Finch (2021)
Mawkish and boring
Urgh! I don't think this was meant for adults. I just found it so boring. I knew where is was going from start to finish.
I love a robot film, but they're always so over sentimental and grotesquely cheesy when Americans do them. It also felt like a rehash of AI, iRobot, I Am Legend, Castaway, Chappie and Short Circuit.
Secrets & Lies (1996)
One of my all time favourites!
I went through a very Mike Leigh period in my early thirties and this was the first film of his where I suddenly realised the genius. I've seen this film at least twenty times and I never get bored of it. I can imagine for some it's a bit grim, but I understand the heartache and quiet misery of an unfulfilled, mediocre life far too well.
Motherland (2016)
They're all horrible!
I watched the first episode and thought, that woman is horrible. I've watch almost every episode now and I think they're ALL horrible, but I absolutely love it. It's hilarious. It reminds you that people never really grow up or change.
The Mandalorian (2019)
The best thing since the original Star Wars
I haven't enjoyed ANY of the Star Wars series since Return Of The Jedi. But THIS! This is good! I just wish every episode was an hour.
Meet Joe Black (1998)
Unrealistic behaviour
All through this film I kept thinking 'no one would react like that'. The concept of the film was great and Anthony Hopkins is always great, but the film was terrible. All that vacant staring and no one saying, well this is weird, dad's just brought some random hot man home and won't tell us anything about him. I would be thinking, does dad have something to tell us?
