Short film on arrivisism in the workplace and on women's dignity
27 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
As already explained above, I prefer the most feature films and short films from the 90s and early 2000s but I do not disdain the "new" works as always and in any case we need to keep up with the times (not just in cinematographic terms) and the 12 minutes de "Portrait of an awakening" were really well spent. The first thing that caught my eye was the title itself, and only in the end it is possible to trace the meaning of what I have just seen because Chiara's awakening of conscience takes place, which ultimately does not yield to a sort of sexual mobbing based on arrivism. And this is the central theme of this little film, because the ambition can also lead to give all of themselves ... in all senses, a very current condition, to be considered a real vice that stains everyday life by stealing and denying the charisma of those who are intelligent by nature, showing that being good is not enough. For example, the colleague of the protagonist is a striking example since playing the cards of femininity manages to blow the job to his colleague, the latter initially bewildered about what to do, not to say insecure, and then get up at the last minute first place his dreams and his dignity as a woman. I can only affirm the validity of the short, the actors in my opinion have a theatrical setting, especially the lover of Chiara, I particularly appreciated Maurizio Pulina, a character not really positive, much in part in the role that supports or that of a coordinator who plays good game bad weather, a versatile actor with the right pauses, (this is important) I consider him competent in all respects. Definitely to follow and to keep an eye on future film works. For the rest, everything is well done, ad hoc music, acceptable sequences and current issues, especially in this period of economic crisis and values. I promote the short.

short film from the right alchemy
26 January 2018
I have seen this short film after having discovered its existence on IMDB (the most famous site on the existing cinema) and I must say that viewing it did not displease me at all, among other things, I am a great admirer of the 90s short films. "The thousand blue bubbles" sings Mina and I associate the song with the film; who knows how many couples, like so many bubbles, break out before flying. The short film in my opinion has a metaphorical aspect and that's why I appreciated it. Often the really important things pass before us, unnoticed. Not at home or at random happens sooner or later something that makes us open our eyes and makes us understand that what we seek far, often is close to us, just look at it with other eyes as happens in the final sequences of "The soap." In fact, nobody is perfect, but you can try to be. I found the actor's acting really valid, he does not have that TV or fictionistic aftertaste typical of the nineties, although he has never followed any other work in Valeria Cavalli and in Beppe Tosco their roles are adherent to the characters they interpret, they do not "slip" on no occasion. A sentimental crisis in which the director Vittoria Castagneto exploits the "formula" or "the right alchemy, which is why the short does not make" water "anywhere. I really liked it, I mean it! Appreciation also to the music and the scene, it makes a certain effect to notice all those soaps scattered everywhere where not to mention the final foam, so I conclude that the short film was not made with two lire. Very good the director, the actors, the technical staff and all those who have ventured into the making of this little film.

Interesting short film 2003
26 January 2018
I discovered this short film by chance and I must say that I did not mind seeing it, I found it quite interesting. "The second apple" has a strong surreal grain, the end of mankind caused by something that is not specified, (certainly not by war or atomic bombs) in which the last two forms of life, a man and a woman, represent a sort of alter ego of Adam and Eve (here I explain the meaning of the title of this short film) instead of procreate to "reborn" the world find themselves discussing as two engaged, although still have no physical contact. I confess that in some sequences I smile, after all the short in question is not dramatic, if anything dramatically humorous if I am allowed to say. It is said that "man does not learn from history" and I add also from women, in fact the last remaining behaves as if it were the only ... in every sense, sending the poor man for various errands until you get there to become eunuch because of a suitcase with an attached trap. I found this little short film graceful, the dialogues are replaced by the signs, a good choice, like silent cinema, making "The second apple" even more surreal, sometimes a little dreamy, (see the sequence interpreted by Jacopo Pelliccia) with a background music that adheres to the story. I reiterate that the final ratifies a true and definitive "The end" for humanity, perhaps in a certain sense it was destined to end in this way. Bravini the actors, including the "dead", there is still an acting despite the absence of spoken dialogue and then there are natural movements of "Adam" and "Eve." In short, this little film wants to release a message in its own way and I can say that it succeeds, through expressionist sequences, perhaps even introspective, although it is not perfect in the realization (due to the limitations of the indie cinema of that period, for example seems shot in vhs ), however, is left to view from the beginning ... in the end! I liked it.

