Living Undocumented (2019)
Let Ignorance Speak For Itself
Most people don't want to educate themselves unless it's convenient for them and it shows. Many other reviewers on here are complaining that illegal immigrants are infiltrating the country, and that they want to be "entertained" on Netflix and not be subject to virtue signaling.
No one is taking that away from you. If you don't like this documentary, don't watch it, simple. You are choosing NOT to inform yourself on a very important social problem, and you are one of many who continue to benefit at the expense of others. Shame on you.
"Living Undocumented" is vital in demonstrating how important it is to allow some room for immigrant forgiveness. Many of the families shown in this film came from dangerous places, and needed somewhere to be free. They sought the American Dream in hopes of bringing their family a better life and familial stability. They came from little to no money, broken support, and faulty governments. America was their only shot at something better. This film illustrates that perfectly. It is less about whether they are illegal or not, because that's obvious. It is more about the context behind why they came to America in the first place, and their struggle of doing so. This is because MOST people miss the bigger picture, and get defensive when they see things that deviate from the norm.
I'm glad the producers of this film touched on the nuance behind this topic, and how it applies to the real world. It informed me on things I never even knew. I'm considering watching other documentaries similar to this one, and I hope to stay up to date. I would say the only thing that was missing from this film was its documentation of Russian immigrants. I would have liked to understand this experience from that lens a little more.
Overall, 9/10!
The Open House (2018)
Waste of my time!!!
I mean, come on!! The movie has so many plot holes and concepts that are irrelevant in the story. Don't even get me started on the ending. Extremely irritating, and unsatisfying ending to the movie. No explanation of the antagonist and irrelevant characters. Unless you want to be left angered after watching this garbage, steer clear for your sake.
Bird Box (2018)
Amazing movie! I'm addicted to this piece of work.
Sandra Bullock does an amazing job with her role, along with Rhodes and Malkovich and all the other actors in this movie. The film is so complicated and touches so many different issues we have today. I had to sit down for a minute after watching this film! The film is so intense, and mysterious. It even gave me goosebumps after watching it. I had to watch the movie multiple times to try to get a good understanding of it. Give it a watch!!
Hansel vs. Gretel (2015)
Boring script, bad acting. Simple
The first Hansel and Gretel asylum film in my opinion was not too shabby, but was better than this one. I expected Asylum to really put their all into this film and beat the odds, but it just seems like the movie was made from scratch. The actors performances could be much better and the script is disorganized at some points. Some points of the movie are so irrelevant and run on to the point where it gets boring. Disappointing on so many levels, and anticlimactic. Corny acting, terrible effects, sad.
Hansel & Gretel (2013)
So horrible, I've seen better
To be honest, this movie deserves an F grade. The acting is so hokey pokey, and what makes it even worse is Dee Wallace. First of all, she knows goddamn well that the acting she did was so out of line. She probably felt embarrassed and felt bad for the other actors that they had to be in such garbage. Second of all, how can you survive a pitchfork to the stomach and multiple stabbings. Is the Dad a wizard, no. He is a normal human being like everyone else. Third, they tried to hide the fact that Lilith's home was in a neighborhood with a palm tree, not only that, the transitions were horrible, and you can clearly see there are multiple cars parked in front of the property when they head for the car. So obvious. The ending is terrible as well.
