Man Down (I) (2015)

Good twist but noticeable bit to early
4 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wow all the bad reviews, I can only say that the idiots that can not relate to what happens has neither served in the military or knows any one that has, having served 21 years before being medically discharged I can totally relate to how a soldier can make up a world of his own after suffering with PTSD, this movie is hard hitting upsetting, and emotional, yes it could have been put together a bit better but the acting was amazing, the point of the story of making up an apocalyptic world caused by the soldiers experience is honestly something many soldiers could relate to especially if they have had or got PTSD, you do have to watch from start to finish unlike some other muppet wrote in the review saying he skipped till the end I mean how can you leave a review unless you watch it all, anyway if you can watch it all I'm sure like me you will shed a tear and that's not being said lightly.

British comedy at its best
31 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film is hilarious, as usual the steptoes deliver top notch comedy, it's hard to belive the two main characters hated each other in real life as they gel together in such a manner they could pass as father and son, I'm slightly confused by farne who reviewed this film as not good especially considering he said the dog they buy is deaf, it's not deaf it is blind so did he even watch the film or is he just trolling a british masterpeice, atleast get the review right if your going to slate a film in fact just dont bother leaving a review.

Great show
15 December 2019
Clearly the people who have given this show a bad review are either uneducated or used to watching miss marple. All I will say is watch it and judge for your self, it is well plotted, well acted, well set. If you have the mind set of a 10 year old then watch grange hill instead.

Why all The bad reviews?
3 April 2019
I could rant for ages about the bad reviews but to name a few. Firstly if your not British how can you say what its like as a british soldier in afghanistan, secondly the muppet who said it was more nam than stan and that hos mates had a great time in afghanistan well i ask you this , losing a mate infront of you, what is great about that? What a muppet. Clearly all the bad reviews are from people who have never served a day in the forces or they sat in an office all day and pretend to friends and family they were Rambo and The closest they probably ever got was call of duty or the cadets. 1 review even says that the sa80 is brilliant. Not so when this film was set. Nor was the soldiers equipment. I served 21 Years before a medical discharge 3 tours of Afghan, Bosnia, Kosovo and NI. For the low budget it was made on i found it good. A refreshing change from seeing some hollywood star looking pretty with a rifle that never jams and has everlasting rounds. The sound is pretty damn good. The acting pretty good and they do pass as soldiers., but give me this over Hollywood any day. The scenery is realistic and beautifully shot I think they done a great job and should get together for another. Oh and for the record a happy soldier is a moaning soldier. In all I say give this film a chance and don't listen to idiots who think call of duty is what war is about.

maybe a bias review but a poor take on a classic
5 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
First of all the reason I rated five is for the episodes that were copied from the original BBC series. So to start the very first episode states that this is based on ray galton and Alan Simpson crossed swords, well one part is true, ray Galton and Allan Simpson wrote it how ever it was not the first episode well the original steptoe and son was called the offer and it was originally a one off for the BBC play house series, crossed swords was actually season four episode two, now maybe I don't get the American take on humour but this show made a real British classic look dull I'd actually advise people to watch the British version first and then make their own judgment as Wilfred bramble and harry h cornet made this show a true unique hilarious comedy, a guy named John also reviewed this show on this site and said something similar, just my opinion but the Brit version is way above this.

Another remake failure
21 February 2017
The only thing that the Americans got right in this show was David tennant being cast hence the 4 stars this is nowhere near to the standard that broadchurch was at, please stop these poor remakes. Seriously the Americans can make some amazing shows and they are very original so why do they have to try take off ours and ruin them?

Typical American trash remake
21 February 2017
This is sooooo bad seriously the Americans should seriously stick to theirs own shows as they really foul up on remaking British shows, this along with The Inbetweeners and shameless prove they can not pull it off, please stick to your own shows of which you are good at such as walking dead and breaking bad.

Top Show
16 February 2017
I opened this account because I am sick to death as a British man listening to our cousins over the water and down under slating our shows, Ray Winstone along with the rest of this British cast are on top form, our cousins across the pond and down under (not all) bad mouth our shows however when they try to take off our shows such as shameless, the inbetereners life on mars to name a few they fail miserably, they use British actors in their big shows so how can they have the nerve to slate anything of this caliber, and as for the aussies what has been your contribution in the last thirty years ? Neighbours and home and away need I say more? Ray Winstone is at the top of his game in this show as are the cast and crew in my eyes this is British to at it's near best. I'll apologise for my bad grammar as I am dislexic however I do not say sorry for my outburst. To any American or Aussie ready to knock this show and any other show made here then I ask you to seriously think about your review before you post it
