Generator Rex (2010–2013)
8/10
the most underrated action cartoon of all time
5 July 2017
Generator Rex, created by man of action, the same people who brought you Ben 10 and Big Hero 6 is probably their best work since the original Ben 10 series. the series feels original and for the most part is done quite well. lets start with the animation: it is spectacular. the orange pallets really gives the show the steam punk feel it needs and it works, the background design won an Emmy award and it really deserves it. the action scenes are breath taking and this show boosts the best animation quality i have ever scene on a cartoon, besides Avatar the last air bender, Young justice and the newest Voltron legendary defender. the soundtrack is also exciting and it truly suits the overall feel of the show. the plot is well rounded and the characters are interesting. Rex is also such a likable character and is not your clichéd annoying action protagonist. he has some great character development accompanied by white knight. agent six is probably the coolest side character we have ever gotten on an action series and he definitely shines during the action sequences as he takes them to a whole new level. the series might feel a little stale towards the middle, but i continued to find the show fun during the filler episodes. if you find the recent animation slot boring, vapid, cheap, and unfunny (despite the foolish attempts), then I highly recommend you revisit Generator Rex. You will not be disappointed.

The Transformers (1984–1987)
3/10
Many are blinded by the nostalgia goggles, as a new comer to this series, this is awful!!
13 January 2017
Transformers generation 1 is regarded as the best transformers series by fans, it is the one that started it all, but does it really hold up to today's standards? Here is a review of huge transformers fan who grew up with transformers animated, prime and beast wars, what I regard as the best 3 transformers cartoons. Transformers generation 1 was a 20-minute toy commercial, designed solely to sell toys. Granted every transformers series is designed to sell action figures, but the way they handled g1 is absolutely disgusting. Right from the very first episode you are introduced to about 20 autobots and 20 decepticons. All you know is that they crashed on earth to continue their long, long battle. There is barely any character development ( at least according to the first 30 episodes that I watched, and god I had an awful and painfully long time). The dialogue is absolutely ridiculous, and nothing really happens, the deceptions find a source of Energon on earth, they attack, the autobots defend, and so on and so forth. The plots make no sense and some of the characters decisions make absolutely NO SENSE!!. While I love the generation 1 designs, at least the posters and the fantastic master piece figures, the animation is horrible and rushed, that's because they wanted to air as many episodes as possible to sell as many toys as they can. I swear to god, and believe me, every time I woke up at night and I could not go back to sleep, I would watch a g1 episode, and I swear to god, it WORKS, I would sleep half way through. I highly recommend it to any one NOT BORN WITH THIS CARTOON as an alternative to sleeping pills. I was very excited to see what the fuss is all about, but even my little brother absolutely despises this garbage. Watch transformers prime, beast wars, or animated. Read the IDW comics, but for any new comer, stay away from this. I know that many will dislike this review, solely because I disagree with their opinion that is blinded but nostalgia goggles, but this is awful, one of the worst transformers incarnations that are over-hyped for no objective reason.

Collider TV Talk: Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 1 Review (2016)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown

A breath of fresh air in a room filed with nuclear farts
8 January 2017
I switched to anime lately as the latest era of western animation has been filled with short comedies that are not even funny with very cheap art styles, but this, oh my how happy I am. From the creators of avatar the last air bender and the legend of korra, I can stop the review here because you KNOW it's gonna be good, comes this reboot of a 90s action cartoon that doesn't live up to today's standards. Don't forget that I know nothing about voltron nor its mythology but now I do, yes, I care, voltron is now one of my favourite franchises. This is what a reboot should do, reintroduce a property with a fresh story telling to a new audience and I'm now into this, like many Ming others. The art is beautiful and gorgeous, combining 2d animation with great CGI sequences for voltron and the empires ships, the action sequences are breath taking mad and of high quality. The story does start slow but quickly escalates into a great climax and a cliff hanger, quite similar to avatar interns of setting structure, in which there is a mythology, planets, aliens and all sorts of fun. Don't miss on this, highly recommended.

Justice League Action (2016–2018)
8/10
Surprisingly fun and very similar to batman the brave and the bold
8 January 2017
Let's get this clear, this is not young justice or voltron legendary defender, this is just a 10- minute episode cartoon that has no character development or story, but has a striking balance of humour and action. I hope the episodes get a little longer, because what I'm seeing is an instant gratification of a lot of good action and exposition. While I disliked the animation at first I can safely say now that it works quite well for the story and has some nostalgia of Bruce timms art style, and indeed, the art director did work for Bruce Timm. The cartoon mainly consists of shorts that revolve around the insanely big DC gallery of heroes and villains, were it quickly starts with an action scene, and ends with a punchline, but that doesn't mean it's not fun, I'm actually surprised at the balance they managed to reach. You don't get bored, and these 10 minutes end up being one of the finer times you spent in your day. All in all batman the brave and the bold ( the closes series to this, if not its original inspiration) has a finer art style and a longer more consistent plot, the only nitpick I have with this is like I said, too short. But for now, in this lackluster era of animation, I'm only enjoying Tmnt and voltron, and this is a fine addition to watch, surprisingly recommended.

