It looks like a good show. I like the premise and my brother-in-law in Spain said it was good. I will need to figure out a different way to watch since Amazon decided to s crew all of us and pull more money from us with no improvement in service.

Annika (2021– )

Nicola Walker is the only highlight in this show. Breaking the fourth wall and literature references are grating.

Nicola Walker is the show's highlight. Without her this show would be unwatchable. Even with her it is irritating. The stories are really basic. It is less a police procedural than a vehicle so Annika can break the fourth wall and make literature references. And the daughter is an alky.

I found this show irritating and I am sad that Nicola Walker is in it. She is fantastic. She is very believable as a DI. Watching her muddle through basic cases is not fun. This show wasn't for me. Since it got a second season I suspect others found it fine. I think She deserves a better show, like Unforgotten.

They completely wrecked this show. The tone is really odd. Eric and Otis fighting? Why? All of a sudden Otis no longer "understands" Eric? Why?

Maeve stopping Amie from seeing Isaac? Why? Why would Maeve care one bit. She discarded Issac when he broke her trust. Now she is going to stop Amie from seeing Issac after she pushed Aimee to be friends with Issac.

This show is all over the place now. Also O is a terrible , terrible character. She's the worst. Also the actress playing O is amazing.

Long story short I am enduring this last season and not enjoying it at all. This show jumped the shark so hard.

The pandemic has been great for this show. The self filming has added a much more real element to the show. It is much less "produced" and more "real".

The struggles of homeschooling during the pandemic. Frustrations and issues are front and center.

I really wish they would keep this self filming.

House of Darkness (2022)

Just boring. Some semi-witty dialogue cannot fill a whole movie.

You know from the beginning where this is going, but you just have to listen to inane conversation for the full length of the movie. Then there is 45 seconds of "pay off".

I do have to say Kate Bosworth pulls of "creepy" well. She had foreboding down. It's just not enough to carry an entire movie.

I think if this writer-director was given some assistance to combine his dialogue writing with someone better at making it flow better and be more interesting, you I really would have something. I think he has talent and look forward to see what else he can do. This movie just is not it unfortunately.

Okay end to a fun show. Last episode crammed too much in.

The last episode tried to cram too much in. There were a lot of storylines that needed a better resolution and just were unceremoniously ended. No epilogue with any of the characters and their new relationships. What happens to Penelope?

Overall I enjoyed the series. I thought it was fun even if there were some really cheesy moments. I mean they stopped the action numerous times to hug, kiss, and profess love. It was kind of hilariously cringe at times.

I wish for more series like this one. I enjoyed the urban fantasy side and the "what if" of a world like ours, but with differences. It really does make for a good premise.

Duncan turning himself in was dumb. The fiscal arresting Jimmy was beyond stupid. They had ZERO except the letter of a lying murderer who covered up her crime by putting someone else in jail for 20 years and that is dying. You have to be joking. Opening an investigation may be one thing, but even that is a stretch since there was no proof of any misdeeds. The nurse would say Duncan and Donna got along well, etc. Suddenly Duncan gets a weird conscience and Jimmy gets arrested.

The storyline this season was great. Convoluted and deep. The evidence to support all the guilt from everyone was super, super weak. Everyone confessed? No one got lawyers? All Niven and Bedford had to do was.... STFU. They had the hearsay of a dead woman and Logan saying "we were there". And?

Come on, writers, you have to do better.

Kissy face, kissy face, I love you!

Within the first two minutes two couples stopped the important work they were doing (guard duty, stealing a boat) and kiss. I mean come on producers. I know this has a romance bend, but not even smitten teenagers would do this. This strains even minor credibility for a show based on a West Point for witches.

Let's make a show that has relationships, but where the characters don't stop what they are doing and do the dumbest thing they could do at that moment. Let be better than that. Let's show some spunky witches getting their action on and drive that plot forward.

How does the writing get worse? Out of place jokes, music. What a mess.

I'm just shocked the writing is getting worse. I can't figure out who this show was written for. Is it for an eight year old audience?

The jokes are terribly misplaced. The heart to heart talks at crazy times are terribly misplaced.

Kit is such a terrible character. This is the sixth episode. She is should be showing some sort of growth by this point and I mean more than the "I wuv you" to whatsherface. Insufferable.

This really feels like an original IP of the CW or Syfy. This is not the Willow anyone wanted. It has zero to do with the original movie at all and this episode really puts a fine line on that.

