The Batman (2022)
"I Am Vengeance"
The Batman. A solid new start to a Batman Franchise and a fresh new take on this famous DC character.
Which goes for a more detective drama angle to The Dark Knight and pulls if off really well and this could be an awesome new Trilogy for this character.
The characters are great and the performances are amazing in my opinion love the adaptation of The Riddler and its a brilliant villain that is a fantastic performance.
Robert Pattinson really surprised me as Batman and i must say he did a great job in the role and I would say he's my 3rd favourite live action Batman.
However I think his Bruce Wayne needs work in my opinion.
Zoe Kravitz also brings a great new style Catwoman.
The story is great and the mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat and the action and fighting style is awesome and definitely more realistic which I enjoy.
There's alot of twists and turns and i love the fact they go for a more detective style to the story and to Batman which reminds of old Graphic Novels like The Long Halloween which is great.
My only issues with the movie is that it can be abit to long sometimes and does feel like it drags a little bit.
However the mystery does keep you interested but does feel long in my opinion.
I also don't think Andy Serkis suits Alfred he was good in the movie but for me just didn't feel like Alfred.
However my main problem is the least interesting character In the movie is Bruce Wayne now I like Robert Pattinson as Batman but his Bruce Wayne needs work the reason being is it feels like there's no difference between is Batman and Bruce Wayne he feels like the same character when he's both in and out of the suit which makes him less interesting in my opinion.
Verdict 8.5/10 a solid start and a great detective drama style for The Batman some great performances and a wonderful mystery with some great twists and turns.
Some minor issues it can be abit to long and Andy Serkis dosent suit Alfred in my opinion.
And Robert Pattinson needs to work on his Bruce Wayne and make him different from his Batman to make him more interesting. But this is solid start.
Star Wars Rebels (2014)
Star Wars Rebels Review
Star Wars Rebels. Another fantastic show from Star Wars and another one of my personal favourites.
With amazing stories and awesome new characters introduced to the universe this show is a great watch.
The story in this show is great showing a group of Rebels during the Imperial Era and showing how they fit into the bigger story and how the show ties into the movies is great.
It also serves well as a follow up from The Clone Wars bringing back characters like Ahsoka and Rex.
The animation is great as always with these shows and like Clone Wars it just improves with each season.
I also like the design of The characters they bring back from Clone Wars like Ahsoka and Rex you can tell there's been alot of time passed with them being aged up which just makes it feel more like a sequel.
Also this is my favourite design of Ahsoka.
The action is great there is some great lightsaber moments with Ezra and Kanan.
Also the story arc for Ezra is awesome and you see him grow so much in the show and he became on my favourite characters in Star Wars.
My only issue with the show is the first season can be a little slow at times.
However it really does pick up the pace when you learn about Fulcrum the they start working for the Alliance.
And when Ahsoka is revealed to be Fulcrum that's when Rebels finds it stride for me but the first season can be slow at times.
However the show is great. Great action and a wonderful story that connects really well to the movies and is a great continuation from Clone Wars.
Also love the characters introduced especially Ezra who has become one of my favourites.
Also the Villains are great i like the Inquisitors and bringing back Thrawn was great.
Also Maul comes back and plays a massive part in the story and is in my favourite episode with him finding ObiWan.
Verdict. 9.5/10 a fantastic show with a great story and wonderful characters introduced and serves as a good follow up from Clone Wars.
Minor issues with the pace of the first season and it can be a little slow.
But this is a fantastic show for any fan of Star Wars.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)
The Clone Wars Review
Star Wars The Clone Wars. A fantastic TV show set in between episode 2 and 3 telling the story of the War between the Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems.
This show is fantastic and one of my favourites from Star Wars The scale of this show is amazing and it really shows the full depth of the War and the stories are some of my personal favourites set in Star Wars like the Mortis Trilogy.
The show also introduced me to some of my favourite characters like Fives, Rex and Bo-Katan.
Also love Ahsoka who is one of my favourite jedi and I love her journey through the show.
I also love the way the Clones are handled in this show they make them feel more human and the character development for them is great.
The Animation is great throughout the show and you can see it improve with each season and in the final season it's perfect.
Especially in the final story with Ahsoka and the Siege of Mandalore and the way the show ties into the movies is brilliant.
My only issue with the show is the first seasons narrative is all over the place and it feels like it jumps about a little to much and for me the show is at its strongest when it starts to focus its stories and starts doing multiple story arcs.
However this show is fantastic and one of my all time favourites some amazing stories and the action is incredible and they do more character development for Maul aswell making him one of the most interesting characters in Star Wars.
Verdict 9.5\10 a fantastic show and some of my favourite stories like The Mortis Trilogy and the story with Fives and the final season is perfect. Some minor issues with the first season but an amazing show for any fan of Star Wars.
Star Wars: Visions (2021)
Star Wars Visions Review
Star Wars Visions. A great series of short stories set in The Galaxy Far Far Away.
This was a breath of fresh air for Star Wars and has some interesting ideas and some fantastic new stories.