Voltron legendary defender is the show we need and deserve
24 June 2016
im a new comer to the voltron franchise, i have not watched any iteration of the series, so here is a review from fresh guy who knows nothing about Voltron: After all the terrible cartoons that we have been getting recently, under the category of cheap animation, forgettable story lines and unimaginative unfunny comedy, Voltron finally came in and saved our universe. the animation is stunning, beautiful, and filled with detail, something to expect from the folks who did both avatar the last airbender and the legend of Korra, we have not seen anything like this since the death of the legend of korra, young justice and generator rex, the battle sequences are phenomenal, and the 3d rendered in 2d Voltron and the giant baddies (who i thought would be the bad part about the animation) turned out perfect, in fact Voltron in this series is one of the best looking robots i have seen in my life, even the transformation sequence is great. the writing is also really good, and the characters are quit distinct with real motive, they have a history that is yet to be explored ( i have only watched the first 5 episodes so far) . the comedy is funny occasionally and the show is generally a lot of fun. Voltron legendary defender is the savior of western television, im tired of all the cheap bad comedies that we have been getting recently, the action cartoons are dying but man Voltron saved my day, i hope it is successful and i really want to see more of this.

tmnt out of the shadows: better than the first one in every way possible
3 June 2016
when a new tmnt TV series comes out, some get excited, some don't because they think their childhood is ruined, it has always been like that, throughout every single iteration, every single cartoon and of course, the movies. when the tmnt reboot hit theaters 2 years ago, a lot of the people didn't like it, whether it was the direction, the cgi turtles, the plot lines etc, but of course kids loved it, it was a box office success and here we are, in a sequel, and man i am happy that the first was a success. tmnt out of the shadows is many steps towards the right direction, it is GI Joe retaliation compared to rise of cobra, the empire strikes back of the turtles, the dark knight of the franchise and the winter soldier to the first captain America movie, it is one of these movies that are so much better then the original, not that the original was great to begin with. the tmnt lore has so many stories, so many goofy over the top characters, combine with it heart and brotherhood relation and you got a timeless franchise that will always work. this movie unlike its predecessor which was afraid on going full ninja turtles, actually does, it goes to the extreme actually, it is not afraid of showing a giant rhino and a giant warthog, it is not afraid of showing an over the top mad scientist, an alien talking brain or evil actual ninjas kicking the hell out of people, in fact it celebrates it which means if you grew up in the 80s and you are a fan of either the 80s show or the new nickelodeon one, you are going to absolutely love this, if not then go f@#k yourself, it is a love letter from the creators, or maybe it is a scheme to play with our nostalgia, but who cares? the first movie was more like Megan fox and the turtles, this one starts with the turtles, and ends with the turtles, they are the heart and soul of the movie, (april O'Neil, Vern, Casey Jones and all other humans are side characters) these turtles are THE best turtle incarnations ever on the big screen, even beating the 1990 movie, the turtles are spot on, they look real, they have a soul, they are bad ass, the characters are spot on and every thing about them is just perfect, they face struggles and it is actually believable in this one unlike the first, the new bebop and rocksteady are also spot on, their bro-manse relation ship is absolutely fun to watch, they are there to have fun and they feel like they jumped from the old cartoon, their cgi is also well done and again, they just feel perfect, I'm not talking about the other last act of the movie character because it might be a spoiler, but i liked him and even if the final act seems like its done so many times before, it is still fun because you got the turtles. shredder is there but this is not his movie at all and he is more like a secondary character. and now for the bad: if you are not a fan of the turtles, or you are more like the dark, edgy turtles fan then this is not for you, this is a silly, over the top movie that feels more like Saturday morning show on the big screen, kids will love it and their nostalgic parents will love it as well, it requires for you to know and recognize these characters because other wise you will repeat this sentence with yourself throughout the entire movie: what the actual f*@k is going on? this time this movie chose a side, they chose their audience, you know what you are getting from now on and I'm happy about that. and i must say that i definitely look forward to watching more sequels and i hope that this is a hit. this movie is impossible to rate, because if you are a fan then this is planetary alignment for you, if not then stay away, i gave this a seven because i know that is not for everybody, and i can only say that i liked the movie a lot..... cawabonga.
