The House That Jack Built (2018)
Go and skip this one.
If you're looking for a nice serial killer movie together with a snuggle on the touch with the mrs, go ahead and skip this one. There, I just saved you 153 minutes. You're welcome!
The Nun (2018)
Terrible
The Nun is basically a good idea with a terrible execution. It's so full of cliches, that at some point I was able to count down the jump scares with incredible accuracy. Trust me on this; you don't want to see this movie.
Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020)
I can't stop smiling...
I am a die hard fan of the original FF7 game, so I was both thrilled as well as nervous about this remake. I mean, how can you top one of the best games ever made? Also, how do you manage to satisfy the lovers of old school 'turn based' action, as well as the next generation? Well, they actually managed to pull it off! Not just in terms of gameplay or graphics, but also the effort to go much more in depth with each character and side character. I am truly impressed by the creativity of the developers, who managed to stay true to the original plot, as well as surprise those who know the story so well.
Although the story only covers the Midgar part, FF7 Remake has all the characteristics of a full game and much, much more!
Dirty John (2018)
I kept thinking: "Why am I still watching this?"
Have you ever sit through a series thinking 'Why am I still watching this?' Trust me, you'll know what that feels like after this...
Noah (2014)
Can I have a vasectomy instead please?
I'd rather have a vasectomy than having to sit through this again. I actually was half way stating my case against this movie, until I realised that the only thing you need to know is that watching 'Noah' is more painful than watching your cat choke on a fish bone. Trust me, you really want to skip this one!
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
I don't even like Horror...
Let me start by saying I actually don't like watching Horror movies. They hardly scare me and I have found myself waking up from dozing away during a scary movie on more than one occasion. My wife however, loves horror so I've ended up seeing quite quite a lot of it these past years.
Now for this series. From the first minutes you will be intrigued by the many mysteries that slowly reveal themselves, with brilliant timing and excellent acting I might add. Also, it will scare the crap out of you in multiple ways, no matter how ice cold you think you are. Each character reaches a level of depth rarely seen in this genre, which definitely makes this series a gem in it's class. Finally, both the cinematics as well as the soundtrack are simply outstanding.
Well, what are you waiting for? It doesn't get better than this!
