The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
Really good, ESPECIALLY for a remake...
I'd have given more stars, if I wasn't so disappointed in writers' lack of imagination- STOP REMAKING AND START MAKING NEW STORIES!!!
This one, actually a GOOD remake, is the exception, not the rule.
Nerd of the Living Dead (2011)
Target audience under 10?
I knew it would be a bad movie, that's what I hoped for... But, any time it appears to be even remotely entertaining, there's a fart noise or burp noise or something equally as idiotic.
There is so much of that stupidity that I wonder if the script was written by a four-year old.
Being a guy, I appreciate the potential humour in a well-mistimed fart; but seriously, EVERY CHANCE THEY GET?!? I rarely find a bad movie that could not get any worse, but even my 7-year old can make a better movie...
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Flashback, flashforward, psychoses...
What starts out as a decent horror story ends up devolving into everyone going insane. The paranormal goings-on end up being pure psychoses within the family.
That is what it is written like-if it truly is supposed to be a ghost story, it is delivered wrong.
Of course, the literally incessant time flashing adds to confusion more than anything, so that could also contribute to my viewpoint.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Flat out sucked
Hollywood destroyed this story in pretty much every way. You can tell which reviewers actually read the books by the ratings given.
Even the low-budget bbc miniseries was far superior and true to the story than this garbage.
I had (correctly) assumed that it would suck, so I just watched it on Netflix.
I mean, I like bad movies, but deliberately ruining a good story is a bit too much.