Visions is a great anthology series that brings some great new concepts to Star Wars with each episode telling a different story and a having a different animation style which was a fantastic way to keep the core concept of Star Wars but do something unique.
The show had some great characters like Ronin from episode 1 The Duel and Kara from my favourite episode The Ninth Jedi.
The other characters were done great aswell i also really liked F from The Village Bride.
I'd love to see more stories with these characters.
The animation in each episode was great and kept the show fresh and interesting with each episode and I really enjoyed seeing each creator's different visions for Star Wars.
The action in most of the Episodes was brilliant and the Lighsaber Duels were really well handled and suited the animation.
Also the music throughout the show was great.
The only issues i had with the show was I wasn't a massive fan of the second episode Tatooine Rhapsody it just didn't do anything for me as a Star Wars fan.
Also they go a little to far with powers in The Twins episode it had some interesting ideas and was a fun episode but just went a little to far in my opinion.
However this is a great show and a breath of fresh air for Star Wars.
My favourite episodes are The Ninth Jedi and The Village Bride they add some great Idea's to Star Wars and I'd love to see more from them stories.
Verdict 9/10 a fantastic show and some great stories and concepts introduced to Star Wars.
Some minor issues with some of the episodes and Tatooine Rhapsody isn't great but this was great experience for a fan of Star Wars.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Episode 9
Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. A great film and a decent way to end the Skywalker Saga this is a franchise I've followed for years and it's never dissapointed and this was an a great ending to this trilogy and decent finale to my favourite saga.
The action and the effects are incredible the Lightsaber fights are the best in this new trilogy and the space battles are always amazing. Seeing Lando back was fun and the new characters are cool.
The characters are fantastic I love Reys story and the reveal of who she is works for me and it makes sense as to why she is so powerful Daisy Ridley does an amazing job in this movie. However the highlight once again is Kylo Ren I love this character he is interesting and the way they handle him in this one was fantasic and a great way to end his story.
Leia is fantastic and they pay so much respect to Carrie Fisher and its a great send of to her character and her as an actress she was handled really well and Carrie Fisher will always be missed and I'm happy she got the ending she deserved.
My only issues with the movie are Palpatine coming back is never really explained and thats disappointing to the story i like him being back and the fact that Snoke was just a clone of him was cool but needed more explanation.
I also felt like the action although it was great the movie was to quick the pase was to fast and the movie never had to chance to breath and slow down.
And once again Finn was wasted in this one which is ashame he could of been an interesting character but they didn't use him all.
My favourite moment is there's a scene with Luke and I loved it they handled Luke brilliantly and the scene is emotional and the music is amazing Luke as always been my favourite character and seeing him learn from his mistakes and help Rey was fantastic. But they do a play on my favourite moment in Star Wars from Empire Strikes Back with the Xwing and its fantastic and that scene got me one of the best moments in Star Wars.
Verdict 8.5/10 I liked this movie its a great end to this trilogy and a decent ending to the saga as a whole great moments and great reveals some issues with the plot but a fun end to an epic Saga.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Episode 8
Star Wars The Last Jedi. The controversial entry in the Star Wars saga and I have to say I love this one in my opinion it's just as good as The Force Awakens and it tells a bold story and tries to take this trilogy in a new direction.
The effects and action are brilliant I love the opening with Poe in the Xwing was a great to open this movie. Rey is really interesting in this one I like the idea of her being no one its a great idea and it adds more questions about character and adds to the mystery.
Luke Skywalker I really like in this one he is very interesting to me and its a different take on the character I love the lesson he has to learn in this one that all masters have failed and that failer is part of live this is a burdan that all masters must face. He made a mistake and I like that he learns from it.
Luke also in this one proves that he is the true hero of this saga he sacrifices himself to save the resistance and makes sure the Jedi lives on he is the true of the saga. Also Luke projecting himself across the galaxy to help shows how powerful this Jedi really is.
Rey and Kylo are great in this one and the connection they share is really interesting she really tries to help him in this one even when he kills Snoke she still wants him to be good but Kylo still wants to let everything die and is still being manipulated by the Dark Side.
My issues with this one are I'm not a fan of Finns story on Canto Bight it's pointless and it's wasted story element that dosent really add anything to story.
The Lightsaber again are lacking in this one I like Throne Room fight but again I've seen better in the prequels. I also don't like the Leia flying scene.
My favourite moment is definitely the scene with Yoda and Luke learning that masters have failed and shows him that failure is a part of the Burden that Masters have but Jedi will always life on Yoda giving Luke his final lesson is amazing and so nostalgic.
Verdict 8.5/10 a great sequel some minor issues with the story especially the wasted story elements with Finn and a lack of Lightsaber fights.
I like the story with Luke and he again proves he is the hero of the franchise.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Episode 7
Star Wars The Force Awakens. A fantastic Star Wars movie with new interesting characters and the old characters returning to pass on the torch to a new generation of heroes.
