Elusive Isabel (1916)
A must see film!
Would love to see this movie, the first in history to mention and have Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles! It's a great novel of the same name and was directed by Stuart Paton, who directed 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea in 1920. Again, a first in extensive use of underwater cameras.
I recommend first reading Elusive Isabel, by Jaques Futrelle before seeing this movie. Actually any of the many mysteries written by him are each polished gems. I am so glad he wrote as many mysteries as he did - before his untimely death. Lost at sea in 1912 on the Titanic, of all places.
The Uninvited (1944)
Gripes about the Uninvited
Ladies and gents, I've read all the gripes that you listed about this classic and it strikes me many of you either missed the point or are too young and are used to "Holloween" style splatter movies. This movie doesn't have anything major happening for the first 30 minutes because the director has created a build-up { of emotions } for the viewer. You are to savor each scene as it shows you more and more information to get you going. I first saw this movie when I lived in England and since then [ after reading the damned hard to find book ] I've seen it half a dozen times and after each time I've noticed more information and yes, the hairs on the back of my head raise up in some scenes, such as the Ouija board. Just lay back with a nice bottle of wine and enjoy the movie. I guarantee it !!!!! P.S. The car Ray drove { as someone else asked } was a British 1937 Ford Ten Tourer.
