Accused: Scott's Story (2023)
I'm committed
Well thought out dramatization of the dilemma parents face when their children don't fit the bill.
Mom was heavy in denial. Unfortunately dad not so much. Well thought out series that doesn't insult one's intelligence.it displays parents real hard emotions when it comes to their children's behaviour and how difficult reality is when it comes to a crossroads.
These parents were clearly desperate & willing to do all necessary to help their child.
It's still heart wrenching as there are many folks out there that clearly see the writing on the wall when it comes to their disturbed, troubled kids.
If you seek a happy ending, this is not the place to find it. But it's grounded in hope.
Unfortunately not enough.
So far I'm committed to the concept.
Compliance (2012)
Highlights the horrors " the power of suggestion"
So difficult to watch.
Worse when understanding that this actually occurred more than once.
Over 70 instances in several states..
Whilst it's easy to vilify those involved.
It really explores how one can get caught up in the mundane.& if we believe via the power of suggestion whether through fear or authority.
We are eager to ignore our gut. & be led believing we are " doing the right thing".
Such a sad case study into the fragility of the human psyche.
Ann Dowd Was a great choice, she's a great actor with plenty of depth.
Indistinguishable from Magic (2019)
A little long and drawn out
Interesting conspiracy theory
Seems to be produced in layman's terms
Felt like a high school " required watch "
Film.
Messiah (2020)
Couldn't wait for this to drop
So far it hasn't disappointed.
For those that get their knickers in a twist, over politics, religion, and the like.
Switch it off and go back under your bubble wrap.
Controversy is not bad, nor is free speech last time I checked...
And finally and foremost..
ITS A FICTIONAL SHOW!!!!
Get a grip we all grown here.
I've seen much worse in tv..🙏🏽
Work in Progress (2019)
Amazing
Humorous , solid acting, great script, writing.
Very realistic down to earth.
Displays the queer community for what it is, real multi dimensional people with complexity's hang ups insecurities . And they come in all shapes and sizes..
Brilliant.
I look forward to it every Sunday..
See (2019)
Momoa fan all the way
Straight up
Just watching to see how many times
(to my delight) Momoa takes off his shirt. to my disappointment It only happened twice that I recall.
He delivers though as always..
Couldn't tell what what the series was about
I was all about the eye candy.
For All Mankind: Red Moon (2019)
Amazing so far..
I love me anything related to the space race, so far, decent cast, decent writing..
Bravo Apple TV.
You just might get my subscription..
Godfather of Harlem (2019)
What more can you say Forest Whitiker
Does a great job portraying
Family man/ villian.
He still resembles characters that we've grown to know and love, but perhaps it's his subtleties and what he doesn't say that helps sell the protagonist .
So far so good. Kept me hooked.
Looking forward to future episodes.
Marianne (2019)
Stick with it.
The first 2 episodes killed me.. like pulling teeth. But you need the background in order to piece it together. Gets better I promise.
Love love the spec effects, not overdone by any means.. great genuine scares when you least expect it..
It doesn't disappoint..
Evil (2019)
Early days.
So far I'm digging it, pretty terrifying not gonna lie.
Boosted by some very manly eye candy.
Let's wait to see what future episodes have in store..
Til Death Do Us Part (2019)
Asian " Black mirror" only better.
Loved it, a Sci fi anthology
Where each episode stands alone.
In the Netflix explanation it says
" watch in any order" thanks for the permission, that's what sold me...
Enjoy the ride.
I'm hoping for another season.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more if this directors works.
Diablero (2018)
Solid series
Really enjoyed the solid acting and the premise.
Has a bit of everything, horror, comedy,
Action, music.
My only complaint was the voiceovers,
I can't understand why, after other Netflix shows like Narcos,2% and plenty of other popular subtitled shows, why would they go in the direction of voiceovers,
It made some of the dialogue sound
Cheap, it felt a bit cheesy at times, as the voiceovers were not very accurate and many typical Mexican slangs were totally lost in translation.
It would have been much more authentic
Had it been left alone.i do hope to see a second season.
But please
keep it real.
One Strange Rock: Gasp (2018)
A first and undoubtedly the last, enjoy the ride.
I always read comments before I decide, but this was the first time I felt
COMPELLED to speak out, just for imagery alone, it's well worth the ride.
And Will smith? Who knew!
As if that's not good enough, you can watch it with your kids, your grannie, your dog.
when was the last time you could say that about any cable show?
It's relatable to all, while satisfying those with the " inner nerd"
Without stating the obvious, finally a talk drink of intelligence, emerging from the soul killing desert we've been Subsisting in over the last several years...