I enjoy this one alot the new characters are amazing and interesting and I like Kylo Ren and Rey. Seeing the old characters is also amazing I love seeing an old Han Solo and Old Leia it's seeing them again everything they've done.
The action is great and the effects are amazing and the look of this new star wars is brilliant to see.
I really the character of Kylo Ren he is definitely a highlight for me in this new trilogy. I also like that he's Hans son it's such a great moment when that's revealed.
Rey is also an interesting and there's a great mystery behined her in this one and the whole new trilogy. When the Lightsaber calls to her in this one its very interesting.
Han Solo being killed was a great moment and its so emotional especially Chewies reaction.
Now the only issue I have with this one is its basically the same story as A New Hope and it hits some familiar beats in its story and I just wish I would so something different.
Also the Lightsaber are a big step down compared to the Prequels in my personal opinion there ok but just not as good as the others.
I'm also not a fan of only seeing Luke at the end its a cool cliffhanger just wanted to see more of him.
My favourite moment in this is definitely when the Lightsaber calls to Rey its such an interesting moment and builds up the mystery behined Rey. I also like when she's fighting Kylo and she finally uses the force to focus herself the music makes that scene amazing.
Verdict 8.5/10 fantastic movie which introduces a new generation of heroes and a new story to move forward with. It does hit alot of familiar story elements to A New Hope and the Lightsabers aren't as cool as the other movies but its alot of fun a good sequel.
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)
Episode 6
Star Wars Return of the Jedi another Masterpiece in my favourite movie trilogy this is my second favourite movie in the franchise. A great story with Luke now being a full Jedi Knight and his last mission is to face Vader.
The opening to this one on Tatooine is my favourite opening in a Star Wars movie its just incredible and Luke kick ass in the beginning with his Green Lightsaber the effects and the creatures look incredible especially Jabba he still to this day looks amazing.
The battle of Endor is incredible and I for one don't mind the Ewoks I think there a great addition to Star Wars and I like the idea of something so small defeating this big empire.
The space battle is great and has some wicked effects. I also really like the final scene with Yoda it's a great emotional moment.
Palpatine is amazing in this one and his a great villain and the acting by Ian McDiarmid and he plays the role to perfection as always. I love the twist that it was all a trap by him to end the rebels once and for all.
My favourite moment in this one is definitely the final fight between Vader and Luke it's my favourite Lightsaber fight in the whole of Star Wars I love Its full of emotion and I love the moment Luke dosent turn and wants to stay a Jedi its a brillaint character moment. And Vader turning good again to save Luke was amazing.
Verdict 10/10 a Masterpiece and the final chapter in my favourite movie trilogy so many great moments and the Lightsaber fight in my opinion.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Episode 5
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back. Another Masterpiece in the Star Wars Universe and this is definitely my favourite in the franchise and is definitely the best story they told.
The opening to this movie is fantastic and the opening battle on Hoth is a great scene and great to watch AT-AT Walkers looks amazing and the effects still hold up to this day.
Luke is amazing in this one and has now had some training to become a Jedi its so interesting seeing his journey in these films and he's one amazing character. He also goes to Dagabah in this one to meet Yoda and get some more training and love the scenes on Dagabah.
We also meet some characters like Lando and Boba Fett two of the most iconic characters in the franchise. The scenes on Cloud City are fantasic and the betrayel by Lando is both shocking and interesting and the fact that he learns from it and becomes one's of the good guys is awesome.
And I love how the whole Cloud City is to get Luke there in a trap and the fight Luke and Vader is fantasic and the reveal that Vader is Lukes Father is still one of the greatest scenes in film history.
My favourite moment in the movie is my favourite moment in Star Wars when Yoda gets the X Wing out of the Swamp the music is amazing and I love how Yoda shows Luke that size dosent matter the force is the force and when your strong with you can accomplish great things. "do or do not there is no try". Such an amazing scene I've always loved it.
Verdict 10/10 a Masterpiece of a movie and my favourite in the star wars saga everything about this movie is fantasic the music the action the story and to end it on a cliffhanger was amazing.
Star Wars (1977)
Episode 4
Star Wars A New Hope the beginning of the original trilogy and my favourite movie trilogy of all time and this movie is a Masterpiece just like the other two entries in the original trilogy.
This movie is fantasic and an absolute masterpiece in my opinion from the opening scene to the end its just an interesting story exciting action and great wonderful characters.
Luke Skywalker is an amazing and had always been my favourite in star wars it's starting of a farm boy who wants to do something more it's a character we can all relate too.
Han Solo is awesome and is character arc is amazing seeing him be a scoundrel and then go to being a hero and someone who actually cares is a great story arc.
Darth Vader is the best villain ever put on screen so evil and imposing perfectly voiced by James Earl Jones such a great villain who has stood the test of time.
This movie has always blown me away and I've always loved it the music is brillaint the action and effects still hold up to this day and its just a fantastic movie the story is simple but you can tell there is more to this universe.
