13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016)
You don't want to miss this!!
It's 2023 and I had this movie saved in my Watchlist and I am so glad I did! It is a lazy Sunday and I turned it on just to have background noise but was drawn in within a few minutes. If you are pro American and like watching true life heroes in action then this is your jam. This is, hands down, one of the best war movies I have seen. It's one of those movies that makes you feel every emotion known to man, but in a good way. It also makes you proud to be an American and makes you appreciate our service men and women and all that they sacrifice....if you don't feel that way after watching it then there is no hope for you. And the cast, Lord have Mercy, it's like they were hand picked from God. Every actor in this movie was exceptional and played their part to the limit. I have always loved Jon Krasinski from his role in The Office to Jack Ryan. However, Pablo Schreiber and David Giuntoli were on another level in this movie compared to what I have seen them in before. If you're on the fence, don't be!
For Life (2020)
Hard watch but so worth the payoff
This man was treated so unfairly that I literally wanted to jump through the tv and take someone out in every episode. And it wasn't just the system, it was his wife, his best friend, his own Mother....the list went on and on. Oh yeah and I love 50 cent but not in this show, I wanted him gone. However, the acting, writing and actors themselves made you hang in there. This show is definitely an eye opener and deserved way more episodes than it was allowed. It is a must watch for sure. I have since tried to find everything Nicholas Pinnock is in....his acting is brilliant, plus he is easy on the eyes.
Bodyguard (2018)
This was cancelled? WHAT???
This show was easily one of the best I've seen and to find out it was cancelled after only one season....well, it's criminal. The onslaught of shows that have no storyline and pathetic actors but somehow get renewed year after year is crazy. If you are on the fence about this show, don't be, because although there is just one season, it is so worth the watch right through to the last episode that had me on the edge of my seat. This is the first time I have watched a show that Richard Madden starred in and he was simply brilliant. All of the acting was spot on but Richard was definitely the OG of this show. Watch it....you won't be sorry.
Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022)
Wow, wow, wow!! 10/10
This was simply put......AMAZING!! I was blown away that the main character wrote, directed and starred in this movie. He is an absolute genius! There cannot be bad reviews for this movie unless you are a total idiot. Yes, I would have preferred a different ending but that is human feelings coming into play. When it's over you realize that was the best ending the movie could and should have. Love, love, loved everything about it!! And Dakota Johnson is a complete master at her craft, she shines in every movie she is in! Actually, all the actors were perfect for this movie! Best movie I've seen in years!
As We See It (2022)
Not one bad episode
I wasn't really expecting much but boy was I wrong. The cast and writing could not be better. I found myself laughing so much in every episode. Were there a few unnecessary vulgar scenes? I thought so but I'm a grown adult and can overlook it and the show is so good, you simply don't care. I binged all 8 episodes in one night because I couldn't stop watching. If you don't like this show there is something wrong with you. The real life rawness they showed of autism and just real life drama in general was so good and should bring awareness to everyone that watches. It might even smack some people in the face as it should because autism is so misunderstood. I love this show and so hope there will be a Season 2.
Love Me (2021)
1st Aussie show I've watched
I'm so glad I decided to watch this. I cannot believe there are other reviews annihilating Bob Morley. I think every actor in this series was perfect and their acting was on point. The feelings and emotions shown of regret, anger, sadness, and love was so real and heartfelt, not some made for tv bologna. If you don't like this show there is something wrong. Give it a chance if this is a genre you are into which is a family going through real life struggles of love, life and work.
Time Is Up (2021)
Painful but I'm a sucker for romance
It's like watching Bob Ross paint his "happy little trees", you pick up the remote, point it at the tv and want to change the channel, but can't. I am a woman so I can suffer through the bad acting for the romance part but boy was it tough. If Bella and her fiancé weren't so good looking I would never have finished this movie.
Yellowjackets (2021)
Good show
The show is good and keeps you intrigued, however, it's flawed as the writers expect you to believe that the 2 most attractive guys fall for the 2 most unattractive women in the show. I love Juliette Lewis who plays Natalie however they make her look like a drag queen and expect us to believe that Alex Wyndham who plays Kevyn falls for her although she is uninterested. Then there is Melanie Lynskey who plays Shauna and has the gorgeous Peter Gadiot who plays Adam fall for her when he is exceptionally younger and she is a frumpy housewife. I get it that looks aren't everything but come on! I chose to ignore that because I'm only on the fifth episode and it is a great watch. Also, in this episode the frumpy housewife and the hot guy went to a bar and they still didn't try to fix her up to where it might be believable. 🙄
The Now (2021)
Not what I expected!
Wow, wow, freaking wow! This is what great acting creates.....a comedy with a spectacular message. There were a few vulgar parts that didn't need to be in it but you really don't notice when it just works. Dave Franco.....unbelievable, O'Shea Jackson, Jr.......so talented (why in the hell don't I see him more?) and the rest of the cast were phenomenal as well. Corny in some parts, ridiculous in some parts but you really don't care. It was extra special to me because I have 2 sons, although my 25 yr old died in January of this year, so the message was humbling and raw and beautiful at the same time. The last episode had me bawling like a baby but it was a good cry. Thank you.
Only You (2018)
Simply beautiful
Relationships are hard work, finding a perfect person isn't possible, real life is miserable most of the time, but loving each other is easy.