A film treatise on the many difficulty of setting, sentimental or simply psychological
16 November 2017
t's been a while since I did not follow Korean cinema, and I've been back with Angae, I have to say that I did not mind watching this movie at all. Going to the very heart of the matter, what I have seen is nothing but the drama of a man named Yun Gi-yun fleeing to return to his hometown to find himself when he himself had left Mujin years before evolving trying to forget about a difficult and unmanaged youth. He is tempted to "look for" in this country lost and not known in the fog through misty sequences worthy of note. Stunningly structured work for the standards of the era beginning with the flashbacks that make the plot even more eloquent and certainly also plays a key role because of the convincing act of all actors (no one excluded), and despite the The film's shortness of time (it's not long enough for only seventy minutes of vision) is all that suffices to enhance its history, mainly thanks to large sequences made by dialogues that I dare say very but very relevant. It should be noted that the film has a mild eroticism and a clear criticism of the South Korean economic period of that decade, or large cities like Seoul considered as Balocchi countries and small villages such as Mujin rather alienating where the inhabitants live in a life only made of expedients, poverty, negative resignation, as forgotten by the world. The part where the prostitute who has committed suicide is found, clearly showing what I say, not to mention other abusers who populate Mujin, fog and heat are the cornerstone of the story, the sense of identification is there and it is it is useless to deny it. To mention the beautiful Ha In-Suk, which in the very first sequences I imagined a Yun Gi-yun flirt, in fact, between them two actually burst into something, though they both seem confused as the girl wants to go to Seoul with or without him, while the protagonist feeling the weight of responsibility makes it all culminate with a farewell. "Changing everything to change nothing," said Giuseppe Tomasi of Lampedusa and indeed Yun Gi-yun and Ha In-Suk return to their old lives and I think they will never forget the little they have lived.

A Charlie Chaplin in a modern and set in the present
4 November 2016
The 'I just watched. Really fun, it can at times be considered the official result of the famous "The Kid". This short film indeed it manages to recreate the original spirit, setting it to the present day. The use of graphic signs, black & White, the skill of the actors make this surprising little movies as well as remarkable. Too bad that the director has directed exclusively this short film, because according to this his direction that I think very valid, He would surely have made other good film work. Anyway I recommend watching ten minutes very well spent and who manage to pay homage in a concrete way that cinema once !!!

drama eighties truly remarkable, openly denouncing the exploitation of prostitution and the patriarchal society from an ideological point of view. To see, it's worth it!
28 October 2016
I saw last night this beautiful Korean film eighties. It's been months since I see no one and I chose to see "Ticket" as enticed by the synopsis. I consider this film a truly remarkable and a valuable and interesting storyline. showing the emotional and economic depths of four women (though in a sense we can say five women) who are forced to adjust to a Korea of the past decade, as a waiter "very special" in a "Ticket Bar" that Korean coffee were among the many things that were offered extra services including primarily (after negotiating) sexual performance by these girls, who come from every part of the country (especially from the poorest parts), in order to easily raise the money. According to what I read in the web, the film for the treated subject, has been the subject is objection, so that the original film, especially in the final had to appear different. The strong elements are not lacking (nudity, aggression, sexism etc ...), but still nowhere near the explicit content and touching. Nowadays films so in South Korea are honey candies. but at the time to try their hand at films of the genre, it was not easy. I feel I promote this brave attempt to Kwon-taek Im drawing a valid film and effect, even if at the same time very underestimate. At the time he moved mostly criticism instead of the public and the powerful message that was to bestow, alas, has gone unfairly unnoticed. Maybe "Ticket" was made a few years later in which the censorship would be much less demanding and with the advantage of having more freedom of expression. For obvious reasons the film would have earned and could be released in the original version with no cuts or limitations.

