you tuned in to see what happens next. That said, you will find this movie is low budget but the acting and activity are really good. I felt that if I had seen this on TV one night I would go nuts talking about it at work the next day.

So if you like WWII "Stuff" and your in the mood for something not filled with smooching, heavy violence or drugs you will indeed find time well spent watching!!! Be sure to pay attention so you don't get confused at the end.
