Although this game was released in 1999, this game has the right kind of back story and well-developed plot, with just the right game play, I'd have to say no wonder they had to put it on Game Cube. The graphics are a little bit off, but you gotta keep the release date in mind. As I've said, it's a PS One Classic.
This Resident Evil has gotten much better since the first one. The first one was horrible on graphics, so bad that I'd say you'd be better off playing the Game Cube version. And it had an obvious plot right next to the fact that you end up running out of shells and reloading equipment on the first RE. And despite the lack of ammunition, the enemies can withstand a lot of bullets. Not fair in the least.
The Second RE was suppose to be happening once Jill gets reaches the Clock Tower. That's why you'll notice the police barricades have been taken down by the time Leon and Claire get to the police station. The only thing that I liked more about RE: 2 that differs in comparison to this edition of the series was the fact that Claire, Leon, and Sherry get to explore the boarded-up places in the place. That should have been part of Jill's adventure in the station. And I also didn't like how in RE: 2, you can play as Leon and Claire. Jill should have had a better side character than Carlos. He's not a bad character, but Jill deserves better. And you know it. Brad, as wimpy as he is, would have been a better character than Carlos.