So many great moments them saving the princess and Obi Wan giving Luke the Lightsaber was such an incredible scene. I also love the shot with Luke looking at the two suns on Tatooine the music is great.
My favourite moment in this movie is definitely the Trench Run and the destruction of the Death Star its a great moment in movie history and still blows me away today.
Verdict 10/10 a Masterpiece of a movie and the start of my favourite movie trilogy this is Star Wars and I love the characters and the story its tells the music is amazing aswell.
Rogue One (2016)
Rogue One
Rogue One A Star Wars Story. A fantastic story in the Star Wars series that adds alot to A New Hope telling story of how the Death Star Plans where stolen.
The characters introduced are great Jyn Erso is an amazing character to bring into the Star Wars Universe. I also really like what this adds to the Star Wars Universe even answering questions like why the Death Star has that weakness it was her father who put it in on purpose to give the rebels a chance.
The effects are amazing and the technology used to bring back Tarkin and Leia look amazing and seeing Tarkin in Star Wars again was really nostalgic for me. Krennic was an interesting character and played a decent villain.
Darth Vader has some really great moments in this one and definitely one of the best moments in Star Wars with him killing the Rebels at the end such great scene. I also really like the moment on Mustafa and Vader on that planet again ties in the Prequels really well and the fact they got James Earl Jones back was genious.
My only real problem with this movie is we don't really get a chance to bound with the characters it's more about the mission rather then the characters. However there are still some emotional moments like when Jyns find out her father died but its more about mission and what that mission does for the big picture in Star Wars. And the journey this film takes us on is awesome.
The space battle on Scariff was amazing and definitely the best in Star Wars it was Phenomenonal to watch and the effects where amazing and its definitely my favourite moment in this film the whole third act up to seeing Leia is just pure Star Wars.
Verdict 9.5/10 a fantastic Star Wars movie with a great action and great new characters it also adds alot to A New Hope and answers alot of questions about the Death Star and how the rebels stole the plans. Some wicked Vader moments aswell and the final act is just pure Star Wars.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Solo
Solo A Star Wars Story. A good film and fun entry into the star wars however in my personal opinion its the weakest of the series. This movie in my opinion wasn't really needed and dosent really add anything to star wars.
I like Han Solo in this movie and I like seeing him meeting Chewbecca and Lando and seeing do the Kessel Run was awesome and really nostalgic for this Star Wars fan. The new characters are interesting and I like Beckett.
The action is great and it's a simple great story but it's basically the same story arc the Han goes through in A New Hope he is a scoundrel and then due to the events he becomes the hero. It's just the story surrounding his arc is different this time its all for substance called Coaxim which is used for Hyberfuel but the Crimson Dawn want to use it to spread death across the Galaxy.
My only issue with the movie is it really dosent add anything to the Star Wars and everything Han does in this we know becomes a smuggler gets kicked out of the Imperial Academy and does the Kessel Run it dosent add anything unlike Rogue One that added something A New Hope and answered alot of questions.
I also feel like story arc Han goes on is exactly the same he has in New Hope and makes you feel like the movie wasn't really needed.
That's not to say I didn't enjoy this movie I really did it's a fun simple story for a Star Wars adventure and it's got some great moments the effects are also great aswell the Darth Maul Cameo may confuse some people if they didnt know he was alive though but it does tie into Clone Wars and Rebels really well.
My favourite moment in the film is definitely the Kessel Run actually seeing it was pretty cool wasn't needed but it's was awesome to watch and now at least we know what he meant now in A New Hope.
Verdict 8/10 a good but the weakest Star Wars movie in my opinion it's a fun simple story but dosent really add anything to star wars apart from adventures we know Han has been on. I like the actors and the action but the movie wasn't really needed still fun though.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Episode 3
Star Wars The Revenge of the Sith. Another great film in the Star Wars series and a highlight in the Prequel Trilogy showing the end of the War and the rise of the Empire in this epic prequel trilogy conclusion.
Hayden Christian has his best performance as Anakin and Ewan McGregor as mastered the role of Obi Wan in this film. The characters we meet are awesome like General Grievous a Kaleesh warrior who has been turned into a cybernetic and is skilled in Lightsaber combat and collects them of the Jedi he kills he is such a brilliant villain.
There are some great lightsbaber fights especially the one with Obi Wan and Anakin at the end of the movie and The fight between Yoda and Sidious was really great. The effects again where amazing and outstanding to watch
I really like seeing Kashyyk and seeing the Wookies. I also really liked the ending of the movie and how it sets up A New Hope seeing Luke and Leia being born and sent to where they need to be setting the events of the original trilogy.
The emperors plan really comes in fruition in this film and seeing build up and bulle over the prequels is definitely a highlight of this trilogy and he is definitely the part of the story.
My only issues is again some jedis are wasted and don't get enough development and I'm not a fan of how easy Palpatine kills 3 of the most powerful there should've been more of a struggle in my opinion.
Also Padme is ruined in this one I feel like she is to weak in this one unlike the previous 2 installments were she was strong badass character.
