Welp (2014)
This isn't horror, this is horrible
Oh boy,..why oh why do we waste tax-payers money on this kind of drab?
"Cub" is not an original, or for that matter, a good, movie. It tells the "story" (and I use that word lightely) of a scouts-gang heading out into the woods to find themselves butchered by a woodsman and a little boy.
It features every cliché imaginable: dumb main characters, dumb blondes, gratuit sex-scenes, etc etc..
Now, that would not be a problem if the movie would be superd. But it lacks...everything!!
There is no plot whatsoever!!
-why is the little boy in the woods? No one knows
-why is there a man in the woods killing people? No one knows
-how did he manage to get a bus in the woods, underground? No one knows
-how did he built a massive steel onderground lair? No one knows
-why does the police officer not just drive around the tree logs? No one knows
-How come the police officer can't find his way in the woods? No one knows
-How do the killer and boy survice in the woods? No one knows
-why was this kind of crap ever produced? No one knows
Don't watch this crap,...and to our government: STOP WASTING TAX-PAYERS MONEY!!!
Alien (1979)
Decent, but heavily outdated and overrated
Yes, Alien is a decent movie, but that's all there is to it.
I have to break it to you people, but there are a few things that bother me when filmofiles debate about Alien.
HORROR Nope,..sorry to break it to you peeps, but Alien is NOT a horror movie. It's not even a thriller. You might call it an action movie, but that's about it. Calling this a horror or even a thriller would be an insult to all the superb horror and thriller movies that where made in the mid '70s and early '80s. I mean, come on, there is no gore, no scares, hardly any blood, no suspense, a little bit of action...how on earth can you label this horror?
OUTDATED Yes,...sorry I have to break it to you again, but Alien is heavily outdated. The special effects, the plot, the acting...This might have been an amazing movie 30 years ago (althoug I doubt it) but it isn't anymore.
AMATEURIM something that bothers me with many so-called horror movies: the amateurism: the way the people act, the way the alien moves,...it's like everyone has an IQ of 70...
So what is good about Alien? Well, the landscapes, the props, the scenery and last but not least, the alien of course!!
Boyhood (2014)
a gimmick-movie build on clichés
oh man...
What a piece of s***
1. the fact that it took 12 years to make this movie is on itself a gimmick 2. the director fell into a jar of clichés, are you ready, hold on tight:
-student falls in love with professor -student marries professor -husband becomes an alcoholic -they divorce -student falls in love with professor again -student marries professor again -husband becomes an alcoholic again -they divorce again -boy meets a milf on a party that wants to have sex with him -boy meets the love of his life on first sight at first arrival on campus -yawn, yawn yawn
cliché after cliché after cliché...
If you want to see an actual GOOD movie about teenagers growing up go and watch "kids" or "Ken Park"
Forbidden Planet (1956)
Boring, and acting, bad plot, bad scripting and boring
Man, I don't know where to begin with this...
THE PRAISING I can understand that a movie can get some credit for being the first to use this, or do that. But "being the first to" doesn't automatically mean "being the best" If you follow that twisted logic, then the commodore 64 was, is and always will be the best PC around...quot non...off course! Anyone claiming this movie to be the best Sci-fi he/her has ever seen clearly has only seen 1 sci-fi movie in his/her lifetime... Forbidden planet was not, is not and will never be the best sci-fi movie. period.
THE ACTING Lol...can we even speak of acting? Just watch the scene where everyone is "shooting" at the monster... Or when they find the footprints... Dear lord, you can get better acting in B movies.
THE BOREDOM The biggest flaw in this movie: the lack of any action. Mind you, I don't necessarily need action in my movies. But this is a thriller/murder mysteries/whatever, so a little bit of action would be nice. But no, no action here boys. It's a mindless chain of stupendous events. From a pointless love-story to a meaningless in-dept elaboration about the krell and their achievements. Yawn.
Plot holes Ah yes...the good old plot holes. Well, if you like plot holes, than this movie is gold. To name a few: -how can Morbius have a daughter when she was not on board of the ship and his wife died a few month after landing on the planet. -how can 18 soldiers and a magneto-tank fit into that tiny UFO? -how can this humongous monster walk the stairs the first time without any trouble, but not the second time. -why does the monster suddenly disappear -...etc etc.... The list goes on and on and on....
Yes...the forbidden planet is a true stinker and I cannot, for the love of God, explain why anyone, anyone, would think this is the best sci-fi ever made. Its boring, filled with bad acting, more boredom, bad scripting and even more boredom. AVOID AT ANY COST!!