A crime movie with a sound policy framework
11 October 2016
I watched with pleasant interest and participation this work unique film by Stefano Mignucci and chagrin after reading some reviews on the web and comments from some users, the feature is unfortunately underestimated. I admit that the film is not without some flaws, deficiencies, or smearing, but I found "Bandits" a good movie, where it is mixed wisely, "drama", "noir" "Crime" and with a hearty well integrated political framework and apt in the context. The film presents some veins (whether voluntary or involuntary) "comedy", for example about the late and great actor Renato Mori but also the rest of the cast is not far behind. Well ... this lightens choice and makes smoother the film. The film has the dark shades, for both the represented context, both for the environments and is at the technical level where they are used cinematographic equipment perhaps a little contained but effective, higher making the atmosphere of degradation, corruption and discomfort. I do not know how to explain it but it is as if the film was moving in a kind of parallel reality, in fact, it seemed that "Bandits" had a something of surrealism. It must be said that this work before Mignucci many elements are very present even today and chaotic and dark times we are experiencing. The overall performances of the actors stood in medium-high and Ben Gazzara is undoubtedly the best and do not say this for the simple fact that it is the protagonist. Although not many shootings are beautiful to see and the blood effects really pretty good.

What else to say? I would promote this film, has certainly not changed the history of cinema, but I found it very interesting and current, not bored and and the kidnapping is managed in my view in an original and atypical, with a final perhaps a little too hasty but effective and functional.

Great Korean film about the Korean War
25 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Film of war, or at least mainly of war, as it cleverly mixes with the right doses, other ingredients and denotes in a concrete and intelligent handfuls of intellectualism, individualism, political and social ideology (which I still have to admit very truthful) but ... without exceeding or falling into simplistic rhetoric. Some sequences are quite violent and crude, such as suicide with the gun of a partisan, or the killing of a boy partisan (seriously wounded) by a companion The film is very long, lasting more than hard hours, a film that can be a real building block for those who might want a quick predominantly of war / action movie, so I feel compelled to recommend it only to those who not only have patience, but also curiosity and desire to discover and to acculturate as the film in question, is based on a memoir of Tae Lee, and then for obvious reasons, is based on true events and of which this film adaptation is considered FULLY failed. The location, for example, rarely (and I kid you not) in a Korean movie I've seen so used properly ... give the viewer the feeling of being there to fight and survive together with partisans What else to say?

I consider myself a vital film that has clear links and similarities Piagol and that "highlights" once again the supporters of North Korea as people and not as the personification of evil, and we see a good evolution, beginning with the 'initial enthusiasm for the struggle that aims liberation, and then transformed gradually into a struggle for survival, which is one of the most impressive parts of the film. A Sunk-Kee Ahn almost perfect and partly.

Short film comedy, but not only ...
24 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
"The bad vampire" in this second part does not disappoint my expectations. To say that I liked is an understatement. A short film that maybe yes, it is fun, bright, comical, but ... has a depth and denotes reflection, especially in the sequence in which the child forces the poor vampire watching the special photos and with a remarkable background music, definitely the most poetic part of this small film, also the child is tender, especially when he tries to console the poor vampire. Based on what you want to represent the short, the child is more frightened by the evil that surrounds our world, rather than as characters out from the imaginary literary or film, the true horror so is our society. Very good interpreters, I have always had great admiration for the actor Pietro De Silva, and here, as always, is very, very good and excellent acting. The child played by Veronica Visentin is not far behind. Albeit brief, sympathetic even the introduction of the figure of Frankenstein starring the late Gammarota valid. All this is also about a very viable and successful direction, and the right pace. So in conclusion: W cinematography nineties !!!

one of the best dramas seventies
14 May 2016
I consider it a very thick scripted. Usually I prefer dramas 80 years, those 70 years I usually always labeled them enough soporific .... but with appropriate exceptions. "The Dutchman disappeared" it is, about a beautiful and charming place of Venice, combined with a solid plot and a surprising (and enigmatic) final, I can not recommend the vision. The final interpretation is ... I rather think that Eric Vansee deep down was inside with all shoes. The murder of Betty remains unsolved ... but it gives me the impression that it was he. Another that remains outstanding is that two members of the gang managed to escape and then Professor Maniago ... another emblematic figure and remains the doubt that he too was involved in the murky affair. The corpse from the severed head ... who was it? Too many unanswered questions, or at least I repeat, each his own interpretation.