My favourite part of the movie has to be the scene in the theatre when Palpatine is telling Anakin about the story of Darth Plaugies the wise its brilliantly acted and the lore it adds to Star Wars is very interesting and you can see Palpatine pulling the strings slowly turning Anakin.
Verdict 9/10 a great movie with a great story and a great set up for the Original Trilogy. Great lightsaber fights and a great new villain in General Grievous from the opening ship battle to end with Luke and Leia being born this movie is a thrill.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Episode 2
Star Wars Attack of the Clones. A another great entry in the Star Wars series and a great sequel to the Phantom Menace. This has some great moments and has a great Final battle on Geonosis showing the start of The Clone Wars.
The action is amazing and the effects once again are spectacular. I love seeing more of Anakin and Obi Wans relationship it's awesome to watch and really shows you what Obi Wan was talking about in A New Hope.
The love story I really like between Anakin and Padme and seeing Anakin slowly fall to the Dark Side with the little hints that it gives like killing the sand people after his mother dies is amazing.
Being introduced to Jango Fett and seeing the origins of Boba Fett was a great idea to tie both trilogies together. And I really like the Clone Army and seeing the start of The Clone Wars it was great to see and the effects on the Clones still hold up. I also really like the design of The Kaminoans.
The only issues with the movie are again there are some Jedi that don't get enough development and they had the opportunity to use them more in this movie in the battle and they didn't.
Also not a fan of the last Lightsaber fight in this one I don't think they quite nailed Yodas fighting style and it looks a little odd in my opinion.
New villain Count Dooku is very interesting and I like him alot. I also like Hayden Christian as Anakin he plays the role really well some of his line delivery is a bit off but for the most part he plays a brillaint Anakin.
My favourite moment in this one has got to be after Anakin has killed the sand people and he's telling Padme about and how he couldn't save is mother its such an emotional moment and you can see the frustration in Anakin.
Verdict 9/10 a great movie and great sequel to Phantom Menace again some Jedi are wasted and in not a massive fan of the last Lightsaber fight but another great entry in this saga and one that shows more of Anakins fall to the DarkSide.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Episode 1
Star Wars The Phantom Menace. A Great movie in the Star Wars saga.
Showing the beginning of this epic Saga. Now I'm not saying the prequels are as good as the Original Trilogy but I still love them.
This film has alot of great moments the Lightsaber fights and the Pod race are worth it alone. The effects are amazing and I love what this adds to the lore of Star Wars.
Seeing the Jedi in there prime is amazing to watch and seeing the beginnings of some of my favourite characters like Anakin and Obi Wan is awesome. Qui Gon Jinn is one of the best characters introduced in Star Wars and is brilliantly played by Liam Neeson.
Darth Maul is a fantastic looking villian the design of him is amazing and a little creepy. This film added alot of interesting lore to star wars like Anakin being known as a chosen one who will bring balance to the force. And the idea of Midi-chlorians which help jedi connect to the force.
Now my only issues with the movie is there are some Jedi that don't get enough screen and dont get enough development in my opinion like Kit Fisto and Plo Koon and that's an issue throughout the Prequels for me.
Also Jar Jar can be a little annoying sometimes in my opinion.
Seeing Anakin as a kid is awesome and knowing where he is going to end up is really interesting and I like this character alot and his journey in the Prequel Trilogy is amazing.
It's also interesting seeing the beginning of Palpatines plan he literally planned all this so Padme would vote a no confidence in Chancellor Vallorium and he could get power slowly planning his rule it's so interesting to Watch.
Verdict 9/10 a great movie and definitely and this was the first one I saw in the cinema so it always holds a special place for me.
It's alot of fun and a great movie
Seeing the beginning of the epic Saga and its awesome to see the jedi in there prime.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
The Suicide Squad Review
The Suicide Squad. A fantastic comic book movie based on the super villain team of the same name with some interesting characters and an interesting direction from James Gunn.
This movie is a blast and one of my favourites from DC.
The story in this is simple but effective.
It tells the story of Taskforce X being sent on a mission to Corto Maltese to destroy a Nazi-Era laboratory which holds a secret experiment called Project Starfish.
The characters are great in this one and they all work really well together.
Especially Peacemaker, Bloodsport and Harley Quinn who were the highlights of the film for me.
I also really like the new interesting take on Polka-dot Man with him being experimented on with a Virus that gave him his powers its was an interesting adaptation which worked really well for the movie.
The action was awesome and every action scene kept you on the edge of your seat.
My favourite action scene was definitely the Harley Quinn escaping scene that had some great action and I loved seeing what everything looked like in Harleys mind with the blood being flowers it was a great direction.
I also really liked the Bloodsport and Peacemaker action scene with them both showing off to each other that was hilarious.
The effects were great and i loved the design of Starro and seeing him in a comic movie was incredible.
Also the effects on King Shark were great aswell.
My only issues with the movie is I'm not a fan of them copying story elements from the previous movie.
For example Bloodsports motivations is the exact same as Deadshots in the first movie.
