First Light (2018)
Don't expect a story to be told
I gave this movie a shot, and now I don't know why. There is no story to it - just...well, I can't even put into words what happens. A girl gets some weird powers after almost drowning, and some lights come and take her away. Wrap that around a short movie and you get this one. No explanation about what is happening, why, any meaning to it, nothing.
The Philadelphia Experiment (1984)
It doesn't get much worse
I have to laugh at the reviews that try so hard to make this movie sound watchable. There are no positives here - the acting is amateur, the effects are amateur, the whole thing just comes off as extremely amateur.
One big thing I hate is a movie involving military that puts absolutely no effort into making the military look authentic, especially period authentic. Just for starters, the beginning of the movie is supposed to be in 1943, but all the military men have haircuts from today, and not a single one is close to even today's military standards, much less 1943. It ruins the idea, because they look like modern actors playing 1943 dress up with no more effort than trying on some military clothes. Even the modern military men in the movie don't look close to authentic.
The acting? Unbelievably cheesy. It honestly looks like this was everybody's very first movie after taking a semester of high school drama class. It really is that bad.
The basic story itself could probably be a good one, if it was rewritten - this one is a poor effort all around. Easily one of the worst made and worst acted movies I've ever seen.
Nightworld (2017)
A complete waste of time - really, really bad movie
I'm not going to waste a lot of time on this garbage movie. The acting was horrible (even from Robert Englund), the plot was ridiculous, the sets were crap...everything about this movie stunk. In fact, I chuckled more than I jumped because it was so cheesy, predictable, and badly acted. There wasn't a single scary scene in the entire movie.
If I walked into a place and this guy was the "security guard", I'd laugh and go right on my way taking whatever I wanted to take, knowing it would probably require little more than a mean look and a snarl to stop him in his tracks. I've never seen an actor spend an entire movie looking and acting confused and just plain dumb.
The Wicker Man (2006)
Absolutely terrible movie
Ellen Burstyn and Nicolas Cage must have really needed a payday. This is, by far, one of the worst movies I've seen in a very long time. Cage came closest to "acting", despite being given nothing to work with, but he looked like he was begging for help through the whole thing, wanting someone, anyone, to please start acting along with him. Burstyn should just be embarrassed.
There are no redeeming qualities to this movie - none. The story is hokey, at best. The acting is pathetic. This doesn't even look like a decent independent movie. The music score was horrible and didn't come close to fitting the movie, ever.
Ugh - shame on you, Nicolas Cage. I usually like your work, but this was garbage.
