Fantastic!

The more I watched this the deeper embedded I got into these beautifully deep layered characters and their extraordinary complicated family lives.

Regardless of where you live or what religion you are, you will find pieces of yourself and your family here.

Superbly acted, and so rich in so many human emotions - I have watched this over and over again.

A familiar story of a father and son who struggle to see eye to eye - but truly love each other... and a wife/mother and husband who are trapped within the pressures of modern society ... and a fierce daughter struggling to find her place in this world. One of the best series I have ever seen. I couldn't recommend this series highly enough.

It is so much more than you think!

A film for everyone

A visually stunning Australian film that has worldwide appeal for people of ALL ages. The themes about family, friendship, love, loss and loneliness are universal and rounded out with a message of hope for a better future. This is a throughly enjoyable and emotional "retelling" of Colin Thiele's book of the same name which has been in print for over 55 years. This is not a remake - this is a retelling and should not be compared to the 1976 version. This film stands on its on merit, it is beautifully shot and superbly acted. It's a remarkable film that will stay with you forever.