However it is handled better in this one just not a fan of copying story elements.
However apart from that this movie is fantastic and one of my favourites in the DCEU.
This is also the best performance by Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn she plays the role brilliantly in this movie and she feels more like Harley Quinn.
Verdict 9.5/10 a fantastic movie and one of the best from DC great action, characters and a great story makes this movie a blast.
Some minor issues with some story elements copied from the first one but it's handled better in this.
And it's the best performance from Margot Robbie.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021)
The Bad Batch Season 1 Review
The Bad Batch season 1. A great start to this series which serves as a pretty good sequel to The Clone Wars which follows Clone Force 99 after the events of Order 66 and the end of the War.
The story in this show is great and has some interesting moments it tells the story of Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Crosshair showing there lives after The Clone Wars and shows them meeting up with an interesting new character in Omega and has them trying to find a place in the Universe.
The characters are great and really well handled in my opinion especially Hunter, Wrecker and Omega who are the highlights of the season for me.
I really like the intrigue of who Omega really is and the reveal that she is an exact Clone of Jango same as Boba was really interesting in my opinion.
I also liked how the show tied into other Star Wars media like Rebels with them showing a little Origin story for Kanan at the beginning.
I also really liked seeing fan favourite characters like Rex, Gregor and even Cad Bane.
Crosshair also made an interesting villain in my opinion and had some great moments.
My issues with the show and why I think Clone Wars and Rebels are better shows so far is there are to many filler episodes that add nothing to the story and characters and sometimes it felt like the story was going nowhere and that really let the show down slightly for me.
I also felt like the finale was a little anti climactic like I was waiting for a big reveal that we never got.
Hopefully we get less filler episodes in season 2 and more development in the story.
However this was a solid first season and good introduction to these characters and the universe after The Clone Wars and Order 66.
I also like seeing the development of the Empire and how they moved from Clones to Humans as Stormtroopers.
Verdict 8.5/10 a solid start to a show a great story and awesome characters.
But i felt like we could've gotten more interesting developments and the show was a little let down by to many filler episodes and a anti climactic season finale in my opinion.
Loki (2021)
Oh, Come on What did you expect
Loki Season 1. A fantastic first season of this new Marvel show based on the God of Mischief showing the story of his alternate self after the events of Avengers Endgame.
The story in this show is great and I enjoyed it from start to finish.
This tells the story of a Variant Loki now working for the TVA as they look for a female Variant of him called Sylvie who wants revenge on the TVA.
This was an interesting idea and seeing multiple versions of Loki was awesome.
The characters were really well handled especially Sylvie who was a highlight of this season for me and her and Tom Hiddleston played really well of each other.
Mobius was also a great character and was played brilliantly by Owen Wilson.
The idea of bringing the TVA to the MCU was really interesting and the idea of The Time Masters was an interesting concept in my opinion.
I also like how the show ends on He Who Remains and the reveal of him being a version of Kang the Conqueror.
This sets up the Multiverse and the rest of the MCU perfectly showing that this show is all set up and pay off which is excellent.
My only issue with the show is the first episode is a little slow in my opinion it was a cool story that delved into the character of Loki and his mindset but just felt a little slow for me.
But this show was fantastic and in my opinion the best Marvel show so far the acting was great and I can't wait to see more from Loki and Sylvie in the MCU.
The story in this show was set up and paid off perfectly.
Verdict 9.5/10 a fantastic show by Marvel and there best show so far in my opinion a slow first episode in my opinion but a fantastic story and the acting was great Sylvie was definitely a highlight for me and the idea of the TVA was interesting and the cliffhanger left me wanting more.
I can't wait to see how this effects the MCU going forward.
Fear Street: 1666 (2021)
Fear Street Part3 Review a solid conclusion
Fear Street 3. A solid final chapter in this great horror trilogy that concludes this story in a great way.
This is a satisfying ending but leaves you wanting more from this Horror Universe.
The story in this one is great and its also split into 2 parts which I found interesting. The first part focuses on the origin of Sarah Fier and how the curse started which was an interesting story in my opinion and there's a great twist on who the real villain of the story is.
The second part focuses on Deena and the others stopping the curse which Is my favourite part.
The characters are great once again and it's interesting seeing how everything connects in the universe with the curse.
I also like the idea of seeing the past through Deena's eyes its a great way to tell the story in my opinion.
The Kills are great nothing as cool as the Bread Slicer kill from Part 1 but still great and The Pastor was a great villain and really creepy in my opinion.
My only issues with the movie is they make it really obvious there is going to be a twist with the reveal of who is really behind the curse its a good twist just a little obvious.
Also I'm not a fan of them copying story elements from the first installment the fact that Sarah is in a secret relationship like Deena just felt lazy to me it worked for the movie just felt a little lazy.
I also felt like the acting was a little off mainly in the past part it just felt a little wooden and you could tell they were doing accents.
However this was a great horror movie and satisfying ending to this Fear Street trilogy and I enjoyed this one just as much as Part 2.
