Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Guardians of the freaking galaxy
The first Guardians of the Galaxy is one of my favorite films of 2014. It was a very fun film, so I was excited to see the second Guardians film. Overall, it was alright. The script left much to be desired yet the film dragged on. Most of the special effects are amazing, but some of them are flat out bad. The movie relies quite a bit off humor that is hit and miss. Characters like Star Lord are improved, yet characters like Drax still feel one dimensional. Is it worth seeing? Yes. But is it better than the first? No. It is a great sequel, it really adds to the magic of the first, but it is nowhere near as fun.
Iron Fist (2017)
What the hell happened?
I just don't know what happened with this show. It starts off bland and boring and never really gets any better. It feels very uninspired and is a long setup for the defenders. The characters never feel like they are real people, and they are very poorly acted and written. Do not watch.
Zeruda no densetsu: Buresu obu za wairudo (2017)
Very possibly the best game ever made
Wow. This game may not be perfect, but it's damn near it. Possibly the best launch title for a game system ever. But if you're not quite sold on the Switch, I would get a Wii U, some games, and BOTW. Everything about this game is the most perfect it could've been. Screw XBONE, PS4, and PC. You don't have BOTW
Logan (2017)
Goodbye to Hugh Jackman
This movie felt like more than just another marvel movie to me. This movie made me feel like I was saying goodbye to a dear friend, and that's the best part about it. Logan was a movie that made me feel emotions, something that I never feel in superhero movies. This film is masterfully shot, and the acting is superb. Watch this movie
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017)
Hillbilly Joe's demented family: the video game
Resident evil 7 takes lots of queues from the previous games from the series, and combines them with newer horror games (Outlast) but feels like one of the most fresh games I have played in a while. The game is very densely packed with secrets to find. I found the game even more fun on my second and third playthrough. The multiple endings do feel lazy though, and they feel like a try to get people to play the game again. Combat is very fun, and the setting is creepy and the game is horrifying at times. I do recommend this game to anyone who likes horror game.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Best star wars since Empire
Seems that everyone either loves or hates this movie. While some people think it's the best star wars, others think it's the worst. I'm in the middle. It's a great film, but far from the best star wars. Better than the prequels, and I even thought it was better than ROTJ. So for me it's the 3rd best star wars film, but it's still a really well made film. It's acted and wrote well, which Rouge one is not. The series needed this refresh, which is why I am mostly okay with the rehashed story. Still, the characters are well written and acted, and the visual effects are stunning
Ghostbusters (2016)
(Somehow) Worse than Ghostbusters 2
Whoa. This film is really bad. Not even a type of bad where I can enjoy it as a bad film. It's just bad. Not fun, poorly acted, poorly written, bad sound, and bad effects. Don't watch this dog sh*t. It's cringe worthy and boring. It tries too hard to be better than the first, and it falls flat on its face.
Arrival (2016)
Good Sci Fi Movie: favorite movie of 2016
Arrival was a really good movie. I really enjoyed that it wasn't a movie about aliens destroying earth, but it moreso shows how world leaders would react to aliens landing on earth. It feels very close to the truth as to what would happen. The aliens look very good and the CGI is stunning. This film is worth a watch.
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Wow. One of the best movies of all time
This movie shows that Hollywood can still make good movies based on older franchises. Mad max fury road is possible the best action movie of all time. It won't wow you with an amazing story, but it's not trying to. The film will wow you on it's use of practical effects, and that was enough to satisfy me with multiple viewings. See this movie NOW
Doom (2005)
Guilty pleasure
OK, let me explain. This movie is the best video game movie ever made. Not because it's good, but because you will laugh your ass off at at this movie. It tries hard at points to be a gritty version of the DOOM games, like DOOM 3, but it also gets the fun tone of DOOM 1 and 2, and it uses that in some scenes too. the Rock is in this film, WHY?!?!?!?!? He makes this film just a joy to watch. Watch this film if you just want to have a fun 2 hours
Rings (2017)
Don't watch this steaming dog sh*t
This film is just bad. No way around it. It's just bad. Not enjoyable in the least. Not even scary in the least. Not even fun in the least. Acting is horrible, it's like they put together the bland script on purpose. It's not enjoyable. It's far too predictable. There is only one enjoyable scene at the beginning which I won't spoil, but it's not a reason to see the movie.
Split (2016)
He's back guys!
Split may not be a perfect film, but it's damn fun to watch. Not only is it very tense, but it always feels like there is extreme danger, something that other horror films (Rings) can't quite do. The film is extremely well acted from James Mcavoy and the rest of the cast, but it has by far the best horror movie ending I have seen all year. It may not be as good as get out, but it's damn near close to it
Get Out (2017)
Fantastic movie for people who want to see the horror franchise get a breath of fresh air
Get Out is an extremely fun film with some very scary parts, a great plot, fantastic humor, amazing acting and visual effects, with some fantastic music and it is just an overall fun movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is sick of generic horror movies that are predictable and boring, like me.
The Lego Batman Movie (2017)
best superhero movie all decade
The lego movie was by far the best animated movie of 2014, heck, maybe even the best this decade, so it came as no shock to me that the lego batman movie was a fantastic film with a fantastic all star cast and some very creative and fun moments. sadly, when the second act starts, the film seems to lose it's fun pace and takes a more slow route. This picks up in an extensive final act, which drags on, but is still possible one of the most creative superhero movie endings I have ever seen. This movie is a film for people of all ages, and any superhero movie fan will enjoy this.
Rogue One (2016)
Disney's Star wars rogue one: A star wars story by Disney. AKA another prequel film
Star wars Rogue one did not live up to the fantastic star wars the force awakens, as it has some very glaring problems. First of all, these characters are bland and uninteresting. The film lacks pacing in the first and second acts, and seems to be moving through mud until the ending. The film takes the same route that the force awakens did as it tries to pander to fans a little too much, but the overall film is well shot, CGI is mostly good, and it has a great ending.