Such a weird tone, sitcom level humor, and near slapstick "laughs" with several unlikeable characters

I don't believe the creators and writers of this show actually have watched the original movie. Had they done so they would have noted the tone and style and looked to create a show with similar emphasis.

They somehow took a winning formula, looked at it decided they knew better, and created a sloppy imitation.

The tone is bizarre. Is it just supposed to be a ham fisted, sitcom? Is it a dramatic adventure story? Humor is just hucked on top of any scene without any thought to WHY it would be there.

Was this the first show created using an Open AI Chat Bot? It certainly seems like no human was involved.

The Gray Man (2022)

Bonkers in the best way an action movie can be.

It is over the top, quippy dialogue, bad ass people, and awesome locations. It draws you in with how crazy it all is.

This is a really fun movie to watch and have some laughs. Just good fun and cool set piece action sequences.

Chris Evans hamming it up as the antagonist is shear pleasure to watch. It just looks like he was having so much fun with this material.

Ryan Gosling is such a good actor I only wish they had let him a bit more to also have some fun. His character is the "quiet type" and I think it could have been great to see him hamming it up a bit. Although maybe that would have been too much ham. Whatever. Good movie to watch.

Decent entry into Resident Evil universe.

This is a fun show to watch. The extremely negative reviews are mind boggling. It is not a 1 star show. There are many flaws and illogical issues with it, but it has a lot of action and shows an interesting take on the T Virus, etc. Yes I agree the two teenagers are insufferable. I don't know why they wrote those characters that way.

This is worth your time.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)

Boring, visually stunning mess.

When I watched it I just could not put my finger on why I was so bored. Scenes are going by, stuff is happening, but you are not connected in any way to anything that is happening or any character.

The first film was fine for what it was, but that was not the start of a new franchise in this world. Of all the things to do they they pigeonhole themselves into a "beasts" movie and have to cram in some plot line revolving around animals so Newt (Eddie Redmayne) has some point.

This movie was beautiful. Many of the scenes are gorgeous. It ultimately lacks any cohesion. Any depth. Any life that would draw you in and make you want to see what happens. It's flat and boring.

Worth a watch? If you have HBOMax then yes. If you have to rent or buy it, I would skip it.

Much more mature and heartfelt than her other stuff. Worth a watch

I am confused by the dumpster fire of reviews here. I am convinced the crap reviews are from people that just hate Amy Schumer and didn't watch.

This show is much more mature and heartfelt than some of her other entries. Of course you have to like her style, but if you do you will like this show. There is a good mix of outright laughs, sadness, and some toned down comedy. It's worth a watch.

There is zero plot. Scenes make no sense and are disjointed. It's some really dumb 80's screwball humor. Somewhat enjoyable given the right setting. Maybe watching it at a get together while drinking.

Why did they have to show so many messed up animals? Was that some suer important plot point that they just had to do it? Why?

Other than them being sadists the film is just plodding and mediocre. Nothing special at all. Just sort of slow and boring. The landscape is amazing. Svalbard looks like a fairy tale.

This last episode was a meandering mess that reviewed new plots and was very thin on the "police" part. The ridiculous factor had been ramping up each episode culminating in this disaster.

I get they wanted to show a flawed cop and have a big reveal at the end, but they missed the mark so badly.

Solid premise that is inconsistent in execution.

The premise is interesting, but the execution is all over the place. Is it a police procedural? Is it about DI Lennox's inner demons? Is it about his girlfriend's workplace? Is it about the patriarchy?

Several episodes are many focused on DI Lennox and him doing drugs. Why?

Honestly it just got boring by the end. I gut it out because of sunk cost, but it was a struggle by the last few episodes.

So many bad takes in this crap movie. The dad left one Christmas because the family was "too perfect". WTF is that? The mom is totally cool with the dad and just a saint. EXCEPT the dad left after the mom cheated on him and got pregnant. One of the kid's dads is the uncle who was around their whole life and the mom never told anyone. Her daughter grew up without a dad because the mom hid it while he was actually there the whole time. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers were expecting. This is a teen horror show. There will be teenagers in it acting like and talking like modern teenagers. They will use words that if you are above 35 you will need to look up.

As for the show it is a good show with some macabre bits and decent twists. I have enjoyed it immensely. It is interesting to watch them stumble through what to do knowing they cannot really go to the cops.