Verdict 8.5/10 a great movie and a solid conclusion to this trilogy.
An interesting origin for Sarah Fier with a great twist in my opinion.
Some predictable moments and wooden acting but nothing that ruins the movie just as good as Part 2 in my opinion.
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
Fear Street 1978 review
Fear Street 1978. Another solid installment of the Slasher/Horror Trilogy based on the Novels by RL Stine and a Fantastic sequel with a great mix of genres like Slasher and Supernatural Horror just like the first installment.
This movie continues brilliantly on from the first installment and tells the backstory of C Burman the survivor of Camp Nightwing which we met at the end of 1994.
The movie also gives us more insight and backstory on Sarah Fier and the curse and what they add to the story is brilliant.
The characters again for the most part are great especially Ziggy and Cindy Burman who are the main characters of this story and there Sister relationship is handled really well.
Its also great seeing younger versions of characters we met in the first film like Nick Goode who was the Cop in 1994.
The Kills are great but the ones In 1994 were more creative in my opinion.
However i like how this movie has more of a Friday 13th style to it which is awesome and adds to the films nostalgic feel.
I also like the interesting new elements that they add to the story like the Witches Mark also being a Map to get out of the Cave that Cindy and Alice are trapped in.
We also see Ruby Lanes Mother who is the Nurse at Camp Nightwing and is investigating Sarah Fier and the Curse that turned her Daughter evil which was a great element to add to the story.
My only issues with the movie is like the first film the humour doesn't work especially with Alice and Tommy who spent most of the movie getting high.
Also like the first film some of the characters outside of the main ones are generic and again they do nothing new with them for this type of movie.
Another issue with this installment is there is a pacing issue and the movie slows down alot especially in the first 20 minutes it doesn't ruin the movie as the story is still interesting but the pacing does get a little much.
Verdict 8.5/10 a great sequel and another solid installment for Fear Street some great new elements to the story and a good twist on C Burmans backstory.
The humour doesn't work and there is a pacing issue and some generic characters but it's a solid sequel.
However I enjoyed 1994 a little more.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Fear Street 1994 review..
Fear Street 1994. A brilliant horror Slasher loosely based on the book series by RL Stine which is the surprise of the Summer and a Fantastic horror that pays homage to 90s Slashers like Scream.
The characters where great especially Deena and Sam the two main characters that are in a relationship which serves the story well and they both have some great moments in the film and the performances are great.
The story in this is really well handled and tells the story of a town called Shadyside that is cursed by a Witch called Sarah Fier and now a circle of teenage friends accidentally encounter the ancient evil responsible for a series of brutal murders that have plagued their town for over 300 years.
The movie has a good mix of Slasher movies and a Supernatural twist that gave the movie its interesting concept.
The Kills are awesome especially in the third act of the movie which has a highlight kill with a Bread Slicer which is bloody awesome.
The killers are awesome and like how each one is different through the years like the Axe Killer who was in Camp Nightwing in 1978.
Also each killer has there own unique style which I like.
My favourite killer is Ruby Lane she has an interesting Gimmick of singing when she is going to kill someone which adds to the creep factor.
The Cliffhanger ending is also great and really leaves you wanting more and I really need to see the next one.
Only issues with the movie is most of the humour doesn't work and could of been done better.
I also feel like the characters although I liked them are charactures like you have the nerd, the funny one and the tough girl and they don't do anything new with these type of characters and you've seen these types of characters in most Slashers.
Verdict 9/10 a surprise of the Summer and a great Slasher movie that is a love letter to 90s slashers like Scream.
The humour doesn't work for me and the characters are nothing new but the Kills and story are awesome and I really enjoyed this first installment of Fear Street.
Escape Room (2019)
I really enjoyed it
Escape Room. A great film with an interesting premise and some great twists and suspenseful moments along the way this is a blast to watch from start to finish and I had alot of fun with this movie.
The concept of the movie is really well handled and tells the story of Six strangers who find themselves in a maze of deadly mystery rooms and must use their wits to survive.
The characters for the most part are great and I like the dynamic with them all and how they learn to work as a team to survive the rooms its an interesting dynamic and plays out really well for the story and adds to the suspence of the Escape Rooms.
The rooms are great and each one is different which always keeps the movie interesting and feeling new with each scene and it really keeps your attention throughout. We also have the interesting mystery throughout the movie of who is behind the deadly maze rooms and why have these people been chosen.
The twists are great in the movie and keep the story interesting once again.
I especially like the reason as to why they have been chosen for the rooms it's because they are sole survivors of disasters in there lifes and that is the theme the company was going with for these Rooms. It was a great twist that added alot to the characters.
My only issues are there are some unbelievable moments and the way they escape the rooms can sometimes be over the top you really need to expand your disbelief and that brings the rating of the film down for me I thing it could of benefitted a little from being more grounded.
Also the Jason character was really annoying at times and it took me out of the movie.
Verdict 8.5/ 10 a great movie that I really enjoyed alot.
Had an interesting premise and for the most part was handled well with great suspenseful moments.
