Scarier than its precedents
30 October 2021
I didn't had much expectations for this one; to be honest I was expecting a (even) poorer version than the others "paranormal activity" movie sequels.

This is one is by far the most different one. Instead of focusing in the household of a family, it gives us also cult vibes (which I am a very fan of, in horror movies).

Even though the beginning feels a little weird, the development becomes a little better and ends very well.

The acting is not perfect, but all the actors deliver what was expected of them.

Some decisions are kind of questionable (but I'm what horror movie doesn't inclusive terrible decisions from the characters, right lol?). But overall it's pretty scary.

Some will not enjoy the ending as much as I did, but I though it was kind of outside the box? I don't know, I felt it was (perhaps those who watched strongly disagree with me on this).

For me, it was definitely way scarier than any other "paranormal activity" movies. So I strongly recommend it to watch it; a very good choice to watch on Halloween, for sure.

Fresh & Fun!
17 October 2021
I've watched this movie right after its release. I wanted to see how bad it was, since EVERYONE was talking how bad it was. Guess what: it's not bad. I'm pretty sure lot of people didn't even watched this until the end, but still wanted to talk bad of other's work without even bother to see more than a few moments of the picture.

The musics are very famous (which is very good since I'm Portuguese), and everyone sings very well (even though I would say they could have use a little less auto tune). So I was very amused (I love the use of popular songs).

There's also moments where the movie doesn't take himself very serious, which made my experience watching way better (these days every single movie takes themselves WAY too serious, even when it makes no sense). A few jokes here and there (including a scene that I had to go back a few times of how hard it made me laugh).

I simply loved the duets, between Cinderella and the prince. To this day, I can't stop listening to their songs together (and the major single is also veryyyy good, as well as the reprises).

The acting it's not oscar's worthy, but it was never this movie's intention towards that. And also I must say that for a first main work, Camilla was really good. I personally enjoyed watching her. I hope she gets more opportunities in musicals (her voice is so beautiful and she has so emotion!)

And lastly, and VERY important was definitely the new approach with this version o of the classic. There's so MUCH representation. And now it's not just about getting married; life is so much more than that, right? So why not bring it to the screen and let young children feel represented and inspired.

I Highly recommend you to watch it until the END, but without expectations of finding a new masterpiece (don't forget this is a comedy/musical meant to be watched by and with the kids).

Not Bad
14 May 2021
I don't get all the terrible reviews for this movie. Especially because lots of people talk incredible bad of the special effects. It's not Oscar worthy, but is not terrible. It's quite good for such type of movie.

It lacks some quality on the script, but which shark movie doesn't?

There's some other little mistakes, but overall is watchable. If you are a fan of this genre, o recommend you check it out this one.

Ignore the below 4 scores. It's unfair for those who work in this project.

Waste of Potential and Poor Acting
24 April 2021
It is bad? No. But it could have been so much better.

First I have to say that I hated the main character. Her acting was terrible (and I mean... At least the main actress should have been reasonable, right?). But the overall cast is ok (no on really stands out).

One of the things that I'm hating on some Netflix shows is the "parallel" stories of not so main characters. They are boring. Like, a lot. A complete waste of time.

There's lot of clichês. And not good ones. The "plot twist" is quite predictable (I didn't read any of the books).

But, overall it's not bad. The special effects are quite good as well as the clothing.

If I recommend? For someone who actually enjoy all types of shows, I wouldn't recommend anyone this one. But if you like this genre, go for it. You may be less critical.

Boring
12 April 2021
Boring is definitely the right word to describe this movie.

Don't waste your time with this.

It only has one hour and twenty minutes and I felt like it was actually three hours.

The documentary approach on this one was just so unnecessary and BORING as hell. So boring that none of the "scary" scenes were actually scary.

Acting was okay (some weak parts, but not too bad).

Overall, it's pretty bad. You should skip this one.

Pretty Bad

Warning: Spoilers
It's not the worst movie I've ever seen but overall makes no sense. It's important for a thriller to make people like 'oh this could happen to me', like Open Water (that really captures us since it's literally based of real events). But this... The main characters are supposed to be smart (one is a engineer and the other is studying to be a doctor), but all their actions are stupid.

I mean... you don't ruin other's people car because you think that that somebody ruined YOUR car. That's stupid and unreasonable. Especially under the circumstances of the main characters, explained earlier.

HUGE SPOILER AHEAD The plot twist makes sense for me, since the appearance of the weird older man neighbor in the beginning of the movie. It's quite obvious that is io to something, I mean....

Also the flashback doesn't really makes you feel sorry for the 'villain'. It's not a good reveal moment.

Acting is not bad but not good as well. Same goes to every aspect of cinematography of this movie.

So I cannot give this more than 4 stars. I don't recommend this movie, at all. There's things out there way better to spend your time than this.

Secret Masterpiece
11 February 2021
I wonder if the people who rated this movie actually watched until the end. I doubt it. Not because it only becomes good at the end, no. But because of how brilliant the end is. This is one of he best romances I've watched. The cinematography is beautiful as well as the music. The main actors are incredible. The moments, scenes... everything really connects in such a beautiful way. Not only I found it one of the 2020 best movies, it definitely earns a place on my top movies of all time. Highly recommend it
