A Little Romance (1979)
Lovely
This is the cutest, sweetest movie in the history of movies. In my opinion, it is the best romantic movie ever made, because it is so sweet and pure and the relationship doesn't go farther than a kiss. Diane Lane's best movie, as a rich American girl and Laurence Olivier doesn't exactly do damage to the cast list with his amazing acting (as always). So adorable, made me want to watch it 20 times, especially the kiss scene under the Bridge of Sighs *sigh*. Every 13 yr old girl's romantic fantasy is revisited in this impulsive, puppy love story of "little romance" that sparks the urge to "kiss under the bridge of sighs in a gondola at sunset when the bells toll". Come on guys, if you did that to a girl, any girl, she'd love you for life, just like I LOVE THIS MOVIE. <3
Singin' in the Rain (1952)
cuter than cute
I'll be quick. This is the kind of innocent, cute musical that only musical haters can hate but everyone else loves.
Cheery songs, cheery faces and cheery dancing light up the screen. Don Lockwood (or Gene Kelly) is of course the star of the show but every time I see the "Make em' Laugh" routine with Donald O'Connor, I can't help chuckling.
I definitely think Donald is underrated in this film, the central point being focused on Debbie Reynolds and Gene.
I also think Jean Hagen does a fantastic job impersonating Lina Lamont, especially during the speech lessons.
In conclusion, a great movie for a rainy day with a twist at the end.
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003)
Dickie Roberts ONLY EVER A child star
i brought home this movie while i was babysitting, hoping it would be fun, funny, family entertainment, but to my dismay, I was very wrong.
This is by far the worst movie i've seen in a while. the beginning is so pointless, the actors mumble out their lines.
David Spade attempts these sad, sad slapstick, crass comedy routines that just made me and the kids cover our eyes and groan in humiliation.
I'm sorry to all those who think this movie is great, but really, I could barely stand five minutes of the awkward silences when you're supposed to laugh.
My advice? Don't get this out of the video store, don't watch it, don't even look at it lest you are tempted into a horrifying flop of a movie like I was.
Just don't so it.
Les choristes (2004)
love this movie to death cant get enough
OK, this movie is so good. I saw it when me and my friends decided to rent something foreign, but It actually isn't, i mean... everyone can identify with it. we were all in tears at the end (dont worry i wont spill the beans) and the music was just amazing. I downloaded it all and whenever i'd listen to it, id get chills up my spine. everyone out there, watch this movie, its just a must see for anyone. It's not stupid, like i thought it would be, it's just amazing and me and my friends have watched it so many times. it doesn't matter that it's in french, it's still so funny and I'm warning you, girls and guys, get your tissue box close because you're going to need them!
