Bones and All (2022)
Trying to be unconventional for the sake of it
The cinematography is ofcourse nice, and the music is really good as well; they want to have an artsy & A27 kind off vibe.
The plot however..? I don't see a point. This just seems like making an unconventional movie purely for the 'shock value' and not with a hidden meaning, purpose or message. Was I supposed to sympathize with the cannibals? Like what was the purpose 😀
I can live with the open ended questions or reasons; like why they can't refrain from their actions, where it comes from etc. But I feel this is lacking a fundamental point somewhere in the story
Also it's romanticizing cannibalism to me, you don't want to out ideas in people's head.. tf?
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023)
Not a 7,2
I have seen Bridgerton, and I can remember it was enjoyable. This however, is not worth the hybe. The visuals, shots, locations and outfits are amazing. Bridgerton franchise has an amazing world building!
But the dialogue was horrible and shallow, the acting wasn't great. And it all didn't really make sense to me?
Is this truly what we've become ? They try to throw in shock value like sex scenes with an older man, public sex, a lot of sex in general, if you're someone who enjoys the pocket romance from the corner store, then this is for you, but if you want to watch a good series that doesn't make you cringe (not in the good way) every now and then, then i'd suggest something else.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
Best series to date
Amazing mix of good refreshing humor, with an intriguing world-build, beautiful fight scenes, adorned with superb characters (& character growth) and a wonderful full-filling, realistic plot.
I don't like to oversell, because in my experience that will often lead to disappointment- but I can say Avatar The Last Airbender has it all. I've watched a lot of movies, series, docus, anime etc. But this one is always mentioned when asking my favorite.
I'd recommend everyone to watch it, no matter the age or background !
There is so much to say about it, because it has a special place in heart- I just want to say for the older folks, don't be turned off because it's animated or was a nickelodeon series
Truly a masterpiece :)
ps. I want to add, if you've watched Avatar TLAB and aren't sure about Korra (like I was for years), give that one a shot too, because especially season 3 & 4 were really good, and in a totally different way which was interesting.