The Abe Clan (1995 TV Movie)
8/10
One of the best samurai movie ever seen. It does not seem even remotely a TV movie.
4 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It was not long ago that I indulged in watching a Japanese film mainly because I love Korean cinema, but accidentally I came to "The Abe clan".

I was impressed by this film, really well made and well acted, a film based on a folk tale which in turn was inspired by the real events, and to my mind was made a really good successful implementation. I must admit that the Bushidō code of those remote times was atypical, especially when it came to suicide. Forms of idolatry and respect the limits of the unthinkable, where everyone would give his life for his master .... just crazy and unthinkable in today's world. Bushidō code provided for the death or rather suicide freewheeling also for the rest of the family ... outbuildings children. Just terrible.

This film is considered a drama by the harsh tones, with good action elements, the blood can assure you that will not fail. Analyzing briefly the last twenty minutes, it is in fact witnessing a (memorable) brutal carnage. The thing that surprised even me was that I discovered (thanks to IMDb) that "The Abe Clan" had no theatrical distribution but a born product directly to the TV .... wow !!!! Qualitatively speaking not really notice. Also analyzing the settings and the characters and everything else, it does not seem even a film of the nineties ... in fact rather seems a samurai movie of the seventies. Really very good this film !!!!

short film with a documentary style
4 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched the short film in question and do my warmest and sincere congratulations to those who made it, I loved it! This short is very different from what you see around, primarily because it is made with a documentary, there is virtually no drama, everything is improvised (including the Arab fun maccheronico Bruno de Stephanis) and then because in a short less than ten minutes this little film is successful in representing a seemingly different world ... but in reality instead is not so! Obviously I will not reveal the "plot" (although the word "plot" is an understatement in this case) for those who want to challenge themselves in the vision of this short film of which I recommend watching!

Short film with a good dose of black humor
2 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Spectacular and beautiful is an understatement I promise one thing: I've never been a fan of Leo Gullotta (although the Sicilian like me), but in this short I learned to appreciate as never before. I first liked the choice to use black and white and were stained some things ... wow never seen such a technique. Very particular. The short is very tasty and very sympathetic, denoting black humor, and is very interesting as the story unfolds. It may seem exaggerated in certain points, such as the scene of the electric chair. In Italy there is the electric chair, perhaps the director wanted to create a sort of alternate reality, on the other hand the short has a surreal side quite high and certain scenes are dreamlike nth degree Are without any critical comments, of course! Indeed it is this that distinguishes "The Cigarette" Finally sincere and warmest congratulations to the director and all the cast for making this short of good quality!

Apart from the beautiful protagonist, this horror film did not like. bad enough
26 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
After being starved for almost a year about the contemporary Japanese horror genre, I decided to watch this Japanese little film! I have always been picky about the horror, they left quite biased from the start about the final outcome of the film and that I should not expect too much from this Zombie Dead, d 'on the other hand is NOT a feature film but a film by Home Video, (a very popular method of distribution in Japan) for which often limits and willingly than professionally made films are noticed. The film has too many things that should never be, he will first claim to be a kind of Survivor Horror, we find a protagonist who is the "situation" on the surface, the expressionless secondary characters, zombies that fall, get up and attack when pleases, suspense and fear almost zero .... There would be too many things to say but I will stop here ... in fact another thing in the cover of the protagonist sees Satomi holding a gun, in truth, there are no guns in the film, there are bars, wrenches, sticks. ..but no guns or rifles. Well, maybe the cover was created to better attract, on the other hand also the eye wants its part. Indeed about eye, the 'actress who plays Satomi though not have any particular artistic ambitions I have to state that it is very beautiful and very sexy, for example, the scene in which it is tied up and kicks him barefoot zombies I found it very sexy. In the end I think that the director is aware of turning something unappetizing, to make it more flavorful, he has made this beautiful actress in this film thus making the film less boring. But this is not enough to achieve sufficiency in this cinematic product.

