Charmed (1998)
LOVE! But...
I was obsessed with Charmed when it aired on the WB a million years ago....and I love it now, except only seasons 1-3. When Prue is killed off, it becomes a hot mess in my opinion. It doesn't have the same magic, which is the sisters's relationships. And love her or not, Shannen Doherty is a really strong actress and carries the show. When she left, it became foppish, even though at times entertaining. Definite binge worthy!!
Good Witch: The Delivery (2021)
Grace is coming!
NOT. We get 6 seconds of Bailey Madison (on the phone?!?) during the last 30 seconds of the episode. Seriously? Her name was in the opening credits, so I was excited and believed she was actually going to appear in the episode. Why even bother??! Fail.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (2016)
How Could This Happen??!
Genius comedic actors, beloved characters and writers of the original series...how could this happen? How can it be so far off from what made the original series so amazing? Maybe it's true what they say, you can't ever really go home again, or something like that?!
Like other people have said, I found Rory's character to be just odd. But not just in her behavior and plot lines. I kept wondering, where's Rory? Even after ten years, which isn't THAT long, a person doesn't become an entirely different person. It's like she lost every bit of spark and was left flat. Even her voice and vocal inflections were lost and she didn't sound like the character we all know and love. It almost felt like Alexis Bledel was working hard to not be like she used to be, as if trying to prove she is a mature woman now. Ok, I get that she's not 16 anymore, but where is the whimsy that made her special? For me, she became so far removed from what we loved about Rory that it was hard to watch.
And I'm such a huge Lauren Graham fan, but found her character utterly annoying. I don't blame her though, the writing here is terrible and does a huge disservice to this talented bunch.
Anyway, there were a few fun glimmers for us fans, but sadly overshadowed by the rest of this train wreck.
