The Bob Newhart Show: Over the River and Through the Woods (1975)
Absolute gold!
I'm currently watching through the series on Hulu and gave been having a blast! . My family watched this show when I was a kid but I don't remember a single specific episode. While I've enjoyed the series, this episode was the first that had me continuously laughing. Laughed so much that I was promoted to check IMDB so see if it was considered one of the best of the series. I was pleased to see it was not only considered one of the best of the series, but one of the best in TV history. I put it up there with the Thanksgiving episodes of WKRP in Cincinnati and Cheers. Bravo to misters Newhart, Bonerz, Daily, and Riley.
Company of Heroes (2013)
POS
What a huge steaming pile of crap. Do not date your time.
Casablanca (1942)
Thank you, Kyle
I first saw Casablanca as a senior in high school. I wish I could say that it touched me then. But I can't. I was a dumb teenager who saw it as only an assignment. The second time I saw it was 25 years later. The century old downtown theater hosts a summer movie series every year from June through August. I was divorced from my ex-wife for about a year. My youngest step-son, Kyle, was 11 at the time. He's was, and still is, a huge movie fan. He loves the classics, even at that young of an age. He was over for a weekend visit and he suggested that we go downtown to see Casablanca. I agreed and off we went. I can honestly say that night changed my life. I absolutely fell in love with this movie. Even though I had already seen it, it was like seeing it for the first time. I wasn't clouded with my teenage narrow mindedness. Casablanca is my all time favorite movie and I watch it about every other month, on a Friday or Saturday night, with the lights out. Kyle is now 21, still a huge movie fan, and this year will mark our 10th year of watching movies at that old downtown movie house. Here's looking at you, kid.
Vikings: The Ice Maiden (2020)
Fitting Farewell
One of the best episodes of any TV show I have ever seen. I'm normally not moved to tears watching TV, but I was during Bjorn's soliloquy. Here was this legendary viking warrior reduced to the little boy we met at the start off the series while professing his love for his mother, and then returning back to his present self while promising revenge. I don't not understand why this show is not more well known than it is.
Nintendo Quest (2015)
Great film!
Watched this doc last year. I had been in and out of collecting retro gaming. Started out as a hobby my youngest son and I did together. As he grew older, my interest waned. After I got divorced, I developed new interests (might I suggest you give the podcast Tell 'EM Steve-Dave a listen to). I was scrolling through Amazon and found this gem of a film. Reminded me of the fun times I had with my son. I had dipped my toe back into game collecting a few months beforehand, but this doc got me a k in with more passion than before. Imagine my surprise when I saw a store I had been shopping at was featured (Warp Zone -Columbus, Ohio). If your into gaming, but if your especially into collecting, may I suggest you give this movie a try. It's the next best thing to actually experiencing the hunt.