A sort Road Movie dramatic but with a hint of humor.
26 March 2016
Finished viewing right now! I think that the kind of "suicide" within film has been treated in all ways and in all possible genres but this time we are in front of something original, in fact, this Japanese film did not give me a sense of already seen, the director He has chosen a particular style and also unpublished, a sort Road Movie dramatic but with a hint of humor. The 90s were for Japan (economically and socially) particularly dark, with the peak of the highest suicide history, the film in question makes it clear complaint and the director shows it openly. There are white-collar workers laid off or reduced in pavement, fathers of families who can not make ends meet, the sociopath who does not believe in anything ... any for all tastes! The film is very slow, but for myself it was not a problem, d 'on the other hand a high amount of Japanese films are structured and filmed so especially if you are facing the dire and dramatic arguments as in this case the suicide. I liked it? It is the movie I liked, but you could tell better and in a way a little more complex the story of the characters, inserting maybe another twenty minutes longer and bringing the film to a total duration of two hours, would have helped to make "Ikinai" even more interesting. It is not a movie for everyone, the film leaves important messages, I do not recommend it to those looking for a relaxing and movies fast.

was impressed by this film and the bitter end
25 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This "Yeong-ja in Her Prime" turned out for me a great movie, a movie done well, shot and performed with skill and professionalism The master released by the Korean Film Archive is something spectacular.

And a very dramatic and bitter film, the viewer can not help but feel sorry for the poor and in love with Chang-of wriggling, spitting blood (in all senses), time and money to the unfortunate Young-Ja.

Very wise friend of Mr. Kim Chang-su that with his advice and his remarks warns him but the latter will even blinded by love trouble. Final then .... guessed, right and above denoting resignation. I will not describe the plot, this film and see, one of the few films 70 made well in South Korea.

I was impressed by this film and the bitter end.

Film good social issue
25 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Film dealing with particular abundance the bad psychological conditions (and also physical) of Korean women of the period was (in this case 20 years) This film I liked enough, there are no long-winded dialogue, on the other hand there is not need it, in this "Spinning the Tales of Cruelty Towards Women" the viewer has time to notice and see for all, as rapes, submissions , deprivation, slavery .... and what definitely not least the sex that the woman "INTENDED" not for their personal pleasures but useful and necessary to procreate ONLY On this (and much more) of the rigid based Korean company, a patriarchal society ruthless and tough. What about what I would like to point out the interesting scene in which Kil-rye (believed to be alone) try to masturbate, this scene makes you think, is short .... LEAST in his solitude, or rather in his heart was trying to be free , to be whether SAME, The film has a fairly slow pace, but the director has delighted us to some action scenes, I think it's a nice find at least the film so it is a little less heavy.

Korean-US production of fine workmanship.
25 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Finally after days of waiting, this morning The Marines Who Never Returned I arrived home and I immediately slingshots to see it. Lasciatemetelo say: Truly amazing! This Korean film since it has been realized by means of a co-production with the U.S. We can clearly see that the budget used is more higher than other numerous Korean war movie of the time and this is affected positively. The explosions are spectacular, the weapons when firing are very bad and look real, and the actors look like real soldiers, not only about acting but also by how they move, how they cover, how they attack. It is said that "seen a war movie, seen them all", it is not so because this time this film does not give a sense of already seen, has a soul and a story! I do not know it was based on a true story, but I would just criticize the English title "The Marines Who Never Returned" because virtually anticipates how it ends. Better the other title "Marines battleground". For the rest of recommended movies, and high-involvement!

I consider myself a pretty cute movie despite the necessary limitations, not only horror but also opera to end up on the "revenge movie".
25 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished watching and I must say that despite the due limits the film will enjoy it enough This type generally produced in Japan films, were (and are) in some way their size also in South Korea, although professionally and qualitatively could not (and fail) to match the Japanese colleagues. The Pubblic Cemetery Under the Moon despite the horror context is the predominant one is not only, in fact there's more! There is a good blend of melodrama, surrealism, fantasy and then finish on the typical Asian revenge. Although there are quite disturbing scenes in my opinion the film never does really afraid, even involuntarily tends to carnival, this mainly due to special effects and sound to good. However, despite a slow start The Pubblic Cemetery Under the Moon tents after the first forty five minutes scroll rapidly, it is not a long film, in fact lasts about ninety minutes, with a final expected yet adequate. Recommend the movie to fans of the genre perhaps out of curiosity would like to explore the beginnings or rather the beginning of the Korean horror film but also to those who want to watch a movie unpretentious.
