total ripoff
3 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Its like they took all the materials from Independence day, godzila ,kingkong and similar without any sense of originality, a complete and total copy paste.

The cast and actors aren't bad, its just again everything is copy paste from other movies ,you have the lead which plays the unaccepted hero as so many films did before, you have the comedian relief, as the prime minister aid, the solider boy angle, the cliffhanger which isn't a cliff hanger with using a nuke which again was used in so many films before, the cgi is ok but again been done already and much better in previous films ,there's no surprises no ingenuity its all been done before.

Hes Back!!!
19 June 2022
God I missed Liam Nieeson.

He's one of my favorite actors but last few films he did were horrible.. Where he portrayed this weak feeble man... Nothing like he was in his prime.

This film brings him back with a vengeance... He's the Hardass I grew to love. And he does it while been old and sick. But proper.

It sucks But its good
27 February 2022
Horror, and fantasy etc. Rely on effects.

Problem is the new cinema stopped using real puppets and makeup and costumes.

Today it's all CGI, and all of that CGI is just plain awful!

It clearly shows what's false, and you see and know all CGI are fake... Unlike older effects where it might have looked worst, but it "Felt" real cause it was real and it didn't take out the immersion, There have been rare occasions where CGI wasn't a disaster (examples are like in AVATAR OR Alita: Battle Angel.) Unfortunately in this show the CGI is awful as usual.

The bright side is all the other stuff.

Directing, and all around that, music etc., the actors are excellent and do great job to keep immersion thou CGI contrast and destroys it just as equally.

So I'm watching this with mixed feelings.

What a wonderfull series
3 August 2019
This series is full of surprises!! What you are led to believe is changed constantly, the plot goes from drama,to horror to fantasy to thriller to drama, its dynamic and ever flowing..

On top of that top notch acting, director and everything is just wrapped with beautiful photography.

Highly recommended this gem of a series.

ok series nothing special to see here
3 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There's some characters spoilers, I had to make,in order to explain ,various problems I had with this series.

So I was amazed by the grade this series got..a 9? really? Last time I gave such high score for a series was Chernobyl, and this comes nothing close to that.. but to each their own.

The main villain is portrayed by Antony Starr, which for me was a total letdown from his last roll I saw him as the amazing lead in the series Banshee(which deserves a 9 btw and only got 8.3,also amazing as its a much better show ,again then this was)

Having Antony bleach his hair(took me time to recognize him) portray a psychopath superhero, was a shocker. His an amazing actor so he did it perfectly,on the other side it was like someone took a dump over his last role which was epic..

There isn't really a leading role here, the good guys are a group ,which I didn't relate to,which is one of the downfalls of this series, except for Karl Urban, which is a great actor, and even he was casted with far more sadistic and rouge traits(again they turned the dial on this one way up in the wrong direction,he never played such a dark and sadistic role before)Like with Antony it was hard to see him put in such a place(one example he uses a baby as a weapon, holding it by the neck was cringe to watch, during their infiltration to the enemy's labs)

The series itself is ok. The acting and directing is on par all solid. Also sound track is fun and goes well with plot changes.

The problem is except for the novel idea of superheroes with vices, there's nothing here, and unfortunately this wasn't enough to hold my interest.

Final Vedict:

Good show to watch, when you got nothing else to do.

Solid Netflix flick
31 July 2019
Almost missed on this film, because some people reviewed it as political propaganda instead of really reviewing the film itself.. Haters got to hate..

The real review is this film is solid(acting, directed etc),enjoyable watching, and recaptures some important history.

The problem with this film I felt most of the plot was repeated in other films which kept it from been really great hence gave it only a 7. Nothing original here, except the true story behind the movie that inspired its creation.

Bad Ending
30 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why but Netflix have great releases on the whole.

This film was great up till the last part which made me cringe to watch,it really sucked.

All the direction, actors, effects, camera, etc everything was well done, the way i'm usually receiving it from Netflix releases.

But then toward the ending, things started going sideways...

The hero is this omnipotent being, but then his suddenly not? There's no valid reason for it as well. Like give some justification for this, would still have sucked ,but at least, would take the film ,a bit further till the end. Instead the director created a series of unconvincing faults, which led to the even up, between the "forces" of good via evil.. which made absolutely no sense. That pretty much destroyed the enjoyment I had, up till that point.. Except of that ,it was really agonizing to see, Princess Arya Stark(Maisie Williams),play this dysfunctional girl, she was soo incompetent toward the ending, making stupid mistakes one after the other, which went well with the whole making no sense thing.

I would have given this film an 8,but because of the extremely poor ending, i lowered it to 5.

Wonderful Film
17 January 2017
I really didn't expect much out of this film, but decided ill check it out.

This is a well directed, well acted film. It left me touched, and appreciative of the experience. So many raw emotions.

The story was evolving and engrossing, the characters, portrayed wonderfully with all their vulnerabilities and inner strength.

The film showed characters, wounded from past experiences, rediscover hope in mutual past hurt and brutal experiences, build through it ,and evolve to have future and hope.

Most of the film is a drama, but toward the end it speeds up to a thriller and even some action.

Everything was conceived ,in my eyes ,to create this immaculate experience.

Not worth your time
13 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I tried to see this film because of the idea of a post apocalyptic surrounding and Jacob Lofland, whom I saw in a few decent films before.

He didn't let down, thou that didn't help the film.

This felt like a high school production. Very amateur directing, like you see ,there's a struggle to create atmosphere with a few props and shots of abandonment buildings'splatters of blood etc..

Its like a part zombie film, but without the zombies, part psychological social thriller, failing to actual convey some message or thrill.

The acting was OK i guess, but was leading to nowhere, with some good acting leading me to watch further on,only to be letdown constantly by the bad directing and story line.

There's one part where the lead actor, is been pursued by a gang,he hides in a Library, and out of all the buildings in the city the gang decided to go into the Library... its like they forced confrontations so something might happen instead of wisely arranging them to happen.

A big mushy mess
2 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
What a gushy mess...

This whole film felt for me like someone, grabbed all the elements of a movie, thrown them into a blender..and pop this was the result...

It became first hard to follow the line of story, where is the past..what is the present..or future?

Characters are been introduced at random.. Get some good plot line, for couple of minutes.. Then something else popes in.. The whole film making is very good.Like a triple A movie. The actors are good, but it doesn't help this blundering mess. The lights ,the costumes,it all comes together, the structure is solid but it feels like no one is at home. This started to get really frustrating as the movie progressed..

Other problems:Tom Hanks shown here as a lead actor. He only say 2 words the whole film...what the hell? maybe he was used as a gimmick to pull viewers to watch this. Meg Ryan acting was good, problem is her face suffered so many surgeries,it looks like a freaking death mask, and didn't help with the character of a gentle loving mom...She could do some scary ghost or some horror film, but this totally didn't work for me(I kept getting deja vu from sleepless in Seattle, where she was pretty and her beauty was like pure and naive, slaughtered by all these surgeries)

Been there done that
12 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
First for the Negative: Most of the film just reminded me of many other films, that used the same concept before. The only difference here was the Gender. thou come to think of it there were also movies about man discovering there not who they pretend to be. Also they toy with the concept of switching every 10 min to the past then heading back to the present. This is done so many times it becomes annoying at a point. Think the purpose of this was to give the film some artistic way of viewing the story, but for me it just throw me off the plot.

That said this movie is solid. Aaron Paul does a great job. Also the other actors, the directing, lighting and sound all are up to par.

If you got nothing better to do,grab some popcorn, and have fun.
