I was entertained...its Ghostbusters!
24 March 2024
I don't get what some people's expectations are from a film about busting ghosts in NYC, but they need to give their heads a wobble and enjoy the ride.

The one thing I would say is that this is probably the darkest and scariest movie in the franchise, which took me by surprise. Its something to think about if you are taking younger family members. They do break it up with comedy moments though.

The old guard have been retained again but this is very much about the Spenglers taking up the reigns after the events of Afterlife. I think they've made to get the balance right and I think there is room for more bustin with a new audience that doesn't alienate older fans. Unlike Disney's handling of Star Wars!

Overall, a great popcorn flick as its meant to be.

Disappointingly average sci-fi with good special effects

Basically it's a poor man's Wanted, but with reincarnation thrown in.

The Walking Dead: Promises Broken (2021)
Season 11, Episode 7
3/10
The show has become as slow and decaying as a walker
4 October 2021
Wow, the show has become as slow and decaying as its subject matter.

Eugene, please stick a blade through the skull of this show and put us all out of the misery of what the show has become.

This is supposed to be the grand finale season, but rather go out in a blaze of glory, its being allowed to rot till it can no longer muster the strength to walk.

Anyone giving this episode or season 10/10 must be watching television for the first time.

The Walking Dead: Rendition (2021)
Season 11, Episode 4
4/10
Reality Check
14 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Firstly, people need to know how a ratings system works:

10/10 - The best thing on TV/movie ever 1/10 - The worst thing on TV/movie ever

Now that's said, how anyone can score this episode as 10/10 is beyond me. Its certainly not the best thing on TV, its not even the best episode of TWD.

The series has been reduced to aimlessly moving from one group of the worst people on Earth to the next. The Walkers have been reduced to a mere inconvenience, claiming the occasional red shirt when the plot breaks down.

It's a far cry from the early series where TWD probably was one of the best programmes on television. Thsts why I had high hopes for this series with it being the finale, but with just over half a series, and some threatened for TV movies, I can't see how TWD will be wrapped up in any sort of satisfactory way.

It even seems to be suffering from a loss of budget with episodes now moving from a dark forest, to a dark abandoned cabin, to a dark tunnel, to a dark abandoned warehouse etc etc

Like some other franchises that have come before, it has gone on for one, probably two, series too long. The writers have run out of ways to continue a story that should have arguably already been concluded. However they are up against a TV network that appears to care more about churning out product to a loyal audience, who are invested and will stick with it in the hope that there will be a payoff at the end, rather thqn putting out quality content.

Or maybe I'm being overly critical and it's the journey that's the most important thing, not how things turn out in the end. If that is the case, then this series should have ended with Rick's departure as it was his journey to begin with after all.

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)
9/10
Unnecessarily negative reviews

Anyone who scores this a 1 or a 2 is a buffoon. That score means it's the worst of television which it is not.

People whined about Star Trek TNG when it first came out, but look how that ended.

Yes Picard is not the man he was, but the actor and the character are now old men.

People need to accept that things change and both Picard and Discovery are boldly going in a new direction, which I for one am enjoying.
