Salvage Kings (2019)
Absolutely Entertaining
Let's start by saying that this is not the kind of show I'd be interested in. I hate reality shows lol. They are a blight on humanity and truly evidence of an intellectual decline.
Now, for a complete reversal on what I just said. It's a Canadian show which adds to the value of it.
I began to watch it in 2024 and have been hooked on it ever since. Ted is the ultimate host/ presenter. He's funny, an advocate of maintaining the history and preservation of "things" and very informative .
The sites that we are taken to are very interesting. They are extremely varied. He has an equally interesting casts of people that work with him.
It appears that there will be no more shows which to me is very saddening.
The Gray Man (2022)
Great movie for fans of Gratuitous Violence
Let 's see A-List Stars, multiple cities, lots of fighting both hand to hand and guns, and more guns, wait almost forgot a few explosions and some scenes of torture.
Beefcake thank you very much Ryan Gosling (fellow Canadian).
Add one ridiculous plot.
This will be a major hit for Netflix, ho hum.
In Harm's Way (1965)
One of the best War Movies I've seen.
Tremendous battle scenes. Loaded with exceptional talent, good script and some great acting. Otto you may have been a nasty man to work for but you are a very very good director and occasionally a good bad guy.
Confidentially Connie (1953)
Smile- see it's not so hard. You'll live longer.
On a bad day in a bad week it made me smile a lot. It was far from perfect but in today's world of nasty being the default for just about everything and everyone it did it's job at least for me.
Around the World in 80 Days (2021)
Brilliant
I'm pretty sure that the above reviewers haven't even bothered to watch the show that they are "reviewing"
This story is more than the sum of all the parts of the equally wonderful book by Mr. Verne. I'm an admitted fan David Tennant so I'm sure that shades my views on the show.
Aside from Mr. Tennant the others actors are more than up to the duties of flushing out there characters. The side stories are as interesting as the actual main story.
The story is both colourful and beautifully presented.
This will, I'm sure be declared a modern day classic.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
I will never get the time I wasted back.
I had not read any reviews so I knew nothing about the story. The original movie had been so well done. The poor actors will never ever I'm sure mention this on their resume.
Quick Money (1937)
Delightful
A great collection of silliness, good fun and a great treat to watch.
Minus the the entirely inappropriate use of a man's stuttering as a basis of "humour".
Klaus (2019)
A Tremendous New Christmas Classic.
A wonderful alternate Christmas story to explain how Santa Claus/ Kris Kringle came to be. Great animation (not your typical style) and a tremendous storyline. Funny and heart warming but not maudlin.
Captain Horatio Hornblower R.N. (1951)
One of my Favourites
Well acted, written and directed. One of the best swashbucklers in that particular genre.
Life in Pieces (2015)
Funny, funny, funny
This was one of the best comedies on Television. It's a crime that it got cancelled. Great characters all, and laugh out loud humour, so well written.
6 Underground (2019)
Everyone stop being so pretentious.
Fun movie, great action, great special effects, great cast led by Ryan Reynolds. Never be nominated for anything but great it is definitely fun. You get to see the world with lots of breaking glass and a body count into the thousands just what a mindless action pic is meant to be.