Could of benefitted from being more grounded and you need to expand your disbelief sometimes but this a great film that keeps you interested all the way through.
The Meg (2018)
A fun Popcorn Flick but nothing special
The Meg. A fun turn your brain of kind of movie a Pure Popcorn flick that is alot of fun to watch.
A predictable story and generic characters that are serviceable make this a fun movie but nothing that special in my opinion.
The effects are awesome and the design of The Meg is really well done in my opinion and the action is solid and serviceable for the story but can be a little over the top sometimes especially the fight scene with The Meg at the end.
The story is OK but nothing special like i said its just a Popcorn flick and the story is really predictable and there are some predictable twists like there being a second Shark halfway through.
There is some really nice shots in the movie with the Shark which keeps the movie fun to watch.
Jason Statham is good in the movie like he is in most action movies but he has some over the top moments but he does well in this film.
However I have seen him in better movies in my opinion.
Now there are some main issues that i have like some characters are a little over the top especially the Businessman and there is a love story between the two main characters that in my opinion kinda comes out of nowhere and doesn't add anything to the story for me.
But besides the predictable story and the over top characters this is a fun movie and a blast to watch.
This movie is literally the definition of a Popcorn Flick.
Just turn your brain of and have fun with the movie.
Verdict 7/10 a fun movie but has a predictable story and over the top moments.
But the CGI is good and the movie is alot of fun it's a great Popcorn Flick and a turn your brain of kind of movie in my opinion nothing special but alot of fun to watch.
The Final Girls (2015)
A fun Slasher movie
The Final Girls. A great Horror Slasher movie that serves as a love letter to old school Slasher movies like Friday 13th. With an interesting premise, Unique concept for a Slasher and fun characters that make this a fun movie from start to finish.
The story in this one is really interesting and is a pretty unique premise for a Slasher movie with Max being trapped in her deceased mother's cult classic Slasher in which she starred Camp Bloodbath. It's an interesting concept that worked really well in this movie.
The characters are great especially the main character Max who is a great Final Girl in this movie and Duncan who is the Randy character of the movie and knows all about Slashers and how to survive he is a fun character aswell.
The dynamic with the characters is well handled and I really like how the relationship is handled between Max and her Mother Amanda and how it plays out when Max is stuck in her movie with Max getting close to her character and wanting to safe her but can't because her character is supposed to die in the movie which leads to some really well handled emotional moments.
There is some amazing moments and brilliant shots the ones that stand out are when they are setting the trap to stop the killer and them going back in time seeing the origin of the killer.
They are brilliantly shot moments and use interesting film techniques that make them a blast to watch.
The only issues with the movie is there are some annoying characters like Tina who plays the typical dumb girl in a Slasher movie and she gets really annoying sometimes in my opinion and the Comedy element around this character just doesn't work for me.
I also wish this movie wasn't rated PG13 this movie could've been a little better if the Kills had more Gore to them it would of made for better Slasher movie in my opinion.
Verdict 8.5/10 a fun Slasher movie that as an interesting premise and fun characters with some amazing emotional moments that work for a horror movie. Would've been better if the Kills had more Gore.
Also some comedy elements don't work especially with the Tina character. But this is a fun Slasher movie that i would recommend if you like the genre.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
A decent Marvel Show....
Falcon and The Winter Solider. A decent Marvel TV show that for me serves has a decent follow on to Winter Solider and the Captain America movies as a whole. With great characters, decent action and Sam Wilson being a decent replacement for Steve Rogers.
The action was great in this series and felt like a Marvel movie with its style and use of practical effects and CGI some highlights in the action was the Opening with Sam on a mission and one awesome action scene with Sam and Bucky fighting John Walker.
The characters are well handled in my opinion I especially like what they did with Bucky and him dealing with his past and what he did they really showed how much is character has grown over the MCU and it's great to see.
I also really John Walker aka US Agent he definitely was the best character in the show and his story was really well adapted from the comics in my opinion.
The main villains the flag smashers were a bit generic but were serviceable for the story.
Seeing some old villains from the MCU was great like Baron Zemo and Batroc the Leaper.
And there's also a decent twist with Sharon Carter being the Power Broker.
My issues with the show and the reason I think this show isn't as enjoyable for me as WandaVision and Loki is sometimes the show slows down alot and gets boring now i enjoy seeing Sam's real life and his family but they are not well paced in my opinion and slow the show way down.
I also feel like the show is a little heavy handed with its political message on race and it sometimes feels forced and takes me out of the story.
I'm all for doing this message in media but I feel there's ways of doing and handling it better than this show.
Apart from those issues it's a solid show with some good action and Sam is a good replacement for Steve Rogers and I had fun with the action and the story kept me interested throughout and has a Marvel fan I'm interested in seeing more.
Verdict 8/10 a solid show for Marvel with decent action and an interesting story with some great development for Bucky and John Walkwr is a new highlight for the MCU.
But It can get a little heavy handed with its political message on race and sometimes feel forced.
