Tenet (2020)
An incoherent mess from start to finish
This film is nonsense. The concept throws up so many pseudoscientific concepts any of which aren't even close to interesting. The combination of the forward\reverse action isn't compelling to watch and the story doesn't hold together. Worse stil wastes a talented cast with babbling lines of dialogue that feel like they were fished at random from a hat. The motivation of the antagonist is simply not compelling enough to explain the huge amount of effort he puts into achieving his goals and the brutality he seems to display boils down to him being Russian, one of the few nations stil allowed to be broadly drawn psychopathic villains simply because of where they are from. It's lazy and feels cheap. Honestly the rating reflects the quality that the technical teams put in to the stunts, camera work and sets. The sound mixing is dreadful and I'm glad I streamed this as I had to rewind more than once to hear dialogue, which is pretty unforgivable and must be have been a nightmare in the cinema.
Avoid at all costs, because despite what this film would have you believe, you can't go back...
Dave Gorman: Terms and Conditions Apply (2019)
Oh Dear
Dave is not a panel show host, he is an observational comedian with an eye for detail and a wry observation. Here the guests are just to take some of the run time up so Dave can do a shorter version of what he does best. Sadly not only do we get a parade of unwanted and pointless guests, we also get a stack of recycled Good-ish material.
Sometimes Dave (the channel) hit gold with the likes of Taskmaster, Judge Romesh and Modern Life is Good-ish. Other times you get this and Ultimate Worrier.
Go see him live instead.
