The Northman (2022)
Atmospheric, Captivating Glory
This movie was glorious. Literally. It tells an amazing story of revenge, through all aspects. Somehow, through the cinematography and the acting alone, this movie manages to tell a long, grueling, gut wrenching quest for vengeance, to the point that the dialogue is not required...though it is appreciated, nonetheless. Not only is this movie great in a critical aspect, but also for the casual viewer. Two of the people I watched this with, were able to pay attention easily, and still be able to understand what was going on in certain moments, despite the fact that they thought it was extremely strange, knowing nothing about viking culture, and attitudes, whatsoever. By the end of the movie, they were able to piece everything together with ease, understand how every scene mattered, loved everything, and claimed it was a masterpiece. Don't let the weird things turn you off. Watch it, think about it in depth, and piece the weird things in, as you watch the movie, and you will be pleasantly surprised by how well this movie accomplishes to make every single detail matter.
Hulk (2003)
Great film, bogged down by boring, straight-forward people.
It's a slow-paced story, that tries to make it as realistic as it can, in order to make it a little more believable that somebody can be like this, as well as showcase what they'd go through. As a comic fan, it makes sense to me that Bruce is so numb to what's happening. It was something deep down; repressed. It was always there. It just had no way to come out.
The CGI, not only amazing for its time, is still awesome to this day. Actually better than plenty of new movies, that funnel millions more into their projects. Only thing that didn't look great was the villain. Yet the physical effects, when he's shown, are still top notch.
If you're a patient person, who actually enjoys movies that aren't typical, you'll enjoy this. It's not a copy and paste superhero film, though I enjoy those too. It tries to add drama, action, and mystery, and does it all well. Really, my only complaint would be the script can seem like a 2000's movie sometimes, and sometimes the acting seems that way too. And it could've delved a little bit more into Bruce's confusion about what he's become. Other than that, always worth a watch. Better than 2008 hulk, and much cooler than the current, occasional, weakling hulk we have.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint (2019)
Pathetic attempt at a good game.
Ubisoft once again delivers an unfinished product. This game is filled with game breaking glitches, a story that becomes less compelling the more you play, bosses that can die instantly, and an overly annoying gear system, that has you changing gear every couple minutes. The game is short, broken, and bad. The only thing it had going for it, was the gameplay. Which hardly worked anyways. Tom Clancy would be rolling in his grave if he saw how pathetic and greed filled ubisoft was with this game. Save your money. Seriously. If you want a great game experience, this isn't the one. Ubisoft needs to learn to make great games again. Until then, don't pay them.
